Flames 8, Greenwald 1

Farming picks up a nice win at Greenwald Cubs Baseball on Sunday afternoon by a score of 8-1.

Isaac Nett went 3-for-4 with a homerun and a double, with two runs scored and four RBIs. Isaac also had a real hustle play in the fifth inning, scoring from second when Robert Schleper hit into a fielder’s choice.

Josh Becker went 2-for-3 with a double, and Will Mergen went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Ethan Navratil, Isaac Evenson, and Drew Lehner scored the other Farming runs.

Adam Winkels took the bump and went the first five innings and got the win, allowing a run on three hits while striking out 10. Breyden Einyck went four solid innings in relief to get the save, allowing no runs on one hit, while striking out a couple.

The Flames improve to 7-4 in the SCL-South and are currently in second place, a 1/2 game ahead of Richmond Royals Baseball Team.

Next weekend, Farming will conclude the regular season with a couple of games against Lake Henry. We host the Lakers on Friday night, 8:30pm, and travel to Lake Henry on Sunday, 1:30pm.

Adam Winkels got the win by going the first five innings, giving up a run on three hits, while striking out 10.  Breyden Einyck pitched the last four innings for the save, allowing no runs on just one hit, while striking out two.
