Mankato Free Press: Help sought identifying man seen night of Tink Larson Field fire


WASECA — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a vehicle and its driver seen near Tink Larson Field the night a fire destroyed the historic grandstand.

The vehicle was parked along 4th Street Northeast near the steps that led down to the concession stand and ticket booth area between 7:30 and 7:40 p.m. April 6, according to a news release issued by Waseca police.

The vehicle was a clean, dark, medium-size car. The driver was seen walking down the steps from the street to the stadium and is described as a man with a medium build, wearing dark clothing, police said.

Authorities are trying to identify and interview the man and are asking him to come forward.

The man “may have information that would assist the state fire marshal in making a final determination about the cause of the fire,” the release said.
