LOCAL BASEBALL ROUNDUP

Back for a third season with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) baseball reports. The plan is to continue to include: Lakewood League, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South, Eastern Minny West and Stearns County South teams thru out their league playoffs, regional and state tourney games. Check out the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Web site for additional information. Look for Play Off brackets to be posted at and updates thru the league playoffs, regional and state tourney games.

LAKEWOOD LEAGUE

COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 15 BRAINERD BEES 0  (7 Innings)   (7/27/16 @ Cold Spring)

The Springers defeated their Lakewood and Region 7B rival the Bees. The Springers pounded out 15 hits and 7 walks issued by the Bees and helped them to put up 15 runs on the scoreboard. Chris Butala threw a complete game, he gave up 6 hits, no walks and he recorded a strikeout. Brain Hansen had a very good game, he went 3-4 with a triple for 2 RBI’s, he scored 4 runs and he earned one walk. Brad Olson had a good game, he went 2-3 with 3 RBI’s, he walked twice and he scored two  runs. Tyler Geislinger had a good game, he went 3-4 with a triple and a double for 2 RBI’s. Zach Femrite had good game, he went 2-4 with a home run or about 385′, he scored a pair of runs and he walked once. Jack Arnold went 3-3, he walked and he scored a run and Jeron Terres went 1-3 with  2 RBI’s and he walked once. Joe Dempsey had a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Alex Jungels earned a walk, he scored a run and he had a RBI, Max Fuchs went 1-1 and Jordan Barth had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he scored a run.

The Bees starting pitcher was the pitcher of record.  Blake Peterson  threw 1 2/3 innings. Veteran Tim Martin threw 4 1/3 innings of relief for the Bees. Kevin Peterson went 2-3 and Blake Peterson went 1-3. Joel Martin went 1-3, Bryce Flanagan  went 1-3 and Tyler Lenz went 1-3 for the Bees.

SAUK RAPIDS CYCLONES 3 BRAINERD BEES 1 (7/30/16 @ Sauk Rapids)

The Cyclones defeated their Lakewood league and Region rival the Bees, behind the good pitching effort by Brett Degagne and Tyler Bjork. Brett threw 6 innings and Tyler threw 3 innings. Tyler Bjork broke up a 1-1 tied with a single in the bottom of the 8th inning to drive in 2 runs.

COLD SPRING SPRINGERS 6  SAUK RAPIDS CYCLONES 3 (Suspended Game)  (7/30/16 @ Sauk Rapids)

The Springers topped their Lakewood league and region rivals the Cyclones, backed by the pitching performances by Mathias Butala and Jack Arnold. Mathias threw 2 2/3 innings, he gave up 3 hits and he had 2 strikeouts. Jack Arnold thew 6 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win. He gave up just 2 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Brain Hansen had a good game, he went 2-4 with a home run and a double, a stolen base.  Joe Dempsey went 1-3 with a double and a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Brad Olson went 1-3 with 2 walks and he scored a run, Zach Femrite went 1-5 and Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-4.

The Cyclones Andy Thayer started on the mound, he threw 6 innings, he gave up 9 hits and he recorded 4 strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Joel Haller went 2-3 with a stolen base and David Kroger went 1-3 with a RBI and a stolen base. Tyler Bjork went 1-3 and Tyler Long went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run. Mitch Loegering had a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt for a RBI.

The Springers topped their Lakewood League rival the Cyclones, backed by the good pitching performances by: Mathies Butala, Jake Arnold and Nick Pennick.  Matthies threw 3 innings, he faced just 9 batters and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Jack Arnold threw 5 innings of relief to earn the win, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk and he had 3 strikeouts. Nick Penick, a senior to be in high school, threw the final inning, he gave up 2 hits and a run.

Brian Hansen had a good game, he went 2-3 with a triple, he walked and he scored a run. Garrett Fuchs went 2-3 with a triple, he walked and he scored a run. Eric Loxteramp went 2-4 and Alex Jungels went 2-3 with a walk. Zach Femrite went 2-5 and Joe Dempsey went 1-4. Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-4 and Jeron Terres earned a walk.

Andy Thayer started on the mound for the Cyclones, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 3 runs and 1 walk. Jeremy Thorson threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk and 2 runs. Jeff Hille threw the final 2 innings, he faced 6 batters and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Mitch Loegering went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run and Paul Schlangen went 1-4. Joel Haller went 1-4 and Tyler Bjork had a RBI.

GRANITE FALLS KILOWATTS 8 ST. AUGUSTA GUSSIES 4 (7/30/16 @ Watkins)

The Gussies were defeated by their Corn Belt foe the Kilowatts, in a game where the Gussies held the lead after 7 innings, 4-2. The Kilowatts scored 4 runs in the 8th inning and they added one in the 9th inning. Tyler Kanten started on the mound for the Kilowatts, he thew 7 innings, he scattered 6 hits, 1 walk, 4 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Adam Brewers threw 2 innings of relief to earned the win, he walked 2 and he had one strikeout. Craig Listul had a good game, he went 3-5 with 2 home runs for 5 RBI’s and Tyler Dammann went 2-5 with a double for a RBI. Tyler Kanten went 1-3 with a RBI and he scored 2 runs and Austin Vikander went 1-4 with a RBI. Brandon Grund went 1-5 and he scored a run, Carter Asche went 1-5 and Dylan Lindstrom went 1-2.

The Gussies starting pitcher Travis Laudenbach, was their pitcher of record, he threw 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, 1 walk and he had 2 strikeouts. Zach Laudebach threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and 2 runs. Nate Laudenbach went 2-4 with a double for a RBI stolen base and Adam Gwost went 1-4 with a home run. Logan Alshire went 1-3 with a walk and he scored a run and Brady Grafft went 1-4 with a RBI. Aaron Fruth went 1-3 with a walk and Dustin Schultzenberg walked, had a stolen base and he scored a run.

EDEN VALLEY HAWKS 7 BIRD ISLAND BULLFROGS 4 (7/30/16 @ Watkins)

The Hawks pulled off a major upset, as they defeated a very good Bullfrog team, behind the good pitching performance by Tanner Olean. He threw a complete game, he scattered 8 hits, walked 3, gave up 3 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Alex Geislinger went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs and Austin Schlangen went 1-4 with a RBI. Jake Anderson went 1-3 with a RBI and Dan Sargent went 1-4 with a walk, stolen base and he scored 3 runs. Tanner Olean went 1-4, he scored 2 runs and he was hit by a pitch and Josh Schumacker went 1-1.

The Bullfrogs starting pitcher, Luke Kramer, threw 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, walked one, gave up 7 runs and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Dylan Gass threw 4 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 2 strikeouts.  Dylan Gass went 3-5 with a double for a RBI and Tyler Hebrink went 2-4 with a double for a RBI and he walked. Austin Weis went 2-3 with a double for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Jake Pettit went 1-3 and he scored a run.

RAYMOND ROCKETS 12 PEARL LAKE LAKERS 0  (7 Innings) (7/30/16 @ Watkins)

The Rockets defeated their Central Valley League foe the Lakers, back by a 15 hit attack and a good pitching performance by Cole Christenson. He threw all 7 innings, he gave up just 2 hits and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Kyle Knott had a big game, he went 3-4 with a home run and 6 big RBI’s. Eric Hulterstrum had a good game, he went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he scored a run. Justin Koenen went 3-4 with a double for a RBI, he walked and a stolen base, he scored 3 runs. Mike Jeseritz went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Cole Swanson went 1-4 with a RBI and 2 stolen bases and he scored a run. Tyler Steen went 1-4 with a double for a RBI, he walked, he a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Jordan Smith went 2-2 with a double, a walk and he scored a pair of runs and John Sawatzky went 1-4 and he scored a run.

The Lakers starting pitcher, Derrick Garding was the pitcher of record, he gave up 12 hits, 11 runs and he walked 3. Preston Peglow threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Steve Krippner wen 1-2 and Mitch Wieneke went 1-2.

LUXEMBURG BREWERS 6  ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 5 (7/30/16 @ Cold Spring)

The Brewers defeated their Central Valley League rivals the Nicks in a very exciting game. Mitch Ergen started on the mound for the Brewers, he threw 7 innings, he scattered 7 hits, walked 2, gave up 3 runs and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Chase Aleshire thew the final 2 innings in relief to earn the save. He gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Chase did a great job, considering he has only pitched a few innings, like 4 during the season. Isaac Matchinsky had a great game, he went 4-4 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. Derrick Orth had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double for a RBI. Nick Baker went 2-4 with a double for a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Sam Iten went 2-5 and he scored a run, Chase Aleshire had a triple for a RBI and Ethyn Fruth went 2-3 and he scored a run.

The Nicks starting pitcher, Travis Hanson, threw 7 innings, he gave up 13 hits, 6 runs, no walks and he had one strikeout. Ron May threw the final inning in relief, he recorded one strikeout. Tanner Anderson had a good game, he went 3-5 and he scored a run and Jon Hofer went 2-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Jeff Lutgen went 1-4 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run and Robert Lutgen went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt. Derek Kuechle went 1-4, with a stolen base and he scored a run, Travis Hanson walked twice and he score a run and Adam Dingmann walked and he was hit by a pitch.

KIMBALL EXPRESS 11 WILLMAR RAILS 1  (7 Innings) (7/30/16 @ Cold Spring)

The Express defeated their Corn Belt foe the Rails behind the pitching performances of Matt and Zach Dingmann. Matt threw 6 innings, he scattered 9 hits, and he had recorded 4 strikeouts. Zach threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up 1 hit and he faced 4 batters. Adam Beyer went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Ben Johnson went 1-4 with a RBI. Scott Marquardt went 1-3 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he scored a run. Kyle Winter went 1-3 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Brian Marquardt walked 3 times and he scored 3 runs. Brooks Marquardt went 1-4 and he scored a run and Zach Sufka went 1-2 with a double, 2 walks and he scored a run. Austin Kuehle walked, 1 RBI and he scored a run, Jordan Joseph walked, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Troy Filzen was hit by a pitch and he scored a run.

The Rails starting pitcher was Damon Ruter, he threw all 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, 11 runs, 7 walks and he had 2 strikeouts. Tanner Thunstedt went 2-2 with a double, he walked and he was hit by a pitch. Damon Ruter went 2-4 and he scored their lone run and Josh Tinkeberg went 2-4. Josh Oestreich went 2-2 with a double for a RBI and he walked and Andrew Busch went 2-3.

The Rockies defeated their Corn Belt foe the Saints, behind lefty Ryan Hennen’s pitching performance and a 19 hit attack. Ryan, starting his first start in a amateur ball game, threw 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Trevor Lardy threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit and he had 2 strikeouts. Jake Hennen had a great game, he went 3-4 with 2 doubles for 3 RBI’s, he walked and scored 3 runs. Kevin Wenner went 3-6 with a triple for a RBI and he scored 2 runs. Jordan Neu went 3-6 with 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs and Dylan TeBrake went 3-4 with 2 RBI’s, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Calvin Kalthoff went 2-6 with 2 RBI’s and he scored a run and Cole Field went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run. Marshal Wirtzfeld went 1-5 with a RBI and Ryan Bell went 1-6 and he scored a run. The Clippers topped their Corn Belt foe the Kilowatts, behind Matt Geislinger good pitching performance. He threw 7 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 13 strikeouts. Dan Berg threw the final inning in relief, he face 3 batters and he recorded one strikeout. Heath Kramer had a good game, he went 3-4, and he scored a run. Lincoln Haugen went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Gary Peters went 2-5 with a RBI and he scored a run. Brendan Ashton went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs and Dan Berg went 1-4 with 3 RBI’s and he scored a run. Kevin Kramer went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Brian Benson went 1-2 with 2 RBI’s, he walked and he scored a run. Adam Hiltner went 1-4 with a RBI and he walked, Hunter Mathias went 1-1 and Travis Linn a run.

The Rockets defeated the Central Valley foe the Hawks, behind the pitching performance by lefty Alex Lotthammer. He threw 7 innings, he scattered 5 hits, 2 walks and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Mike Jeseritz had a good game, he went 4-4 with 2 RBI’s, he was hit by a pitch, had a stolen base and he scored 3 runs. Justin Koenen went 3-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored 2 runs. Kyle Knott went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s and he scored  a run and Jordan Smith went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for a pair of RBI’s and he walked once.

Brett Swanson went 2-4, he had a stolen base and he scored 2 runs and Tyler Steen went 1-5 with a double and he scored a run. Eric Hulterstrum went 1-3 with a stolen base and he scored 2 runs, Austin Smith went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Calvin Kosminskes went 1-3 with a walk.

Ben Theisen threw one inning of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 3 runs, one walk and he had one strikeout. Matthew Pennertz went 1-3, Jeff Haag went 1-3 and Matt Unterberger went 1-3. Austin Geislinger went 1-3 and Alex Geislinger went 1-3. Dan Sargent and Zach Schlangen both earned walks.

The Brewers defeated their Central Valley rivals the Express in a battle that included 34 hits in the game. Each team collect 17 hits, the Brewers were led by Isaac Matchinsky; he went 3-5 with a RBI and Sam Iten had a huge game, he went 4-5 with 3 RBI’s, a walk, a stolen base and he scored a run. Derrick Orth went 2-4 with a RBI and a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run and Chase Aleshire went 2-6 with 2 RBI’s and he scored a run. Luke Harren had good game, he went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s, a pair of walks and he scored 2 runs. Nick Baker went 1-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run, Colton Fruth went 1-4 with a walk and he scored a run. Austin Klaverkamp went 1-2, Ethyn Fruth went 1-2 with 2 sacrifice bunts and he scored a run and Mitch Ergen scored a run. Austin Klaverkamp started on the mound for the Brewers, he threw 4 innings, gave up 8 hits, 6 runs, 2 walks and he had 4 strikeouts. Sam Iten threw 5 innings of relief to earn the win, he scattered 9 hits, 2 walks, 3 runs and he had 3 strikeouts.

The Express starting pitcher was Ben Johnson, he threw 5 innings, he scattered 9 hits, 5 runs, 4 walks and he had 3 strikeouts. Jordan Joseph threw 4 innings of relief, he was the pitcher of record. He gave up 8 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks and he had 2 strikeouts. Jordan Joseph had a good game at the plate, he went 4-6 with 2 doubles for 2 RBI’s and he scored 3 runs. Adam Beyer had a good game, he went 4-5 with 5 RBI’s and he scored a run. Scott Marquardt went 2-4 with 2 walks and he scored 3 runs and Austin Ruehle went 2-5 with a walk and he scored a 2 runs. COLD SPRING ROCKIES 6  MILROY YANKEES 4 (7/31/16 @ Cold Spring)

The Rockies pulled off a pick upset, as they defeated the No. 1 seed from the Corn Belt the Yankees. Chris Lardy started on the mound, he threw 6 innings, scattered 10 hits, 1 walk, 4 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Chris did earn the win for his mound work and Luke Stang threw 3 innings of relief, he earned the save with a great performance, he gave up just 1 hit, walked one and he recorded 2 strikeouts.  The Rockies pounded out 13 hits against a pair of good Yankee pitchers. Calvin Kalthoff had a big day, he went 2-5 with a triple and a double for 3 RBI’s. Jordan Neu went 3-5 with a RBI, a stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Marshal Wirtzfeld went 3-4 and he scored 2 runs and Jake Hennen went 2-5. Kevin Wenner went 2-4 with a walk, stolen base and he scored a 2 runs and David Jonas went 1-5 with 2 RBI’s. Ryan Bell went 1-5 with a double and Dylan TeBrake went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch.

The Yankees starting pitcher, Nathan Deutz threw 5 innings, he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 11 hits, 5 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Austen Deutz threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Matt Bauer went 3-4 with a RBI, one walk and he scored a run and Dylan Criquet Danielson went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s and he was hit by a pitch. Andy Schmidt went 2-2 with a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Derek Rassmusen went 1-3 and he was hit by a pitch and Eric Dolan went 1-5. Riley Carpenter went 1-4, Derrick Allpress went 1-4 and Austin Kretsch had a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run.

ST. NICHOLAS NICKS 11 WILLMAR RAILS 10 (10 Innings) (7/31/16 @ Watkins)

The Nicks played  their second very exciting game of the weekend and they defeated the Rails in walk off fashion in the bottom of 10th. Player/Manger led off the 10th inning with his 4th hit of the game. Tanner Anderson advanced him to 3rd base and Joe Wehlage drove him in with his walk off single. Jon Hofer started on the mound, he threw 2 innings, Derek Kuechle threw 5 innings of relief and Cory Graft threw the final 3 innings to earn the win. Player/Manager Robert Lutgen had a great game, he went 4-6 with a RBI, 2 stolen bases and he scored 4 runs. Tanner Anderson went 3-4 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he had a sacrifice bunt. Joe Wehlage went 3-5 with 2 RBI’s and he walked and Derek Kuechle went 3-4 with a double and Travis Hanson went 2-5 with a double for a RBI and he scored a run. Jon Hofer went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored 2 runs, Matt Schott had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Jeff Lutgen earned a walk.

The Bullfrogs defeated their Central Valley League foes the Lakers, behind the pitching performances by Logan Sandgren and Jesse Bjur. Logan started, he threw 5 innings to earn the win, he scattered 6 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 7 strikeouts. Jesse threw 2 innings, he gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and he recorded 3 strikeouts.  Tyler Hebrink had a great game, he went 4-5 with 2 doubles for 5 RBI’s and he scored 3 runs. Shawn Dollerschell had a good game, he went 5-5 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he scored 4 runs. Lane Stadther went 2-5 with a triple for 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. The Muskies earned the Sauk Valley League championship by defeating their rivals the Joes. John Schumer started on the mound, he threw 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, he scattered 5 hits and he had no walks. Adam Wenker threw 1 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 2 strikeouts. David Deminski threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up 1 hit and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Max Kropek threw the final inning in relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded one strikeout. Brain Schellinger had a good game, he went 2-4 with a RBI, a walk and a stolen base. Cody Partch had a good game, he went 2-3 with a RBI and he walked. Tim Burns went 1-5 and Jonah Nebosis went 1-4. Andrew Deters went 1-5 and Grant Lahn went 1-3 with a walk. The Joes had hitting shoes on, as they defeated their Sauk Valley league rivals the Lumberjacks, backed by Ethan Carlson’s good pitching performance. He threw a complete game, he scattered 5 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Ben Alvord had a big game, he went 3-5 with a double and he scored 3 runs. Zach Overboe had a good game, he went 2-5 with 4 big RBI’s and he scored a run. Eric Vigil went 1-3 with 3 RBI’s, he walked, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. The Martins defeated their Stearns County rivals the Flames in a very close ball game. The Flames actually out hit the Martins 11-4, but 2 home runs by Taylor Holthaus  for 3 big RBI’s. Chas Hennen went 1-4 and Matthew Schlangen went 1-3. Austin Arceneau walked and he was hit by a pitch and Kyle Lieser walked twice and he scored a run. Scott Schlangen started the pitching duties, he threw 5 innings, he scattered 8 hits, 1 run and he had 2 strikeouts. Jaylyn Arceneau threw 3 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and he had one strikeout to earn the win. Taylor Holthaus threw the final inning to earn a save.

The Flames Kyle Zierden started on the mound, he threw 8 innings, he gave up just 4 hits, 3 walks, 3 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Taylor Fourre threw the final inning to close out the game. Ben threw 7 1/3 innings, he scattered 9 hits, 1 walk, gave up 2 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Bryan Schlangen thew the final 1 2/3 innings to earn the save, he did walk two. Kyle Lieser went 2-4 with a double, 2 stolen bases and he scored 4 runs. Taylor Holthaus went 1-2 with a double for a RBI and he walked twice, he score one run. Jordan Moscho went 1-3 with a RBI and Bryan Schlangen went 1-4 and he scored a run. Matthew Schlangen went 1-3 and Chas Hennen went 1-3.

The Flames defeated their league rivals the Lakers, behind the pitching performance by lefty Brad Mergen. He threw a complete game, he scattered 5 hits, walked 6 and he recorded 11 strikeouts. This was Brad’s ninth pitching win of this season for the Flames. Craig Kelin went 3-5 and he scored a run and Chris Wehseler went 1-3 with a RBI and he was hit by a pitch and Tyler Fourre went 1-3 with a RBI and he earned a walk. Aaron Einyck went 1-4 with a home run, Brad Mergen was 1-4 with a double and Mtich Schlangen went 1-5 and he scored a run. Cody Fourre went 1-4 and he scored a run and Mac Carlson earned a walk.

The Royals earned their way to the region tournament as they defeated their rivals the Lakers. Andy Bauer started on the mound, he threw 7 innings to earned the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2 and he had a strikeout. Alex Budde threw the final 2 innings in relief, he gave up 1 hit, no walks and he had one strikeout. Adam Backes went 2-5 with a double for 2 RBI’s, stolen base and he scored a run. Dusty Adams went 2-4 with a sacrifice fly for 2 RBI’s, a stolen base and he scored a run. The Lakers topped their Victory league South foe the Steves, backed by a good pitching performance by Chad Weiss and Reggie Litke. Chad threw 11 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, no walks, 1 run and he recorded 12 strikeouts. Reggie thew the final inning to earn the win. Reggie Litke went 4-6 with a double and a RBI and Chad Weiss went 3-6 and he scored a run. Brandon Lochner went 1-5 with a walk and Paul Herman went 1-5 with a stolen base. Dan Saehr went 1-6, Nathan Janson went 1-2 with a game winning RBI and he walked and scored a run and Jason Sudowsky walked 3 times and he scored a run.

The Billy Goats topped their Victory League South foe the Lakers, backed by a good pitching performance by Jeremy Monson. He threw a complete game, he gave up just 4 hits, no walks and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Mark Kahl went 2-4 with a home run for 4 big RBI’s and he was hit by a pitch. Pete Suska went 2-5 and he scored a run and Travis Kahl went 2-3 with 2 sacrifices and he scored a run. Shawn Lanners went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s and he walked and Joe Kahl went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Kyle threw 7 2/3 innings, he scattered 5 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 7 strikeouts, to earn the win. Adam Harlander threw the final 1 1/3 innings, he recorded 2 strikeouts. Caleb Curry went 2-3 with a RBI, 3 stolen bases, 2 walks and he scored 2 runs. Matt Meyer went 2-4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Carter Holthaus went 1-4 with a RBI and a stolen base and Riley Voit went 1-5 with a stolen base and he scored a run. Reed Voit went 1-4 with a RBI and he walked, Will Kleinschmitt went 1-4. The Skis topped their Victory League South foe the Steves in a very good ball game. Tyler Jendro started on the mound for the Skis, he threw a complete game, he gave up just 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 runs and he recorded 10 strikeouts. The hitting star was a 16 year old, Jake Kapphahn went 3-4 with a home run for 2 RBI’s. Joey Hanowski went 2-3 with a double and a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he earned a walk. Josh Wenzel went 2-5 and Jon Czech went 1-5. Riley Hirsch went 1-5 and he scored a run, Cullen Eickman went 1-5, Brad Czech was hit by a pitch and Tyler Jendro was hit by a pitch.

The Poneys defeated their West Minney League rivals the Knights, backed the pitching of Nathan Nierenhasuen, Steven Fish and Jeff Amann. Nathan threw 8 1/3 innings, he gave up just 4 hits, 9 walks, 5 runs and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Steven Fish gave up one walk and he retired one batter on a strikeout. Player/Manager Jeff Amann threw the final 1 1/3 innings, he gave up 1hit, 1 walk, 1 run and he had 2 strikeouts, to earn the win. It was the bottom of the 10th inning; when Player/Manager drove in the winning run with a walk off single. Jeff was 4-6 with a double for 2 big RBI’s and he scored a run. Rob Garbrielson went 3-4 with a triple for 2 RBI’s, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Alex O’Leary went 2-5 with 2 doubles for a RBI and Spencer Timm went 2-5 for a RBI. He threw 7 innings, he scattered 7 hits, 5 walks and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Sean Tillman had a great night, he went 3-5 with a home run, triple and a double for 6 RBI’s and he walked and scored a run. Teddy Fleming went 3-5 with a double for 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs and Rob Gabrielson went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s a sacrifice fly and he walked and scored a run. Brindley threw 3 innings of relief, to earn the save, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk and he recorded 4 strikeouts.
