MINUTES OF THE BOARD

HOLIDAY INN – ST. CLOUD, MN

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2014 

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT RICHTER AT 1:00 PM

ROLL CALL SHOWED ALL DIRECTORS PRESENT

THERE WERE 16 DEDICATED PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE FOR THE MEETING

MOTION BRENNAN, SECOND ZELLMANN, CARRIED TO ACCEPT MINUTES FROM JANUARY MEETING

BRENT GORACKE, JORDAN, PRESENTED AN UPDATE FOR THE 2014 TOURNAMENT.  HE INDICATED THAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY STARTING AD SALES WITH PROJECTS TO BE COMPLETED ONCE SPRING ARRIVES.

MOTION ROUFS, SECOND RADEMACHER, CARRIED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING TOURNAMENT REQUESTS: 

-CARVER/COLOGNE TOURNAMENT SANCTION FOR JUNE 28-29

MOTION RADEMACHER, SECOND BARRY, CARRIED TO ALLOW THE LAND O’DUCKS LEAGUE A 5 MILE RADIUS EXTENSION FOR THE 2014 SEASON

MOTION ZELLMANN, SECOND BRENNAN, CARRIED TO ALLOW THE FOLLOWING TEAMS TO PLAY NON MBA TEAM FOR THE 2014 SEASON:

IT WAS DULY NOTED THAT NICK BRUNING, HADLEY WILL PLAY FOR SIOUX FALLS BREWERS AND HADLEY BUTTERMAKERS IN 2014

MOTION ROUFS/SECOND ZELLMANN, CARRIED TO ALLOW THE TEAMS FROM THE GOPHER AND 1ST NITE LEAGUES TO PLAY THE WELCOME OUTLAWS (OVER 35) AND THE SIOUX FALLS SAINTS (SD TEAM)

MOTION BARRY, SECOND RADEMACHER, CARRIED TO RE-INSTATE  LAKEFIELD TO THE MBA FOR 2014 SEASON

MOTION ROUFS, SECOND BARRY, CARRIED TO FINALIZE THE CLASS B SECTIONS FOR 2014. THE SECTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

DUNDAS, ELKO, HASTINGS, MIESVILLE, NORTHFIELD, RED WING (6)

ALBERTVILLE, BIG LAKE, FOREST LAKE, ISANTI, MONTICELLO, ROGERS, ST. FRANCIS, ST. MICHAEL (8) 

SHAWN VELLEK AND JON-ERIC URSETH, CLASS A REPRESENTATIVES WERE PRESENT TO DISCUSS 494/694 LOOP AND CONSOLIDATION WITH CLASS B.  THEY INDICATED THAT CLASS A WOULD LIKE TO REMOVE THE 494/694 LOOP TO ALLOW PLAYERS FROM INSIDE THE LOOP TO PLAY CLASS B AND TO ALLOW CLASS A TO SIGN PLAYERS UTILIZING THE 30 MILE RADIUS, AS WELL AS, TO BE ABLE TO SIGN PLAYERS FROM OUTSIDE THE 494/694 LOOP.  AFTER LENGTHY DISCUSSION, IT WAS DETERMINED TO TABLE THE TOPIC FOR MORE DISCUSSION AND TO ADDRESS IT FORMALLY AT OUR ANNUAL MEETING IN OCTOBER.  BOTH THE BOARD AND CLASS A RECOGNIZE ANY CONSOLIDATION WITH A & B WILL REQUIRE MUCH MORE DISCUSSION AND COLLABORATION WITH CLASS B.  AS THE CURRENT RULE STATES – CLASS A CAN SIGN PLAYERS OUTSIDE THE 494/694 LOOP WITH PERMISSION FROM THE MBA BOARD.  THE CONTACTS FROM THE BOARD ARE JOE KREGER, MIKE BARRY AND FRED ROUFS.

OLD BUSINESS 

THE I-TEXT PROGRAM WAS ADDRESSED AND REVIEWED BY DIRECTOR KREGER.  IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LAUNCH OF THE PROGRAM HOPEFULLY WILL BE APRIL 1, 2014

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT RICHTER AT 1:00 PM

ROLL CALL SHOWED ALL DIRECTORS PRESENT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TOM RADEMACHER

THERE WERE 22 LEAGUE OFFICERS AND OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE

LEAGUE SUPPLIES AND HANDBOOKS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL LEAGUES IN ATTENDANCE

MARK FORSMAN REVIEWED THE DETAILS OF THE RULE CHANGES FOR THE 2014 SEASON

SECRETARY HARTMANN THEN REVIEWED THE DETAILS OF THE TEAM/LEAGUE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR 2014.  THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER ON-LINE THIS YEAR OR YOU CAN SUBMIT THE REGISTRATION CARDS AS IN THE PAST.  WATCH THE WEBSITE FOR THE REGISTRATION DETAILS WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK.  ALL TEAMS WILL AGAIN BE REQUIRED TO INPUT THEIR ROSTERS ON LINE FOR 2014 BY FILLING IN ALL PLAYER DATA, AS WELL AS, EACH RESPECTIVE SCHEDULE.

JOE KREGER REVIEWED THE I-TEXT INFORMATION AND ADDRESSED QUESTIONS.  ANY CORRESPONDENCE SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO JOE EITHER BY CALLING OR EMAILING HIM

NEXT MEETING OF THE MBA WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 12, 2014 AT THE EAST SIDE VFW IN ST. CLOUD AT 10:00 AM.  WE WILL BREAK FOR LUNCH AT 11:00 AM.  ALL COMMISSIONERS ARE INVITED.  WE WILL CONTINUE OUR MEETING AFTER LUNCH TO SET UP REGIONS.  MATERIALS WILL BE HANDED OUT FOR YOUR RESPECTIVE REGIONS AND SECTIONS.  WE URGE ALL COMMISSIONERS TO ATTEND.  IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE MEETING, PLEASE SEND SOMEONE IN YOUR PLACE.

LEAGUE REGISTRATION AND DUES ARE DUE BY APRIL 1ST.  MAKE SURE THAT YOU COMPLETE ALL THE INFORMATION ON THE REGISTRATION ON-LINE OR THE CARDS IN EACH PACKET.  ALSO HAVE ALL TEAMS SIGN THEIR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS.

THE MBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS WILL HAVE A WORKSHOP ON FRIDAY, APRIL 11 AT 7:00 PM AT THE HOLIDAY INN IN ST. CLOUD.
