KNSI Radio’s Central MN Baseball Round-Up (July 4)

LOCAL BASEBALL ROUNDUP

Back for a third season at http://knsiradio.com/sports/high-school-msc/about-msc/ with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South, Eastern Minny West and Stearns County South teams this season and the upcoming schedule for each league including tournament and exhibition games. In addition, the league standings thru out the season.

 On July 2 the Roscoe Rangers, before the game against St. Martin, took a moment to recognize Dale Mackedanz who is currently in his 40th season with the team. Dale Mackendanz began as a batboy in the late 1960’s and early 70’s. This is when he also began cutting the grass at the ball park, which he still does today.

Dale was also known as a power hitter, making several All Star appearances over the years. He has played every position in the field, accept pitcher.  He once had a nine RBI game, and he hit a home run at the age 46! He officially joined the team in 1976, making this his 40th year on the roster. 

CENTRAL VALLEY LEAGUE

WATKINS CLIPPERS 5 ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 4  (7/1/16 @ Watkins)

The Clippers defeated their Central Valley league rivals the Nicks behind the pitching performances by: Matt Geislinger and Dustin Kramer. Matt threw 5 2/3, he gave up 4 hits, 1 run, no walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Dustin Kramer threw in relief to earn the save for the Clippers. Brandon Ashton went 2-4 with a home run and Lincoln Haugen went 1-3 with a double for a RBI. Gary Peters went 13 with a RBI and he scored a run and Kevin Kramer went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Adam Hiltner went 1-2 with a walk, hit by a pitch, stolen base and he scored a run. Heath Kramer went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt, Hunter Mathies went 1-3 and he scored a run and Brain Benson had a sacrifice bunt.

For the Nicks, Travis Hanson was the pitcher of record, he threw all 9 innings. Adam Dingmann had a good game, he went 3-5 with a triple for a RBI and he scored 3 runs. Tanner Anderson went 2-5 and Joe Wehlage went 1-5 with a double and he scored a run. Jeff Lutgen went 1-4 with a RBI and Derek Kuechle went 1-3 with a RBI, he hit by a pitch and had a stolen base. Jon Hofer went 1-3 and Robert Lutgen had a sacrifice bunt.

COLD SPRING ROCKIES 7  EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 2  (7/1/16 @ Eden Valley)

The Rockies defeated their Central Valley rivals the Hawks, behind the pitching of Tyler McElwee and Trevor Lardy. Tyler threw 5 innings, he scattered 6 hits, 3 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Trevor Lardy threw 4 innings of relief, to earn the win, he gave up 2 hits, no walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Jake Hennen had a big game, he went 3-5 with 2 doubles for 2 big RBI’s and he scored a run. David Jonas went 2-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Calvin Kalthoff went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Cole Field went 1-5 with a RBI and he had a stolen base. Ryan Bell went 1-3 with a walk and a stolen base and Dylan Tebrake walked, had 2 stolen bases and he scored a run.

For the Hawks, Nate Geislinger started on the mound, he threw 7 2/3 inning, gave up 6 hits 2 walks, 2 runs and he had 6 strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Tanner Olean threw 1 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks and he had 3 strikeouts. Austin Schlangen went 1-4 with a double and Nate Geislinger went 2-4 with a RBI. Tanner Olean went 1-3, with a stolen base and he scored a run and Matt Pennertz went 1-3 with a RBI. Jake Anderson went 1-4 and Matt Unterberger went 1-4 and Dan Sargent walked twice and he scored a run.

COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 5  BEAUDREAU’s SAINTS 4  (6/30/16 @ Cold Spring)

The Springers defeated their Lakewood and Region rivals the Beaudreau’s Saints, behind the pitching performance by Justin Thompson. Justin threw a complete game to earn the win, he scattered 8 hits, 1 walk and he gave up 4 runs, of which 2 were unearned and he record 6 strikeouts. Two big doubles in the bottom of the 8th inning by Brad Olson and Brian Hanson, drove in the tying and the go ahead runs. Drew VanLoy had a good game, he went 2-3 with a double for 2 big RBI’s and he walked. Brad Olson went 1-3 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and he had a sacrifice bunt. Brian Hanson went 1-4 with a double for a RBI, he walked and he had a stolen base. Tyler Geislinger went 1-3 with a 385 plus homer run to straight away center field. Tyler made a couple of great running catches in center field to save a couple potential runs. Ryan Holthaus went 1-2 with a sacrifice bunt, he walked and he scored a run. Ryan called a great game from behind the plate. Alex Jungels went 1-4. Joe Dempsey went 1-4 and Garrett Fuchs had a sacrifice bunt, he walked and he had a stolen base.

For the Beaudreau’s Saints, Dominic Austin started on the mound, he threw 1 1/3 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Chris Koenig threw 5 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up just 2 hits, 4 walks, 1 run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Ryan Schneider threw the final inning of relief, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 2 its, and 2 runs. Steve Neutzling had a great game, he went 3-4 with a double and he scored 2 runs. Tommy Auger went 1-3 with a double for a RBI and a sacrifice bunt. Ryan Schneider went 1-3 with a homer run and he walked. Brady Yoerg went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and Waylon Bemboom went 1-4. Jason Kotshevar went 1-4 and Chad Hackemeyer scored a run.

SARTELL MUSKIES 14 FOLEY LUMBERJACKS 0  (7 Innings) 7/1/16 @ Sartell)

The Muskies topped their Sauk Valley league rival behind a 10 hit attack and good pitching performance. They sent 12 batters to the plate in the 5 inning,  they put up 9 runs, included 6 hits, 3 walks and one batter hit by a pitch. The icing of the cake, was a grand slam by Tim Burns. Tim went 2-3 with his grand slam and a sacrifice fly for 5 big RBI’s and he had a stolen base. Jace Otto had a good game, he went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Andrew Deters went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s, he walked and scored 2 runs. Cody Partch went 1-4 with a RBI, a walk, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Brian Schellinger went 1-2 with a RBI, a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run and Dan O’Connel went 1-3, he was hit by a pitch, had a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Luke Sweeter went 1-4, Grant Lahn, walked twice, one stolen base and he scored 2 runs and Adam Schellinger walked twice and he scored a run. Adam Wenker started on the mound, he threw 6 innings, he gave up just 2 hits, 1 walk and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Grant Mackenthun threw the final inning in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recorded one strikeout. The Muskies are now 8-0 in the Sauk Valley, they have clinched the No. 1 seed in the league playoff.

For Lumberjacks, Cameron Jurek started on the mound, he went 4 1/3 innings, he scattered 5 hits, he walked 3, surrendered 6 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts and Sam Keeler threw 1 2/3 innings of relief. Mitch Keeler went 3-3, Tony Stay earned a walk and Joe Siwicki earned a walk.

ST. JOSEPH JOES 1  LITCHFIELD BLUES 0 (7/1/16 @ Litchfield)

The Joes topped their Sauk Valley rivals the Blues, behind the great pitching performance by Alex Kendell. He threw all 9 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 15 strikeouts. Alex had a good night at the plate to, he went 2-4 with a double. Hunter Blommer went 3-4 with a RBI and Peter Nelson went 3-4 with 2 stolen bases. Ben Alvord went 1-4, Greg Anderson went 1-4 and Michael Tiede went 1-3.

For the Blues, Austin Larson started on the mound, he threw 9 innings, he scattered 10 hits, 1 run, 3 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Derek Koll went 1-4, Carson Deal went 1-4 and Ross Wendlandt went 1-4.

The Royals defeated their Stearns County South rivals the Martins, behind the pitching of Alex Budde and D. J. Schleicher. Alex started, he threw 4 innings, gave up just 2 hits, 2 runs, 5 walks and he had 3 strikeouts. D. J. Schleicher threw 5 innings of relief to earn the win, he gave up 5 hits, 2 runs and he had 4 strikeouts. The Royals pounded out 15 hits, with Cole Schmitz leading the way, he went 3-4 with a home run and a double for 4 big RBI’s. Kyle Budde had a great game, he went 5-6 with a RBI and he scored 2 runs. Adam Backes went 2-4 with a RBI, 1 walk, a stolen base and he scored 4 runs. D. J. Schleicher went 1-5 with a double for a RBI and he walked twice and Brent Ruegemer went 1-5 with a RBI. Alex Budde went 1-3 and he scored a run, Dan Hanson 1-4 and Tim Hanson went 1-5.

For the Martins Jaylyn Arceneau started on the mound, he went 5 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 2 walks, 4 runs and he had 2 strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Scott Schlangen threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 8 hits, 4 walks, 4 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Taylor Holthaus had a good game, he went 2-4 with a home run and a double with 3 RBI’s and he walked once. Michael Schlangen went 3-4 and he scored a run and Jordan Moscho went 1-4 with a RBI. Bryan Schlangen went 1-5, Scott Schlangen walked twice and he scored a run and Josh Stangler walked. 

ST. MARTIN MARTINS 4 ROSCOE RANGERS 2  (10 Innings) (7/2/16 @ Roscoe)

The Martins defeated their Stearns County south rivals the Rangers in a very well played ball game. Ben Schroeder started on the mound for the Martins, he threw 10 innings, he scattered 5 hits, walked 2, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. The Rangers took the lead with a first inning home run by Trent Gertken and they held that lead till the 7th inning when Russ Leyendecker had the Rangers 2nd home run of the game. The Rangers took a 2-0 lead into the top of the 9th inning. The Martins started with a pair of singles by Kyle Lieser and Taylor Holthaus and a sacrifice bunt by Scott Schlangen, followed by single by Chas Hennen to drive in runners and to tie the game. The Rangers left two runners stranded in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The top of 10th started with Michael Schlangen being hit by a pitch, followed by a sacrifice bunt by Bryan Schlangen and a big base double by Kyle Lieser to drive in Michael, followed by a walk to Taylor Holthaus. The final run was scored on a attempt to throw out Kyle Lieser stealing third base, the throw went into left field. Grant Thompson had a double by in the bottom of the 10th, but was left stranded at 2nd base. Kyle Leiser was 2-4 with a double for a RBI, hit by pitch, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. For the Rangers, Jordon Roos started on the mound, he threw 9 innings, he scattered 7 hits, 3 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Josh Mackendanz threw the 10th inning in relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk, 2 runs and he had one strikeout. Russ Leyendecker went 2-2 with a home run and a double, walked once and he was hit by a pitch. Trent Gertken went 1-4 with a home run and he walked and Grant Thompson went 1-5 with a double. FARMING FLAMES  10  RICHMOND ROYALS 4  (7/3/16 @ Richmond)

The Flames pounded out 16 hits, as they defeated their Stearns County South rivals the Royals. A combined pitching effort by Brad and Brent Mergen held the Royals bats in check. Brad started and he went 6 innings to earn the win, he gave up 3 hits, 5 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 11 strikeouts. Brent threw 3 innings of relief to earn the save, he gave up 1 hit, 5 walks, 2 runs and he had three strikeouts.  Brad Mergen helped his own cause, as he went 2-3 with a home run for 3 RBI’s and he walked twice and he scored 2 runs. Aaron Nett had a big game, he went 3-4 with a RBI and he scored 2 runs. Joel Klein went 3-4 with a double and Craig Klein went 3-5 with a double. Chris Wehseter went 1-4 with a home run for 2 RBI’s and Aaron Eiynck went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s, he was hit by pitch, 1 stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Mitch Thelen went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for 1 RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Dylan Panek went 1-4.

For the Royals, Andy Bauer started on the mound, he went 5 innings, he gave up 12 hits, 3 walks and he had two strikeouts. Dylan Hanson threw 4 innings in relief, he gave up 4 hits, no walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Adam Backes went 1-4 with a home run and he walked once and Cole Schmitz went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI. D. J. Schleicher went 1-4 with a RBI and he walked once. MEIRE GROVE GROVERS 9 LAKE HENRY LAKERS 3 (7/3/16 @ Lake Henry)

The Grovers staring pitcher Matt Imdieke, he threw a complete game, he scattered 7 hits, no walks and he had 2 strikeouts. Alex Welle went 2-5, Andrew Welle went 2-5 and he scored a run and Anthony Welle went 2-5 with a double and he scored a run. Tanner Klaphake went 3-4 with a double for a RB, Colton Meyer had a huge day at the plate, he went 2-5 with 3 run homer for 5 big RBI’s and Jeron Klaphake went 2-4 with a RBI.

For the Lakers Jon Hofer was their starting pitcher, he threw 2 1/3 innings and he was the pitcher of record. Toby Flanigen threw 2 1/3 innings of relief and Mitch Weidner threw the final 4 1/3 innings. Matthew Quade went 2-4 and Josh Kampson went 2-3, he was hit by a pitch, had a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Ryan Wuertz went 1-3 with a double and he was hit by a pitch and Shane Kampsen went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Colin Riley went 1-4 and Mitch Weidner earned 2 RBI’s for the Lakers.

The Lakers topped their Victory League South rivals the Express, behind the pitcher efforts by Laker starter, Jon Harlander. He threw 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he had 1 strikeout, to earn the win. Troy Wunderlich threw 3 innings to earn the save, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he had 1 strikeout. Cody Stich had a very good game, he went 3-4 with 3 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. Riley Voit went 2-5 with a double for a RBI and Matt Meyer went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Tony Harlander went 1-3 with a RBI and Reed Voit went 1-3 with 2 walks. Rick Hendrickson walked 3 times, 1 RBI and he scored 2 runs and Adam Harlander had a RBI, he walked, was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Zac Tomsche walked, hit by a pitch, he had a stolen base and he scored a run and Will Kleinschmitt scored a run.

For the Express, Ian Hoffarth was their starting pitcher, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 6 walks, 11 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Derek Thielen threw 3 innings of relief, he walked one and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Derek Thielen went 2-4 with a RBI and Ian Hoffarth went 1-4. Jake Klein scored a run and Matt Maciej scored a run. Austin Gerads walked and Nate Maciej walked.

ST. STEPHEN STEVES 15  CUYUNA RANGE MINORS 3  (7 Innings) 7/3/16 @ Crosby Ironton)

The Steves topped their Victory League foes the Minors, behind their 14 hit attack, led by Sam Neeser. He went 2-5 with a home run and a double for 4 RBI’s. Matt Meyer went 3-5 with  2 doubles, Blake Guggenberg went 2-5 with 2 doubles and Dylan Hollenkamp went 3-6.

For the Minors, Bryan Syrstad went 3-5 with 2 RBI’s, Dillon Solid went 2-3 and Jamie Sall went 2-3.

The Springers defeated their Victory League foe the Rebels with a 15 hit attack. They were led by Brain Hansen, he had a very good game, he went 4-6 with a 3 run home run and he had a total of 4 RBI’s. Alex Jungels had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double for a RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Justin Thompson and Brad Olson both had good games, Justin went 2-4 with double for 2 RBI’s and Brad went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Zach Femrite went 2-3 with a walk and he scored 2 runs and Jack Arnold went 1-2 with 2 walks and he scored a run. Garrett Fuchs went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run and Ryan Holthaus went 1-1 with a walk. Nick Pennert earned a RBI, Jordan Barth and Max Fuchs both had sacrifice bunts and Drew VanLoy earned a walk. Chris Butala, started on the mound, he threw 6 innings to earn the win. He scattered 9 hits, 4 walks and he had one strikeout. Jack Arnold threw the final 3 innings to earn the save, he gave up 1 hit, no walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts.

For the Rebels, Bill Sather started on the mound, he went 6 innings, he was pitcher of record. Logan Kalis threw 2 innings of relief to close it out for the Rebels. Nick Jelacie led the Rebels offense, he went 2-5 with a double for 2 RBI’s and Rhett Williamson went 1-4 with a double and a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Jim Kramer, a young 52 year old, went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. His son Brett Kramer went 2-5. Jack Hegarty went 2-3 with a walk and he scored a run and Logan Kalis went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run.

MONTICELLO POLECATS 3 BEAUDREAU’S SAINTS 2 (6/29/16 @ Dick Putz)

The Polecats topped their Class B foes the Beaudreau’s Saints, behind a good pitching performance by four pitchers. Ben Schoben started, he went 4 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, 3 walks, 1 run and he had two strikeouts. Michael Revering threw 2 innings and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Lefty Joe Kounkel threw 1 inning to earn the win, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he had one strikeout. Jakob Kounkel threw the final 2 innings, to earn the save, he recorded 4 strikeouts. Mike Olson went 2- 4 with a double for a RBI and Joe Tupy went 1-4 with a double for a RBI. Keenan Macek went 3-4 with a triple for a RBI and Michael Revering went 2-4 and he scored a run.

For the Beaudreau’s Saints Brindley Theisen started and he threw 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Brian Minks threw the final inning and he was the pitcher for record. Tom Imholte had good game, he went 3-4 with a triple and he walked and scored a run. Brian Minks went 1-5 with a double and Ryan Schneider went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s. Dustin Wilcox went 1-2 with a walk and he scored a run, Tommy Auger went 1-3 and Jason Kotschevar earned 2 walks.

SARTELL MUSKIES 3   SARTELL STONE PONEYS 2 (6/29/16 @ Sartell)

The Muskies staged a late rally to defeat their cross town rivals the Stone Poneys, backed by a couple of their young and talented pitchers. Max Koprek, started and he threw 7 innings, he scattered 5 hits, 5 walks, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Cody Partch, threw the final 2 innings in relief to earn the win, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recored 3 strikeouts. It was Luke Sweeter’s two out single that drove 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning, they did score a run earlier in the inning. Luke Sweeter went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s and Andrew Deters went 1-3, with a walk and he scored a run.Tim Burns went 1-4 with a walk, Adam Wenker went 1-3 and Dan O’Connell went 1-3. Adam Schellinger walked and he had a RBI and Brian Schellinger was hit by a pitch and he scored a run.

For the Stone Poneys, Nate Nierenhausen started on the mound, he went 6 1/3 innings, he gave up just 4 hits, 1 walk and he recored 3 strikeouts. Jeff Amann threw 1 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 3 walks and he surrendered 3 runs, he was the pitcher of record. Sean Tillman went 2-4 and Jake Wenzel went 1-5. Teddy Flemming went 1-3 with a walk and Jeff Amann went 1-4. Alex O’Leary went 1-4 and he scored a run, Spencer Timm earned 3 walks and Brandon Reinking walked and he scored a run.

LUXEMBURG BREWERS 9  AVON LAKERS 3  (6/29/16 @ Luxemburg)

The Brewers of the Central Valley League defeated the Lakers of the Victory League behind their 12 hit attack. Rhett Fruth had a great game, he went 4-4 with a home run for 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. Colton Fruth had good game, he went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s and Tanner Skaja went 2-2 with a double for 2 RBI’s. Sam Iten went 1-1 with a double for a RBI and Darren Kiffmeyer went 1-2 with a RBI. Chase Aleshire went 1-3 with a stolen base and he scored a run and Nick Baker went 1-2 with a RBI. Derrick Orth walked and he scored a run and Ethyn Fruth walked and he scored a run. Mitch Ergen scored 2 runs and Chris Knaus earned a walk. Chase Aleshire started on the mound, he threw 4 innings to earn the win. He gave up just one hit, 3 walks and he recored 6 strikeouts. Brice Adelmeyer threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Darren Kiffmeyer threw 1 inning of relief, he walked 3, gave a run and he had one strikeout. BRAINERD BEES 8 MONTICELLO POLECATS 2  (7/1/16 @ Monticello)

The Bees of the Lakewood league defeated the Polecats of the Central Ridge League, behind the great pitching performance by Blake Peterson. Blake threw all 9 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 5 and he recorded 15 strikeouts. Kevin Peterson went 1-4 with a double for 2 RBI’s and Bryce Flanagan went 2-5 with a triple. Paul Augustinach went 2-3 with a RBI and he walked. Joel Martin went 1-4 with a double, Jeron Hanson went 1-4 with a RBI and Matt Brink walked twice, had 2 stolen bases and he scored 3 runs.

For the Polecats, Mike Terres started on the mound, he went 4 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 4 walks, 4 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Greg Holker threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and he had a strikeout. Keenan Macek and Ben Schaben had base hits for the Polecats and Mike Olson walked twice.

LITCHFIELD BLUES 2  ATWATER CHUCKERS 1  (6/29/16 @ Litchfield)

The Blues topped County Line League foe the Chuckers, behind the pitching performance by Kaleb Kalkbrenner, Austin Larson and Ross Wendlandt. Kaleb started and he went 3 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 1 walk, 1 run. Austin threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he had two strikeouts. Ross Wendlandt threw 3 innings of relief, to earn the win, he gave up 1 hit and he had 2 strikeouts. Carson Deal and Dylan Koll had big games, Carson went 3-4 with a RBI and Dylan went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs. Jacob Johnson had a good game, he went 2-4 with a RBI and Derek Koll went 1-3 with a double and a walk. Dylan Kotzer went 1-3 and Jake Schultz walked twice. It was in the bottom of the 9th inning, Jacob Johnson had a walk off single to drive in scored by Dylan Koll.

For the Chuckers, Scott Borman started on the mound, he went 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 2 walks and 1 run and he had one strikeout. Austin Hadley threw 2 2/3 innings of relief, he walked 2 and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Vance Martin threw the final inning, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 1 hit, 1 run and he had one strikeout. Ryan Walsh went 1-4 with a double and Jordan Tanner went 1-4 with a RBI. Jordan Olson went 2-4 and Michael Melvin went 1-5. Justin Schroeder went 1-4, Jeff Peterson went 1-4 and Matt Tanner scored a run.

SAUK RAPIDS CYCLONES 10  ST. JOSEPH JOES 10  (Called Darkness) (6/29/16 @ St. Joe)

The Cyclones and the Joes ran out of day light in this one, The Cyclones took an early lead and the Joes game back to tie the game. Evan Warnert started on the mound for the Cyclones, he threw 6 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Nate Friehammer thew 2 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit and he had one strikeout.  Evan had a good game at the plate, he went 3-5 and he scored 2 runs and Tyler Bjork went 2-4 with a 3 run homer, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Eric Burski went 2-4 with a stolen base and he scored 2 runs and Lucas Benstrand went 1-3 with a walk. Zach Fuecher had a very good game, he went 3-5 with a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Paul Schlangen went 1-4 with a walk, Jessie Lavoi went 1-5 and Derek Sauer had a sacrifice fly for a RBI.

For the Joes Nathan Mohs started on the mound, he threw 6 innings and he recorded 4 strikeouts.  Joey Stock threw 3 innings of relief, he recorded 5 strikeouts. Alex Kendell had a good game at the plate, he went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI’s, he walked and he scored 2 runs. Joey Stock went 2-4 with a double and a sacrifice fly for 4 big RBI’s. Ethan Carlson went 2-4 with a double, he walked and scored a run and Ben Alvord went 2-4 and he walked once. Michael Tiede walked twice and he scored 2 runs, Ben Overboe was hit by a pitch and Justin Barg walked and he had a sacrifice bunt.
