May 11 Board meeting minutes

Time:  11:00 AM

Meeting called to order by President Richter at 11:00 AM

There were ten dedicated baseball people in attendance

Roll call showed that all members were present except Mark Forsman

Motion Brennan, seconded Rademacher, carried, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting

Motion Zellmann, seconded Kreger, carried, to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire for Chase Hentges, to return to MBA to play for Shakopee Indians

Motion Zellmann, seconded Rademacher, carried, to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire for Adam Schrader, to return to MBA to play with the Minnesota Lake Royals

Motion Roufs, seconded Barry, carried, to approve the Pro Player Questionnaire for Joe Loftus, to return to MBA to play with Prior Lake Jays

Motion Kreger, seconded Zellmann, carried to approve the following team tournaments: Winsted Wildcats 5/31-6/1, Cannon Falls Bears 6/5-6/9, Dundas Dukes 5/31-6/2, Rum River Bandits 6/28-6/30, New Prague Orioles 5/31-6/2, Stockmen’s Irish 6/27-6/30, Austin Greyhounds Spamtown Challenge 6/27-6/30, Red Wing Aces 6/15-6/15, Detroit Lakes Angels 6/5-6/9, and Hinckley Baseball Assn 6/28-6/30

Motion Rademacher, seconded Brennan, carried, to approve the following teams to play Non-MBA teams:

-Cannon Falls to play Bay City WI, Minnesota Bees, Hager City WI, River Falls WI, Bay City WI, and Prescott WI

-Austin Greyhounds Spamtown Challenge:  Westmount IL, Kewaskum WI, Appleton WI, Cedar Rapids IA and Sioux Falls SD

-White Bear Lake Township to play Hager City, WI

-Detroit Lakes to play Fargo Mets and also to play in the Jamestown, ND tournament.  Also for all Minnesota teams to play the Jamestown ND Elks and the Jamestown ND Merchants in their tournament

-Austin Greyhound to play Chaseburg/Coon Valley Blues WI

-Austin Blue Sox to play Chaseburn/Coon Valley Blues WI, Austin American Legion and the Austin A’s (Senior Wood Bat League)

-St. Paul Mudhens to play River Falls WI, Osceola WI, Hager City WI, and Spooner WI

-Fairmont Martins to play River Falls WI in Red Wing Tournament

-Owatonna Aces to play Minneapolis Cubs

-Red Wing Aces to allow River Falls WI to play in their tournament and all Minnesota team to be allowed to play them

-Rum River Bandits to play St. Croix Falls WI

-Rochester Royals to play Chaseburg/Coon Valley WI

-Winona Chiefs to play Sparta WI

Motion Barry, seconded Kreger, carried, 5-3 to approve Jeremy Joyce to play for Jackson.  Voting no: Roufs, Brennan and Zellmann

Motion Barry, seconded Brennan, carried, to approve the granting of his release for Logan Swann from Redwood Falls

Motion Kreger, seconded Barry, carried 7-1, to approve Nick DeVos to play for the Hamel Hawks.  Voting no: Roufs

Motion Roufs, seconded Barry, carried, to approve Dylan Barth to be reinstated to the MBA for the 2013 season

Motion Roufs, seconded Barry, carried, to approve Brian Vonhot to be reinstated to the MBA for the 2013 season

It was duly noted that Adam Schmidt, Fairmont Martins, requested permission for Tyler Beck to play for the Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League

Motion Barry, seconded Roufs, carried, to approve David Deminsky to return to Sartell Muskies

It was duly noted that Harold Meissner, Brandon Evansville requested approval for Matt Herringshaw to be eligible to play with Brandon Evansville in 2013

Motion Zellmann, seconded Rademacher, carried, to deny Ryan Graupman’s request to play for Norway Lake Sunburg due to residency rule.

It was duly noted that Jason Churchill, New Richland Reds, requested permission for Vinnie Van Engelenburg to play for the Des Moines Hitmen in 2013

OLD BUSINESS – None

NEW BUSINESS

Motion Zellmann, seconded Kreger, carried, to approve the game fees for umpires working the State Tournament to be $110/person for 2013 and 2014, as well as, $120/person for 2015 and 2016

Motion Rademacher, seconded Barry, carried, to approve the admission fees for the 2013 State Tournament as follows:  Adults -$7, Students -$4 and tournament passes -$50/Adult and $25/Students

With no further business, motion Kreger, seconded Brennan, carried, to adjourn at 2:50 p.m.

Next MBA meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 15th at the Eastside VFW in St. Cloud at 11:00 AM.  We will be going through all State Tournament Bids at this meeting.
