WATKINS CLIPPERS 9  COLD SPRING ROCKIES 5  (8/12/16 @ Watkins)

The Clippers pounded out 14 hits and and a good pitching performance by Matt Geislinger help defeat their Central Valley rivals the Rockies. This win puts the Clippers into the region championship. Matt threw a complete game, scattered 8 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Kevin Kramer led the offense, he went 3-5 with a pair of RBI’s, he had a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Veteran Dan Berg had a good game,  he went 2-5 with 2 RBI’s, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Heath Kramer went 1-5 with a big double to drive in two runs and Brendan Ashton went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Matt Geislinger went 2-3. Adam Hiltner went 1-4 with a walk, two stolen bases and he scored a run and Brian Benson went 1-2 with a walk, a stolen base and he scored a run. Lincoln Haugen went 2-4 with a RBI and he had a sacrifice bunt and Gary Peters went 1-4 and he scored a run.

The Rockies did collect 8 hits and they put up 5 runs in the top of the 8th inning, Luke Stang started on the mound for the Rockies, he threw 5 1/3 innings, he scattered 11 hits, walked 2, he gave up 7 runs and he recorded one strikeout. Trevor Lardy threw 2 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he had 1 strikeout. Kevin Wenner went 3-4 and he scored a run and Jake Hennen went 1-4 with a big triple to drive in 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning. David Jonas went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s and he scored a run and Jordan Neu went 1-3. Marshall Wirtzfeld went 1-4 and he scored a run and Cole Field went 1-4 and he scored a run. Calvin Kalthoff had a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Mike Holbrook earned a walk.

LUXEMBURG BREWERS 9  SACRED HEART SAINTS 3 (8/13/16 @ Watkins)

The Brewers defeated their Corn belt foe the Saints behind a 14 hit attack and the pitching performances by Austin Klaverkamp and Derrik Orth. Austin threw 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 2 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Derrik closed it out with an inning of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 run and he had a strikeout. Isaac “Zeek” Matchinsky continued his hot hitting, he went 3-4 with a pair of doubles for 3 RBI’s, he walked and  he scored a pair of runs. Player/Manager Cory Wenz went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Ethyn Fruth went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Chase Aleshire went 2-4 with a double, he walked, had a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. He continued to make some sensational plays at shortstop. Sam Iten went 2-4 with a walk, a stolen base and he scored a run, Colton Fruth went 2-5 and Derrik Orth went 1-4, he scored a run and he earned a walk. Luke Harren had a RBI and he earned a walk and Nick Baker earned a walk.

The Saints starting pitcher Jeremy Hinderks, thew a complete game, he scattered 14 hits, walked 5 and he had 3 strikeouts. Tom Lippert went 2-4 with a home run for 2 RBI’s and Jeremy Hinderks went 3-4 with a double and he scored a run. Mike Johnson went 1-4 with a double and Ramon Gonzalez-Rosario went 1-5 with a double and he scored a run. Nate Hebrink went 2-4 and Trent Novotny went 1-5.

RAYMOND ROCKETS 8  ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 6  (8/13/16 @ Watkins)

The Rockets defeated their Central Valley foes the Gussies, behind the pitching efforts by Cole Christenson and Tyler Knott. Cole started, he threw 4 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 3 walks and 6 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Tyler Knott threw 5 innings of relief to earn the win, he gave up just 2 hits and he recorded 5 strikeouts. The Rockets had a 12 hit attack led by Jordan Smith, he went 2-5 with a 3 big RBI’s. Mike Jeseritz went 2-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI, had a stolen base, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Eric Hulterstrum went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Justin Koenen went 2-5 and he scored a pair of runs. Kyle Knott went 1-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Brett Swanson went 1-4 with a pair of stolen bases. Cal Kominskas went 1-3 with a walk and Austin Smith went 1-1 with a double. Tyler Steen was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and John Sawatzky had a sacrifice fly and he scored a run.

The Gussies starting pitcher was Travis Laudenbach, he threw 1 inning, he gave up 7 hits and 6 runss and he had a strikeout. Aaron Fruth threw 7 innings of relief, he gave up 5 hits, 2 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Dustin Schulzetenburg had a good game he went 3-5 and he scored a pair of runs. Adam Gwost went 1-4 with 1 RBI’s and Aaron Fruth went 1-3 with a RBI, he walked and scored a run. Brady Grafft went 2-4 and Nate Gwost went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s and he scored a run. Marcus Lomel went 1-5 and he scored a run and Nate Laudenbach earned 2 walks and he scored a run.

RAYMOND ROCKETS 9  LUXEMBURG BREWERS 7  (15 Innings) (8/13/16 @ Watkins)

The Rockets continued their marathon weekend, they defeated a young Central Valley League team the Brewers. They were backed by a pair of pitching performances by Alex Lotthammer and John Sawatzky. Alex started, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 3 walks, 5 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. John threw 10 innings of relief to earn the win, he scattered 7 hits, 3 walks, gave up 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. The Rockets pounded out 23 hits; led by Mike Jeseritz, he went 6-8 with a double for 3 big RBI’s and a catch that would surely make the Major League Web Jams, he robbed a potential home run in the bottom of the 15th inning. I did hear from some sources that Watkins maybe charging Mike for the damage to the fence. Eric Hunterstrom went 3-7 with a big double for 3 RBI’s, he drove in their go ahead runs in the top of the 15th. Kyle Knott went 3-7 with a double for a RBI and Brett Swenson went 3-8 with a triple for a RBI. Austin Smith went 2-5 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run and Cal Kominskas went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked 3 times and he scored  run. Tyler Steen went 2-7 with a double and he scored a pair of runs, Justin Koenen went 2-8 and he scored a run and Jordan Smith went 1-8 and he scored a run.

The Brewers starting pitcher, Sam Iten threw 7 innings, he scattered 16 hits, walked 5, gave up 6 runs and he had a strikeout. Lefty Austin Klaverkamp threw 8 innings of sensational relief, he gave up just 4 hits, one walk, 3 runs and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Isaac Matchinsky went 3-7 with a pair of RBI’s and Sam Iten went 4-8 with a double for a RBI and he scored 3 runs. RAYMOND ROCKETS 2  COLD SPRING ROCKIES 1 (8/13/16 @ Watkins)

The Rockets in their third game of the day, defeated their Central Valley foes the very young Rockies behind the pitching performances by veteran Zach Nelson, Cal Kominskas and Cole Christenson. Zach Nelson the 43 year old, right hander, threw 5 innings, he gave up scattered 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Cal threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 walks and he had 2 strikeouts to earn the win. Cole Christensen threw the 9th inning to earn the save, he gave up one walk and he had a pair of strikeouts. The Rockets were led by Justin Koenen, he went 3-5 with a double, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Tyler Steen went 2-4 and he scored a run and Cal Kominskas went 2-3 with a sacrifice bunt. Tyler Knott went 1-4, Kyle Knott went 1-4 and Brett Swanson had a sacrifice bunt.

The Rockets starting pitcher, eighteen year old lefty, Ryan Hennen, scattered 8 hits and he recorded 11 strikeouts. A very good pitching performance against a veteran team. The young Rockies were led on offense by Calvin Kalthoff went 2-3 with a double, a sacrifice bunt and he scored their lone run. Dylan Tebrake went 1-3 with a RBI, he walked and had had a stolen base. Marshall Wirtzfeld earned a walk, Cole Field had a stolen base, Mike Holbrook walked and had a stolen base and Jake Hennen was hit by a pitch.

RAYMOND ROCKETS 6  WATKINS CLIPPERS 4 (8/14/16 @ Watkins)

The Rockets defeated their Central Valley League foes the Clippers in only their fourth game of the weekend. The Rockets were led by the pitching performances by: Herman Solomon, Alex Lotthammer and Cal Kominskas. Herman started, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 3 walks, 2 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Alex threw 3 innings of relief, he scattered 6 hits, 2 walks, gave up 2 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Cal threw the final inning to earn the save, he walked one and he recorded one strikeout.  The Rockets collected 12 hits, led by Justin Koenen, he went 3-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Mike Jeseritz continued his hot hitting, he went 3-4. Brett Swanson went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Eric Hulterstrom came up with another huge hit, he went 1-4 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he scored a run. Jordan Smith went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Cal Kominskas went 1-3 and he scored a run.

The Clippers starting pitcher, lefty veteran Dan Berg battled the Rockets for 9 innings, he scattered 12 hits, no walks and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Gary Peters had a good game, he went 3-3 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Kevin Kramer went 2-4 with a walk and a pair of stolen bases. Dan Berg went 2-4 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Heath Kramer went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run. WATKINS CLIPPERS 6 RAYMOND ROCKETS 1 (8/14/16 @ Watkins)

The Clippers defeated their Corn Belt League rivals the Rockets to earn the Region 11C championship. They were led by veteran right hander pitching performance, Heath Kramer. He threw a complete game, gave up scattered 8 hits, walked one and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Veteran Dan Berg led the offense, he went 2-5 with a pair of RBI’s and Kevin Kramer went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a pair of runs and he continued to cover a lot of ground in his center field position. Brian Benson went 1-2 with a RBI, he walked twice and he scored a run and Brendan Ashton went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run. Heath Kramer went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run, Adam Hiltner went 1-4 and he scored a run and continue his solid play at shortstop and Matt Geislinger was hit by a pitch.

The Rockets starting pitcher in their fifth game of the weekend was Cal Kominskas, he threw 6 innings, he scattered 8 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 3 strikeouts and he was pitcher of record. Brandon Wedel threw inning of relief, he walked one and he recorded 2 strikeouts and Tyler Knott  threw 2 innings and he recorded one strikeout. Jordan Smith went 2-3 with a double and Brett Swanson went 2-4. The former Bison catcher, Tyler Steen went 2-4 and he scored a run, Mike Jeseritz went 1-4 with a RBI and Cole Christensen went 1-4.

The Saints defeated their Lakewood league rivals the Cyclones, behind their veteran right hander, Brad Haag. Brad started and he threw 6 innings, he scattered 5 hits, 4 walks, gave up 2 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts to earn the win. Dominic Austing threw 3 innings to earn the save, he gave up 3 hits, 3 walks and he recorded 4 strikeouts. With this win the Saints qualify for state for the 3rd year in a row. Tom Imholte went 2-5 and he scored a run and Steve Neutzling went 2-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk. Tommy Auger went 1-3 with a RBI, he walked and he had a stolen base. Nick Maiers went 1-3 with 2 walks and he scored a run and Brian Minks went 1-5 and he scored 2 runs. Nick Hengel went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run, Ryan Schneider had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he walked and Waylon Bemboom walked and he was hit by a pitch.

The Cylones did leave several runners stranded on the bases, including in the 9th inning where they left the bases loaded. The Cyclones starting pitcher, Brett Degange threw 5 innings, he gave up 10 hits, 6 runs, walked 6 and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Jeff Hille, threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Mitch Loegering had a good game, he went 3-4 with a walk and he scored a run. Tyler Long went 2-5 and he scored a run. Paul Schlangen went 1-4 with a walk and Joel Haller went 1-3 with 2 walks. Lucas Bertrand earned 2 walks, Tyler Bjork earned one walk and Bryce Gapinski earned a walk.

COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 3  BEAUDREAUS SAINTS 1  (8/13/16 @ Cold Spring)

The Springers defeated their Lakewood and regional rivals the Saints, backed by some very good defensive play and good pitching performances by: Mathias Butala, Jack Arnold and Chris Butala. Mathias started and by plan threw 2 innings, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Jack threw 6 innings to earn the win, he scattered 6 hits, gave up one run, no walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Chris threw 1 inning of relief to earn the save, he walked one and he recorded one strikeout. Jeron Terres had a good game he went 2-4 with 2 big RBI’s, he played a great game at 3rd base. Eric Loxtercamp went 2-3 with a double and he earned a walk. Alex Jungels went 1-2, with a walk, a stolen base and he scored two runs. Joe Dempsey went 1-2 with a pair of sacrifice bunts and he scored a run and he called a great game behind the plate. Drew VanLoy went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch and Garrett Fuchs went 1-5. Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-3 with a RBI, a very good bunt to drive in a run and he made some very good plays at shortstop. Brain Hansen, earned a pair of walks and he is becoming the Eddie Rosario of the Twins and he threw another runner out at home.

The Saints starting pitcher Brindley Theisen threw 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 3 runs and he recorded three strikeouts. Chris Koenig threw one inning of relief, he gave up a hit and he walked two. The Muskies defeated their Sauk Valley League rivals the Joes, behind the nearly perfect game by lefty Johnny Schumer and three big home runs. Johnny threw a complete game, he gave up just 1 hit, surrendered no walks and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Jake Sweeter had big game, he went 3-4 with home run and a sacrifice fly for 4 big RBI’s and he scored a pair of runs. Tim Burns had a 2 run home run and a total of 3 RBI’s, he walked and he scored 3 runs. Andrew Deters went 1-3 with a big 2 run home run and he earned a walk and Jace Otto had a good game going 3-5 with a RBI. Adam Schellinger went 1-3 with a  walk and he scored a run and brother Brian Schellinger scored a pair of runs. Grant Lahn earned a walk and he scored a run and Luke Sweeter earned a walk and he called a great game behind the plate.

The Joes starting pitcher Greg Anderson, threw 3 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, walked one and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Mike Ashwill threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 5 hits, 7 runs, walked 5 and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Tyler Mueller went 1-3 for the Joes.

The Lumberjacks defeated Eastern Minny foe the Snappers behind the combine pitching efforts by Mike Plante and Brandon Buesgens, a draftee from the Clear Lake Lakers. Mike threw 7 innings, he scattered 5 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 8 strikeouts, to earn the win. Brandon threw 2 innings of relief to earn the save, he gave up 3 hits and one walk. They put up 4 runs in the 4th inning and they held off the Snappers. Brandon Moren went 1-4 with a 2 big RBI’s and he scored a run. Mitch Keeler went 1-3 with a pair of stolen bases and Tony Stay went 1-3 with a walk and a he scored a run. Mike Plante went 1-4 with a stolen base and Joe Ziwicki was hit by a pitch and he had two stolen bases. Rich Rasmussen walked and he scored a run, Cameron Jurek had a sacrifice bunt and Sam Keeler earned a walk.

The Blue Devils defeated Eastern Minny foe the Stone Poneys, behind the good pitching effort by Asa Paterson. He threw a complete game, he scattered 6 hits, no walks and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Adam Burgess had a big game, he went 2-5 with a RBI, a stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Logan Graves went 3-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Greg Chmiel went 2-4 and Ryan VanSomeren went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Bryce Norby went 2-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Sean Graff went 2-5 and he scored a run. Aaron Oslin went 2-4 with a walk and he scored 2 runs and Logan Orazem went 1-3 and he earned a walk.

The Stone Poneys starting pitcher Terry Hadden, a draftee from Nowthen, threw 3 1/3 innings, he gave up 9 hits, 7 runs, 2 walks and he had a strikeout. Nathan Niernehausen threw 5 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up just 4 hits, one run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Jim Gabrielson went 2-3 and Alex O’Leary went 1-3 with a double. FOLEY LUMBERJACKS 7 MORA BLUE DEVILS 4  (8/13/16 @ Sartell)

The Lumberjacks defeated their Eastern Minny foe the Blue Devils for the second time in regional action, to punch their ticket for the state tourney. Cameron Jurek, started on the mound for the Lumberjacks, he threw 7 innings, he scattered 3 hits, walked 7 and he recorded 6 strikeouts to earn the win. Crafty 46 year old, Play/Manager Mike Beier earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 2 strikeouts.

Mitch Keeler had a big game for the Lumberjacks, he went 3-3 with a double for 2 big RBI’s. Play/Manager Mike Beier went 2-3 with a RBI and scored 1 run.  Cameron Jurek went 1-4 with a RBI. Erin Von Wohdale had a RBI by way of a fielder’s choice and Noah Winkleman went 1-3 with walk and he scored a run, Tony Stay walked and he scored a run and Joe Ziwicki walked and he scored a run.

He threw a complete game, he scattered 7 hits, 2 walks, and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Mitch Keeler had a good game, he went 2-5 with a two big RBI’s and he scored a run. Mike Plante went 2-5 with a double for 2 big RBI’s. Jordan Bialke went 2-4 with a RBI and he earned a walk and Brandon Moren went 2-5 and he scored a run. Tony Stay went 1-3 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Adam Wenker earned the win, he threw 6 innings, he scattered 3 hits, no walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. David Deminsky threw the final inning in relief, he walked one and he recorded 3 strikeouts. The Regal Eagles defeated their Stearns County foe the Saints, backed by a 12 hit attack, great defense and the good pitching performance by Chris Beier. He threw a complete game, he scattered 9 hits, walked one and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Three big home runs led the Eagles offense, in the 1st inning, Nathan Meyer hit a 2 run homer to give the Eagles a quick 2-0 lead. In the third inning, a pair of solo home runs were hit by: Shane Rademacher, he went 2-5 and Chris Beier’s home run, to give the Eagles a 4-0 led.Jordan Beier went 3-5 and he scored a run, Josh Beier went 2-4 and Nathan Beier went 1-4.

The Saints left 11 runners stranded, they couldn’t get any timely hits, as the Eagles corner defense was sensational. Ethan Vogt started on the mound for the Saints, he scattered 12 hits, one walk and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Kevin Kuefler went 1-3 with a triple and a sacrifice fly. Pat Illies went 2-4 with a double and Matt Middendorf went 1-5 with a double. James Kuefler went 1-3 with a walk and Cody Eichers went 1-3. A. J. Hadley went 1-5, Austin Hadley went 1-3 and Ethan Vogt went 1-4.

FARMING FLAMES 11 NL-S TWINS 1  (8 Innings) (8/13/16 @ Paynesville)

The Flames defeated their Corn Belt League foe the Twins behind the pitching performance by left hander Brad Mergen. He threw  8 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 9 strikeouts. This win punched their ticket to the state tournament. The Flames did collect 13 hits, they put up 6 runs in the top of the eighth inning to end the game. Craig Klein had a big game, he went 3-4 with 4 big RBI’s and Father Aaron Nett went 1-3 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he walked once. Max Carlson went 1-4 with a 2 RBI’s and he scored a run and Joel Klein went 2-3 with a walk and he scored 2 runs. Chris Wehseler went 2-3 and he was hit by a pitch and Mitchell Thelen went 1-2 with a walk, a stolen base, he was hit by a pitch and he scored 2 runs. Taylor Fourre went 1-4, he scored a run and he was hit by a pitch and Mike Kotten went 1-1 with a RBI. Tylor Schroeder went 1-1 with a RBI and Cody Fourre walked and he scored a run. Eric Schmitt, Josh Christan, Josh Linn and Carey Shay all scored runs in the 8th inning as a pinch runner.

The Twins starting pitcher, Patrick Courtney threw 4 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 3 walks, 5 runs and he had one strikeout. Nathaniel Swoyer threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 5 hits, 5 runs and he had one strikeout. Andy Toop a draftee from the Starbuck Bucks threw 1/3 of a inning, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and one run. Jake Damhof went 1-2 with a double and he scored a run and Ben Kulset went 1-4. The Martins defeated their Stearns County South rivals the Royals in a very good ball game. All the runs were scored in the first inning, but there was a lot of close calls and some fire works all the way thru 2nd thru the 9th inning. The Martins starting pitcher, Ben Schroeder threw a complete game, he scattered 7 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Jordon Moscho went 1-2 with a RBI and he walked and Bryan Schlangen had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Taylor Holthaus went 2-4  and Kyle Lieser went 1-4 an he scored a run. Austin Acreneau went 1-3 and Matthew Schlangen went 1-2 with a sacrifice fly.

The Royals starting pitcher, D. J. Schliecher threw a complete game, he scattered 6 hits, and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Dan Hanson went 1-4 with a RBI and Adam Backes went 2-3 with a walk, a stolen base and he scored a run. Scott Ruegemer went 2-4 and Cole Schmitz went 1-3 with a walk. Dusty Adams went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly, Alex Budde earned a walk and Cory Niewind was hit by a pitch.

The Martins defeated their second Stearns County South foe the Flames, behind the pitching of Jaylyn Arceneau. He threw a complete game, he scattered 10 hits, he walked 4 and he recorded 7 strikeouts. The Flames took a early lead with a pair of early runs, but Kyle Lieser’s grand slam in the 4th inning gave the Martins a big edge. Kyle went 2-4 with his grand slam for four big RBI’s and Jordan Moscho went 4-5 and he scored a run. Bryan Schlangen went 2-3, with 2 walks and he scored a run and Scott Schlangen went 1-4 and he scored a run. Josh Stangler went 1-5 and Matthew Schlangen went 1-4, he walked, had a stolen base and he scored a run. Austin Arceneau went 1-3 with a walk, stolen base and he scored a pair of runs and Jaylyn Arceneau walked twice and he had a sacrifice fly.

The Flames starting pitcher, Kyle Zierden threw 3 2/3 innings, he gave up 4 hits, he walked 5, gave up 5 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Taylor Fourre threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 5 hits, 2 walks, 3 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Jordan Roos, a draftee from the Roscoe Rangers, threw the final 2 1/3 innings, he gave up 3 hits. Brad Mergen went 2-4 with a 2 run home run and Max Carlson went 2-3. Chris Wehseler went 1-4 and Mitchell Thelen went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run. The Saints topped their Stearns County rivals the Martins, behind the pitching performances by Veteran Aaron Vogt and Austin Imdieke. Aaron threw 6 innings, he scattered 5 hits, 2 walks  and he recorded 6 strikeouts to earn the win. Austin threw 3 innings to earn the save, he gave up 3hits, 2 runs and he recorded 2 strikeouts.  Matt Middendorf went 3-4 with a sacrifice for a RBI and he was hit by a pitch and A. J. Hadley went 1-3 with a RBI, had a sacrifice bunt and he earned one walk. Austen Hadley went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run and Cody Eichers went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs. Matt Schmitz went 1-3 and Pat Illies went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s, James Kuefler went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Ethan Vogt had a sacrifice bunt.

The Martins starting pitcher, Brent Heinen, a draftee from the Roscoe Rangers, threw 6 1/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 1 walk, 3 runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Scott Schlangen threw 1 2/3 innings, he gave up 8 hits, and 3 runs and Taylor Holthaus threw 1 inning and he recorded one strikeout. ELROSA SAINTS 7 REGAL EAGLES 6  (8/14/16 @ Paynesville)

The Saints defeated their County Line foe the Eagles to win the Region 15C championship. Austen Hadley started on the mound for the Saints, he threw 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 3 walks, 6 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Brady Weller threw 3 innings to earn the win, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk and he had 2 strikeouts.  The Saints trailed the whole game, but they kept coming back and in the ninth inning to get 2 runs, with the winning run scored on Austen Hadley’s ground ball that had seeing eyes into left field. Cody Eichers had a good game, he went 3- with a double, a stolen base and he scored a run. Veteran Pat Illies went 3-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Matt Schmitz went 2-4 with a big 2 run home run for a pair of RBI’s. Austen Hadley went 1-4 with a pair of big RBI’s and he earned a walk and Matt Middendorf 1-3 with a stolen base, he was hit twice by a pitch and he scored a run. Ethan Vogt went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly and he scored a run, Kevin Kuefler went 1-2, he was hit twice by a pitch and he scored a run and James Kuefler had a RBI and a pair of sacrifice bunts.

The Eagles starting pitcher, Shane Rademacher, threw 3 innings, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Jordan Wosmek gave up a hit, 2 runs and he hit a batter.
