Back for a fourth season at KNSI with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. Including not only game summaries, but upcoming schedules, league standings. Tournament summaries and an occasional special interest feature. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South and Stearns County teams throughout their league playoffs, regional and state tourney games.  

LAKEWOOD LEAGUE/REGIONAL GAMES

BEAUDREAU’S SAINTS 3, SAUK RAPIDS CYCLONES 2 (7/9 @ Sauk Rapids)

The Beaudreaus Saints defeated their Lakewood League and Regional rival the Cyclones. Brad Haag started on the mound for the Saints, he threw 7 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Brindley Theisen threw 2 innings in relief to earn the win, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk and he recorded 2 strikeouts. The Saints scored 2 unearned runs in the 7th inning and in the top of the 9th to secure the win. Tommy Auger went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run. He was credited for driving in the go ahead run in the 9th. Steve Neutzling went 2-5  and he scored a run and Brindley Theisen went 2-4. Tom Imholte went 1-5 and he scored a run and Brain Minks went 1-4 and he earned a walk. Andy Auger went 1-4, Chad Hockemeyer went 1-4 and he scored a run and Jason Kotschevar earned a walk. 

The Cyclones’ David Kroger, threw a complete game, he scattered 9 hits, issued 2 walks, 3 runs, 2 unearned and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Tom Wippler went 2-4 and Matt Loegering went 1-3. Greg Bemboom was credited with a RBI by way of a fielders choice and Mat Meyer had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. David Kroger went 1-3 and he earned a walk, player/manager Paul Schlangen went 2-4 and he scored a run and Bjork Hanson had a stolen base and he scored a run. 

BRAINERD BEES 2, SAUK RAPIDS CYCLONES 1 (7/8 @ Brainerd)

The Bees defeated their Lakewood League and regional rivals in a pitchers duals. Blake Peterson started on the mound for the Bees, he threw a complete game to earn the win. Blake Peterson went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run and Kevin Peterson went 1-4 with a RBI. Devin Hanson went 1-3 with a double and he scored a run and player/manager Tim Martin went 1-3 with a RBI. 

The Cyclones’ veteran right hander, Jeff Hille, started on the mound, he threw a complete game. He gave up 7 hits, 2 runs, no walks and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Player/manager, Paul Schlangen went 1-2 with 2 stolen bases and he earned 2 walks. Mathew Meyer went 2-3 with a walk and a stolen base. Bjork Hanson earned a pair of walks, a stolen base and scored a run and Mitch Loegering earned a walk and had a stolen base. Joel Haller earned a walk and he had a sacrifice fly, Matt Johnson earned a walk and Tom Wippler had a sacrifice bunt.

WATKINS CLIPPERS 10, ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 5 (7/7 @ Watkins)

The Clippers defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Gussies, backed by 13 hits, including 4 extra base hits. A pair of veteran lefty’s did the mound duty, Dan Berg started on the mound, he threw 8 innings to earn the win. He scattered 12 hits, issued 1 walk, surrendered 5 runs and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Matt Geislinger threw 1 inning in relief, he issued a walk an he recorded 3 strikeouts. Kevin Kramer had a very good game, he went 2-5 with a triple and a double for 2 RBI, a stolen base and he scored 3 runs. In addition he was converting center field like leopard in the wild, he made one great diving catch that may have likely kept two runs of the board. Lincoln Haugen had a good game, he went 2-4 with 2 RBI and Brenden Ashton went 3-6 with a RBI. Dan Sargent went 1-4 with a double for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Tyler Hebrink went 1-5 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Adam Hiltner went 1-4 with a RBI and he was hit by a pitch. Dan Berg gave his team a big boost with a big double for 2 RBI and he scored a run, Gary Peters “Mr. Steady” went 2-3 with a walk and he scored 2 runs and Travis Linn scored a run. 

The Gussies’ Dustin Schultzenburg started on the mound, he threw 5 1/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 4 walks, 6 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Dan Swan threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 8 hits, 1 walk, 4 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Aaron Fruth went 3-4 with 2 RBI and he earned a walk and Nate Gwost went 3-5 with a home run and a double for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Marcus Lommel went 2-6 with a double and he scored a run and Nate Laudenbach went 1-4 with a double for 2 RBI and he earned a walk. Adam Gwost went 2-5 and he scored a run and Dustin Schultzenburg went 1-5 and he scored a run . Mitch Gwost went 1-4 and Zach Laudenbach was hit by a pitch.  

WATKINS CLIPPERS 13, ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 3 (7 inn.) (7/8 @ Watkins)

The Clippers defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Nicks, backed by 12 hits, including a grand slam and a pair of doubles. Logan Linn, started on the mound for the Clippers, he threw a complete game. He scattered 6 hits, 1 walk, 3 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Brendan Ashton had a huge game, he went 4-4 with a grand slam and he scored a pair of runs. Veteran Dan Berg had a good game, he went 2-3 with 2 doubles for 2 RBI, he earned a walk, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Dan Sargent went 2-4 with a walk, 2 stolen bases and he scored a run and Logan Linn went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run.Tyler Hebrink went 1-3 with 2 RBI, he earned a walk, a stolen base and he scored a run. The Nicks’ Grant Mrozek started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 9 hits, 3 walks, 10 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Jon Hofer threw one inning in relief, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Tanner Anderson went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI and player/manager Robert Lutgen went 1-4 and he scored a run. Matt Schindler went 1-3, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run, Sam Moriarty went 1-3 and Hunter Ahrens earned a walk. 

LUXEMBURG BREWERS 19, EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 6 (7 inn.) (7/9 @ Luxemburg)

The Brewers defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Hawks, backed by five home runs and good pitching performances by Isaac Matchinsky and Austin Klaverkamp. Isaac threw 5 innings to earn the win and Austin threw 2 innings in relief. Derrick Orth had a big game, he went 2-4 with 2 home runs for 3 RBI. Chase Aleshire had a great game, he went 4-4 with a home run for 3 RBI. Logan Aleshire went 2-4 with a home run for 4 RBI and veteran Luke Harren went 1-3 with a 3-run home run.  

The Hawks’ Austin Schlangen threw 4 innings, he was the pitcher of record. Alex Geislinger had a good game, he went 3-4. Austin Schlangen went 1-4 with 3 RBI and Steve Pennertz went 3-4 with a home run.  

COLD SPRING ROCKIES 11, PEARL LAKE LAKERS 4 (7/7 @ Cold Spring)

The Rockies defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Lakers, backed by 14 hits, including 4 extra base hits. Trevor Lardy started on the mound, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He scattered 9 hits, issued 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Jordan Neu closed it out with a pair of innings in relief, he gave up a hit, 1 walk and 3 runs. Jake Hennen had a good game, he went 3-5 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored a run. Nick Skluzacek had a big game, he went 2-3 with 2 doubles for 2 RBI, a stolen base, he earned a pair of walks and scored 3 runs. Marshall Wirtzfeld went 3-3 with a RBI, he earned a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a runs and David Jonas went 3-5 and he scored 3 runs. Calvin Kolthoff went 2-5 with a double and he earned a pair of walks and Kevin Wenner went 1-4 for a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Austin Dufner went 1-4 with a RBI and he earn, player/manager Reece Hemmesch went 1-1 and Andrew Allar went 1-1. 

The Lakers’ Alex Miller started on the mound, he was the pitcher of record and Mr. Bacon threw in relief. Justin Kunkel had a good game, he went 4-5 with 2 doubles and a RBI. Alex Miller went 1-4 with a RBI and Mitch Wieneke went 2-5 and he scored a run. Chad Kunkel went 1-5 and he scored a run, Cole Denn went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run and Tommy Linn went 1-3. 

WATKINS CLIPPERS 10, COLD SPRING ROCKIES 1 (7/9 @ Cold Spring)

The Clippers defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Rockies, backed by 13 hits, including 4 extra base hits. The Clippers, Player/manager, Matt Geislinger, started on the mound, he threw a complete game, to earn the win. He gave up 5 hits, no walks, 1 run and he recorded 13 strikeouts. Brendan Ashton had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double for 2 RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Lincoln Haugen had a good game at his catcher position and at the plate, he went 3-5 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored 2 runs. Tyler Hebrink went 1-4 with a triple for 2 RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Dan Sargent had a good game at shortstop and at the plate, he went 2-4 with a double, a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Kevin Kramer went 1-4, he earned a walk, he had a stolen base and he scored a run and Dan Berg went 1-4, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Heath Kramer went 1-5 with a RBI and Carter Geislinger went 1-1 with a RBI. Travis Linn went 1-1 with a RBI, Adam Hiltner earned a walk and he scored a run, Gary Peters was credited with a RBI, he earned a pair of walks and he scored a run and Dustin Kramer scored a run. 

The Rockies’ Ryan Hennen started on the mound, he threw 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 4 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Jake Brinker threw 2/3 of a inning, he gave up 4 hits, 4 walks, 7 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Dave Jonas, gave up 2 hits and he retired one batter with a strikeout. Jake Hennen went 12-3 with a double and David Jonas went 1-4 and he scored a run. Marshall Wirtzfeld went 1-3, Blake Holbrook went 1-3, Austin Dufner went 1-4 and Kevin Wenner had a stolen base. 

KIMBALL EXPRESS 3, PEARL LAKE LAKERS 1 (7/9 @ Marty)

The Express defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Lakers, backed by a very good pitching performance by Ben Johnson. He threw a complete game, he gave up just 2 hits, issued 2 walks, surrendered a run and he recorded 15 strikeouts. Kyle Winter had a big game, he went 2-2 with a home run, he earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch. Scott Marquardt went 1-4 with 2 RBI and he earned a walk and Austin Ruehle went 1-3, he earned a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he had a stolen base. Adam Beyer had a good game, he went 3-5 and Brian Marquardt earned a pair of walks. Jordan Joseph earned a walk, Ben Johnson earned a walk, Zack Sufka had a sacrifice bunt, Zach Dingmann scored a run and Scott Sufka scored a run.

The Lakers’ Mitch Wieneke started on the mound, he threw 6 1/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 6 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Justin Kunkel threw 2 2/3 innings, he gave up 2 hits and a walk. Alex Miller and Mitch Kunkel both went 1-3, Andy Linn earned a walk and he scored, Justin Kunkel and Cole Denn both earned walks. 

ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 17, ST. NICKOLAS NICKS 6 (7/9 @ St. Nickolas)

The Gussies defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Nicks, backed by 12 hits, six extra base hits. Travis Laudenbach, started on the mound, he threw 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. He scattered 10 hits, issued 3 walks, surrendered 6 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Luke Richardson, threw 1 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Adam Gwost had a big game, he went 3-6 with 2 doubles for 2 RBI and he scored a run. Player/manager, Dustin Schultzenburg had a good game, he went 4-5 with a double for 2 RBI, a stolen base and he scored a run. Marcus Lommel had a good day, he went 3-6 with a triple for 3 RBI and he scored 3 runs. Mitch Gwost had a good game, he went 3-5 with a triple for 2 RBI and he scored 4 runs. Mitch Laudenbach went 1-2 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored a run and Brady Grafft went 1-3 with 2 RBI, he earned a pair of walks and he scored 2 runs. Matt Skaja went 1-4 and he scored a run and Adam Benoit had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Andy Bautch threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 5 hits, 4 walks, 7 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Tanner Anderson had a good game, he went 2-5 with a double for 2 RBI and Matt Schindler had a nice game, he went 2-4 with 2 RBI, he earned a walk and he scored 2 runs. Hunter Ahrens went 3-5 and Sam Moriarty went 2-3 and he earned a walk. Travis Hanson went 1-3 with a RBI and Grant Mrozek went 1-4 and he earned a walk. SARTELL MUSKIES 12, SARTELL STONE PONEYS 2 (7/5 @ Sartell) 

The Muskies built their league record to 7-0 after defeating their cross town league rivals the Stone Poneys. The Muskies, lefty Johnny Schumer started on the mound, he threw a complete game to earn the win. He scattered 4 hits, issued 1 walk, he surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Jace Otto had a great game, he went 4-6 with a double for a RBI, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Brian Schellinger had a good game, he went 2-6 with a double for 2 RBI, 2 stolen bases and he scored 3 runs. Cody Partch went 2-3 for 2 RBI, he was hit twice by a pitch, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Dan O’Connell went 1-3 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Tim Burns went 1-5 with a RBI and he scored a runs and Adam Wenker went 1-4 with a RBI. David Deminsky earned 3 walks, he scored a run and he was credited with a RBI, Braeden Dykhuizen was credited with a RBI, he was hit twice by a pitch and he scored a run and Jonah Nebosis earned a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. 

The Poneys’ Player/manager, Jeff Amann started on the mound, he was the pitcher of record. Andrew Kinney threw in relief, Cody Rose threw in relief and Rudy Sauerer threw the final two innings in relief. Sean Tillman had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double and he scored a run and Josh Schaefer went 1-4 with a double. Brandon Reinking went 1-4, Shawn Lindsay earned a walk and Jeff Amann scored a run.  

SARTELL MUSKIES 4, ST. JOSEPH JOES 1(7/8 @ St. Joseph) 

The Muskies defeated their Sauk Valley League rivals the Joes in a great pitching dual. Lefty David Deminsky started on the mound, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up 5 hits, issued 2 walks and he recorded 13 strikeouts. Max Koprek threw 2 innings to earn the save, he gave up 2 hits, 1 run and he recorded a strikeout. The first run in the game wasn’t scored till the top of the 7th inning. Adam Schellinger went 2-3 with a RBI, a stolen base and he scored a run. Jake Sweeter went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for  2 RBI and Jace Otto went 1-5. Tim Burns earned 3 walks, he was hit by a pitch and he was credited with a RBI. Brian Schellinger earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch, Austin Gohl earned walk and he scored a run, Jonah Nebosis had a sacrifice bunt, Cody Partch walked and scored a run and Johnny Schumer earned a pair of walks.  

The Joes’ Alex Kendall, started on the mound, he threw 6 innings, he gave up just 1 hit, he issued 4 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Joey Stock threw 3 innings in relief, he gave up 3 hits, 5 walks, 4 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Eric Vigil went 2-4 and he scored a run and Brandon Bloch went 1-3 and he earned a walk. Joey Stock went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch and Ethan Carlson went 1-5. Tanner Blommer went 1-4, Caz Novak went 1-4 and Alex Kendall earned a walk. 

FOLEY LUMBERJACKS 5, SARTELL STONE PONEYS 4 (7/7 @ Sartell)

The Lumberjacks defeated their Sauk Valley League foe the Stone Poneys, backed by Mitch Keeler’s pitching performance. He started on the mound, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He scattered 7 hits, 2 walks, surrendered 3 runs and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Player/manager, MIke Beier, threw 2 innings in relief to earn the save, he issued a pair of walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Sam Keeler had a good game at the plate too, he went 2-4 with a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Mike Beier had a good night, he went 3-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Mike Plante went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Kyle Kipka went 1-5 with a double and he score a run. Tyler Long went 1-5, Joel Bollig went 1-3, Ean VonWald had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Noah Winkelman earn a walk. 

I didn’t receive any pitching stats for the Stone Poneys. Spencer Timm went 2-4 with a RBI and he was hit by a pitch and William Kranz went 2-3 with a sacrifice bunt. Matt Maurer went 1-3 with a double, he walked and he scored a run. Rudy Sauerer went 1-3 with a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Rob Gabrielson went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Shawn Tillman went 1-5, Pat Dolan earned a pair of walks and Jeff Amann had a sacrifice bunt. 

FOLEY LUMBERJACKS 11, BECKER BANDITS 1 (7/8 @ Becker) 

The Lumberjacks defeated their Sauk Valley League foe the Bandits, backed by 15 hits, including seven players with 2 hits apiece.  Kyle Kipka started on the mound for the Lumberjacks, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 2 walks and he recorded a strikeout. Mitch Keeler threw 5 innings in relief to earn the win, he did not give up a hit and he issued four walks.  Kyle Kipka went 2-6 with a triple for a RBI and he scored a run and Sam Keeler went 2-5 with a RBI, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Ean VonWalde had a big game, he went 2-2 with a double for 4 RBI and he earned a pair of walks. Player/manager, Mike Beier went 2-3 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Mitch Keeler went 2-4 with 2 RBI and he scored a run. Tyler Midas went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored 3 runs, Tyler Long went 2-6 and he scored 2 runs and Tanner Brosh went 1-5 and he scored a run. 

The Bandits’ Cole Hanson started on the mound, he threw a complete game, he gave up 15 hits, 2 walks, 11 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Kevin Kranz went 2-4 with a RBI and Hayden Fassler went 2-4. Conner Rolf earned a walk and he scored a run, Brady Yoerg earned a pair of walks. Kreeden Bloomquist earned a walk, Matt Conzemius earned a walk and Cole Hanson was hit by a pitch. 

ST. JOSEPH JOES 15, CLEAR LAKE LAKERS 2 (7 inn.) (7/9 @ Clear Lake)

The Joes defeated their Sauk Valley League rivals the Lakers, backed by 18 hits, including six players with multi hit games. Greg Anderson started on the mound, he threw a complete game to earned the win. He scattered 6 hits, issued 3 walks, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Joey Stock had a big game, he went 4-6 with 2 RBI and he scored 3 runs. Brandon Bloch had a good game, he went 2-3 with 2 RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Eric Vigil had a good day, he went 3-5 with 2 RBI and he scored a run. Ethan Carlson had a good day, he went 2-6 with 2 RBI and he scored 2 runs. Ben Alvord had a nice game, he went 2-5 with 2 RBI and Zach Overboe went 1-5 with a RBI and he scored 3 runs. Charles Vaughn had a good day at the plate, he went 2-5 with a 2 RBI and he scored a run. Tanner Blommer went 1-2, he earned a walk and he scored 2 runs and Hunter Blommer earned a pair of walks and he scored a run and Dustin Barg went 1-1 and he earned a walk. 

The Lakers’ Mike Smith started on the mound, he threw 3 innings, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 12 hits, 3 walks, 9 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Ryan Paasch threw 4 innings in relief, he gave up 6 hits, 2 walks, 6 runs and he recorded a strikeout. Noah Vogt went 1-3 with a triple for 2 RBI and Matt Korte went 2-4. Cole Gueningsman went 2-4 and he scored a run and Ryan Skyzmanski went 1-3 and he scored a run. Mike Smith, Derek Tomberlin and Ryan Paasch all earned walks. 

SARTELL MUSKIES 14, BECKER BANDITS 4 (5 inn.) (7/9 @ Sartell) 

The Muskies defeated their Sauk Valley League foes the Bandits in 5 innings in game 1 of a double header. The Muskies pounded out 18 hits, including 6 players with multi-hit games. The Muskies, Austin Gohl started on the mound, he threw 5 innings to earn the win. He gave up just 3 hits, issued 8 walks, surrendered 4 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Dan O’Connell had a great day, he went 2-3 with a triple and a double for 3 RBI, he had a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Jonah Nebosis had a big game, he went 3-4 with 3 RBI and he scored a run. Grant Mackenthun had a good day, he went 3-3 with a double for a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. Johnny Schumer had a good game at the plate, he went 3-4 with a double for 3 RBI and he scored a run. Brian Schellinger went 2-4 with stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Jake Sweeter went 2-4 with a RBI,  a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Jace Otto went 1-3 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run, Adam Wenker went 1-3 with a RBI, he earned 3 walks and he scored 3 runs and Tim Burns went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. 

The Bandits’ German Hagen started on the mound, he threw all 5 innings, he gave up 18 hits, 5 walks, 14 runs and he recorded a strikeout. The Muskies defeated their Sauk Valley League foe the Bandits in game 2 of their double header. Adam Wenker started on the mound, he threw a complete game to earn the win, he gave up just 4 hits, issued 2 walks, 1 run and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Dan O’Connell had another big game, he went 1-2 with a 2 run home run and he was hit by a pitch. Tim Burns had a good game, he went 2-3 with 2 doubles and Grant Mackenthun went 1-3 with a double. David Deminsky went 1-3 and he scored a run and Travis Weaver scored a run. 

The Muskies now have built a 10-0 record in the Sauk Valley and they are now 17-4 overall.

The Lumberjacks defeated their Sauk Valley League foes the Villains, backed by a 13 hit attack and good pitching performance by their Player/manager, crafty Mike Beier. He started and he threw 5 innings to earn the win and Cameron Jurek threw 4 innings in relief. Kyle Kipka had a good game, he went 3-6 with 2 RBI and Tanner Brosh went 1-2 with 2 RBI. Joel Bollig went 2-3 with a RBI and he scored a run and Mitch Keeler went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run. Mike Plante went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Sam Keeler went 1-3 with a pair of walks and he scored a run. Austen Hadley threw 5 1/3 innings in relief to earn the win, he gave up just 4 hits, issued 1 walk and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Grant Thompson lead of the 12th with a double, Russ Leyendecker advanced Thompson to third with a bunt and with two outs Jordan Roos got the walk off single to drive in Thompson. Brent Heinen started on the mound, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Josh Mackedanz thew 2 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. They got a very good pitching performance by Mitch Reller, he threw a complete game to earn the win. He gave up just 4 hits, issued 4 walks, 1 run and he recorded 15 big strikeouts. All the runs in the game were scored in the first inning, Carter Sawyer, was hit by a pitch and Bryan Benson was it by a pitch, a pass ball allowed them to advance to 2nd and 3rd. A big base hit by Troy Frieler drove them both in, followed by a 2 run home run by Brandon Sawyer. Carter Sawyer was hit twice by a pitch, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Bryan Benson earned a walk and he scored a run. Troy Frieler went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Brandon Sawyer went 1-3 with a home run for 2 RBI, Mitch Waldvogel earned a walk and Trevor Sawyer earned a walk.

Joe Dempsey went 3-4 with 2 RBI and he scored a pair of runs and Garrett Fuchs went 2-6 with a RBI and he scored a run. Eric Loxtercamp went 3-7 and he scored a run and 2 stolen bases and Justin Thompson went 2-6. Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-5 with a double, a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run, Brady Olson went 1-5 with a walk and Zach Femrite had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. The Springers found themselves behind twice in this ball game, as the Saints put up 4 runs in the 3rd and 3 more in the 6th inning. The Springers put together a big inning with 3 runs in the 4th inning and 4 more in the 7th. In the 12th inning, Eric Loxtercamp singled and stole 2nd and 3rd base on consecutive pitches and Garrett Fuchs had a walk off single to drive in Loxtercamp. 

The Saints’ Jeremy Hinderks started on the mound, he threw 9 innings, he gave up 14 hits, 2 walks, 7 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Derick Sommers, threw 2 innings in relief, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and he recorded a strikeout. Dakota Freiborg went 3-5 with a double, a walk and he scored a run and Jeremy Hinderks went 3-5 with a RBI. Jack Dykema went 1-5 with a RBI,  sacrifice bunt and he scored 2 runs and Ryan Hebrink went 1-5 with a walk and he scored a run. Nate Hebrink was credited with a RBI, Jarrod Holmgren walked and he scored a run, Mike Johnson walked twice and he scored a run and Mitch Tieml walked and he scored a run.

The Springers defeated their River Valley League rival the Indians, backed by 13 hits, including 4 extra base hits. Mathias Butala, started on the mound, he threw 6 innings, he  scattered 7 hits, issued 2 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts, to earn the win. Tanner Aleshire threw 1 inning in relief, he issued one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Eric Loxtercamp had a good game, with a double for 2 RBI, he earned a walk and he scored 2 runs. Joe Dempsey had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored 2 runs. Zach Femrite had a very good day at the plate, he went 3-3 with a double for a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored a run. The Springers defeated the Hampton Cardinals in 9 innings, backed by the pitching performances by Zach Femrite and Justin Thompson. Zach threw 7 innings and Justin Thompson threw 2 innings to earn the win. Eric Loxtercamp went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI and he walked and he scored a run. Zach Fermite went 1-5 with a double for a RBI and Alex Jungels went 2-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Justin Thompson went 2-4 for a RBI and he scored a run and Joe Dempsey went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run. Jeron Terres went 1-4, Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-4 and he scored a run and Brad Olson went 1-4. 

The Cardinals’ Marcus Fredrickson was the pitcher of record. Jordan DeCrook went 2-4 with 2 doubles, he scored 2 runs, he was hit by a pitch and he had a stolen base. Tom Springer went 2-4 with a double and Nil Nelson went 3-5 with a triple. John Dittman went 1-4 with 2 sacrifice bunts, 1 for a RBI and he scored a run. David Barry went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run, Rhett Hebig went 1-4 and he was hit twice a by a pitch, John Selchow went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch and Josh Sharp earned a walk.

MOORHEAD BREWERS 6, COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 0 (7/9 @ Jordan)

The Brewers defeated their Regional rivals the Springers, backed by the pitching performance by David Ernst. He threw a complete game, he gave up no hits, 2 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Tanner Adam went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Kory Wolden went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Derek Dormanen went 1-2 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Matt Oye went 2-4 with a double and he scored 2 runs. Landon Uetz went 2-4 with a RBI, Jeremy Peschel went 1-3, Mike Peschel was credited with a RBI and Ryan Sheeley scored a run. 

The Springers’ Justin Thompson started on the mound, he threw a complete game, he scattered 10 hits, issued 1 walk, surrendered 6 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. It was Justin’s 3rd mound appearance in 4 days. This was a scoreless game till the 3rd when the Brewers put up a run. They did put up 3 more in the 6th inning and 2 more in the 7th inning. Justin Thompson and Zach Hinkemeyer earned walks. The Springers were missing no less than 3 starters the whole tournament. 

FORT RIPLEY REBELS 11, COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 9 (7/5 @ Cold Spring)

The Springers dropped their first game of the season to the No. 5C state ranked Fort Ripley Rebels. Logan Kalis started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 8 hits, issued 3 walks, 7 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Brett Kramer threw 5 innings in relief to earn the win. He gave up 2 hits, issued 4 walks, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Logan Kalis had a very good game, he went 3-5 with 2 doubles for 5 RBI and he walked. Jason Sather went 4-6 with a RBI and he scored a run and Luke Weber went 3-4 with a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored 3 runs. Jack Hegarty went 1-4 a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Nick Jelacie went 1-3 with a RBI, he earned 3 walks and he scored 2 runs. Brett Kramer went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Brian Skluzurek went 1-4 with 2 walks and he scored a run. Ethan Branum went 1-5 and he scored he scored a run and Dustin Littlefield was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. 

The Springers’ Jason Thompson started on the mound, he threw 3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 4 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Tanner Aleshire threw 2 2/3 innings, 7 hits, he issued 7 walks and 7 runs. Chris Butala, threw 3 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up 2 hits, issued no walks, no runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Drew VanLoy had a good game, he went 3-3 with a 2 RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Joe Dempsey went 2-4 with a double for a RBI, he earned a walk and he scored 2 runs. Eric Loxtercamp went 2-5 with a double, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Alex Jungels went 2-5 with 2 RBI and a stolen base and Brian Hansen went 1-3 with a triple for a RBI, 2 stolen bases and he earned a walk. Ryan Holthaus went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for 2 RBI, Zach Femrite earned 2 walks and a stolen base, Brad Olson earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch and Jeron Terres earned a walk and he scored a run.  Springers have a potential for games on the schedule for the weekend at the Coors Light Invite, so they were conservative in the use of their pitchers. 

RICHMOND ROYALS 5, NEW LONDON-SPICER TWINS 3 (7/7 @ Spicer) 

The Royals defeated their County Line League and regional rivals the Twins, backed by 11 hits. Veteran, lefty Dan Hansen, grinded out a win by pitching out of several tough situations, to earn the win. He threw a complete game, he gave up 15 hits, 3 runs, no walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Dusty Adams went 2-5 with a RBI and a stolen base and Kyle Budde went 2-3 with a double for a RBI and he earned a walk. Connor Dols went 3-5 with a stolen base and he scored 2 runs and Alex Budde went 2-3 with 2 walks and he scored 2 runs. D. J. Schleicher went 1-5 with a RBI, Dan Hansen went 1-5 and he scored a run and Kennedy Mooney earned a walk. 

The Twins’ Mike Danielson started on the mound, he threw 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 3 walks, 3 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Ben Kulset threw 1 inning in relief, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk and 2 runs. Jake Rambow had a good game, he went 5-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Ben Kulset went 4-5 with a double and he scored a run. Mike Danielson went 2-5 with a double for 2 RBI and Dalton Rambow went 2-4 with a stolen base. Austin Rambow went 1-4 with a stolen base and Jamie Scheevel went 1-4 and he scored a run. 

ST. JOSEPH JOES 5, AVON LAKERS 4 (7 inn.) (6/28 @ St. Joseph) 

The Lakers defeated the Victory League South leaders the Lakers, backed by the pitching performances by Nate Chandler and Nathan Mohs. Nate got his first start of the season, he threw 2 innings, gave up 2 hits, 4 walks, 2 runs. Nathan Mohs threw 5 innings in relief to earn the win, he scattered 5 hits, issued 2 walks, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Zach Overboe went 1-3 with a RBI, a walk and he scored a run and Peter Nelson, had a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he earned 3 walks, 1 stolen base and he scored a run. Joey Atkinson went 1-2 and he scored a run and Nathan Mohs went 1-2 with a RBI. Ben Alvord went 1-1 with a walk and Caz Novak had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Tanner Blommer went 1-1 with a walk and he scored a run and Willie Willats earned a walk and he was hit by a pitch. Charles Vaughn had a sacrifice bunt and he earned a walk and Joey Stock earned a walk and he had a stolen base. They used everyone on their bench in this ball game. 

The Lakers’ Josh Becker was the pitcher of record, he started and he threw 5 2/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, issued 9 walks, surrendered 5 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Carter Holthaus went 2-4 with 2 RBI and Will Kleinschmidt went 1-4 with a double for a RBI. Jon Bauer went 2-3 with a double and 2 stolen bases and Kennedy Weber went 1-3 with a RBI. Cody Stich went 1-3 with a double, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs and Caleb Curry walked twice and he had 3 stolen bases.  

KIMBALL EXPRESS 8, FARMING FLAMES 5 (7/9 @ Farming) 

The Express defeated their Stearns County foe the Flames backed by 9 hits including 4 extra base hits. Andy Dingmann started on the mound, he gave up 9 hits, 1 walk, 5 runs and he recorded 1 strikeout to earn the win. Matt Dingmann threw 4 innings to earn the save, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Ben Johnson had a good game, he went 2-4 with a home run and a double for 3 RBI, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Troy Filzen had a good game, he went 2-3 with a home run for 2 RBI, he walked and Jordan Joseph went 2-3 with a double for 2 RBI, he walked, had a stolen base, hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Adam Beyer went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Scott Marquardt went 1-4 with a double, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Zach Dingmann went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run and Brian Marquardt earned a walk.  

The Flames’ Chad Mergen started on the mound, he threw 3 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 1 walk, 8 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Cody Fourre threw 2 innings in relief, he gave up a hit, 4 walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Taylor Schroeder threw 3 innings in relief, he issued a pair of walks and he recorded a strikeout. Aaron Eiynck went 1-4 with a home run for 2 RBI and Brad Mergen went 1-4 with a RBI. Cody Fourre went 1-2 with a double, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Taylor Fourre earned a walk, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Max Carlson went 2-3 and he scored a run and Mitchell Theilen went 1-3. Craig Klein went 1-2, Kyle Zierden went 1-2 and Chris Wehseler went 1-2 and he scored a run. The Lakers were defeated by their Central Ridge foe the Yellow Jackets, there were a combined 33 hits in this slugfest. Taylor Giving was the starting pitcher for the Yellow Jackets, he threw a complete game, he gave up 16 hits, 3 walks, 8 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Tanner Teige went 2-4 with 2 RBI, 3 walks, 1 stolen base and he scored 5 runs. J. D. Huberty went 2-7 with 2 RBI and Sam Dokkenbakken went 3-4 with a double for 3 RBI, 2 walks, 1 stolen base and he scored a run. Dustin Wilcox the former Beaudreaus Saint went 2-4 with 2 RBI, he earned 2 walks and he scored 2 runs. Mason Miller went 2-4 with 2 RBI, he walked, was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Nathan Soltau went 2-4 with a walk and he scored 2 runs and Luke Atwood went 1-6 with a double for 2 RBI and he scored a run. Chance Halligan went 3-5 with a walk and he scored 2 runs and Brandon Holthaus went 1-6 and he scored a run. 

The Lakers’ Hunter Mutterer started on the mound, he threw 3 2/3 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 5 walks, 6 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Richard Thompson threw 2 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, 1 run and he recorded a strikeout. Brandon Buesgens threw 3 innings in relief, he gave up 8 hits, 4 walks, 9 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. The Villains dropped a game to Central Ridge League foe Red Devils. B. J. Jenner started on the mound for the Red Devils, he threw 7 innings to earn the win. He gave up 5 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Mitch Annis went 2-3 with a RBI and Bryan Lee Santiago-Martinez went 1-4 with 2 RBI. Nick Dinkel went 3-4 with a RBI and Dustin Garson went 2-3 and he scored a run. Isiah Harken went 1-3 and he scored a run, Drew Sagehorn went 1-3, Bryan McCallum walked and scored a run and Caleb Reese walked. 

The Villains’ Todd Klaers started on the mound, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 1 walk, 3 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts.
