Flames 10, Meire Grove 5

After spotting the visiting Grovers three runs in the top of the first, the Flames roared back with nine consecutive runs on their way to a 10-5 victory on Friday night.

Isaac Nett was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI’s, while Will Mergen was 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and three runs scored.  Ethan Navratil was 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Tylor Schroeder finished 2-for-4.  Robert Schleper added an RBI double.

Ethan took the bump and went the distance for Farming, giving up eight hits.  He was helped defensively by a leaping grab of a liner by Braden Einyck, and by a diving grab of a foul popup in front of the home dugout by Josh Becker.

The Flames move to 4-3 on the season and are in third place in the SCL South.  Next up, second-place Richmond comes to town on Sunday for the Hall of Fame Game, where manager Dale Schroeder will be inducted.  First pitch is 1:30pm.
