The calendar hasn’t turned the page to June, but we’ve already seen a few wild things. Waconia dropped its first league game in two years and the Sartell Muskies lost a league game for the first time since who knows when.

Mayer turned in a terrific game to beat Waconia 1-0 while St. Joseph blanked the Muskies 7-0. Those losses didn’t have much impact on the rankings this time, but we do have a new No. 1.

Watkins has shot out of the shoots and climbed to the No. 1 spot after coming in at No. 6 in the preseason poll. The Clippers clipped Watertown, which held down the No. 1 preseason ranking. Meanwhile, Waconia remained at No. 3.

Maple Lake was another big mover, going from No. 9 to No. 4 in this edition of the rankings. The Lakers took the No. 4 spot from the Muskies, who slipped to No. 5.

St. Patrick has gotten off to a sluggish start and slumped down to the No. 6 ranking after starting the year at No. 2.

Fairmont remained at No. 7 behind one first-place vote while Montgomery received two votes to crack the top 10 at No. 8. The Mallards share the spot with Delano while the Milroy Yankees, Jordan and New Ulm all claim the No. 10 spot.

Check out where everyone else fell in with our pollsters.

Tom Elliott – Willmar

1. Watkins Clippers (3-0) — Watkins is off to a strong start in the Central Valley League. Matthew Geislinger just tossed a one-hitter against Eden Valley.

2. Waconia Lakers (2-0) — So far, so good for the Lakers.

3. Milroy Yankees (2-0) — The Yankees look like one of the top teams in the Corn Belt League.

4. Maple Lake Lakers (3-0) — Another team off to a strong start.

5. St. Martin Martins (2-0) — The Martins are one of the teams to watch in the Stearns County League.

6. Dassel-Cokato Saints (6-0) — The Saints might be off to the most impressive start in the state.

7. Avon Lakers (2-0) — One of the Victory League’s teams to watch.

8. Loretto Larks (1-0) — They’re expected to be good.

9. Jordan Brewers (2-1) — Jordan’s always a top team.

10. Bemidji Blue Ox

Kip Kovar – Howard Lake

1. Watertown Red Devils – There has been no hangover for the Red Devils since their magical run at state last summer. Watertown is off to a 4-0 start in CRVL play and has outscored their opponents 52-3 in those four games. The depth and pitching are still there and the Red Devils look like a scary team.

2. Delano A’s – Off to a nice start this season with a 4-1 record. Trevor Jaunich and Jack Paulson are absolutely on fire at the plate with batting averages over .600 through four games. Will this be the year the A’s find postseason success? Time will tell but they’re a very good team once again.

3. Sartell Muskies – Off to a nice start with a 3-1 record. Lone loss coming to St. Joseph. Expect the Muskies to be a postseason favorite again come August.

4. Watkins Clippers – Another team off to a fast start. Have already won three games via the 10-run rule. Another deep and talented team to watch.

5. St. Patrick Irish – Off to a slow start at 1-2 in the DRS. Won’t stay that way for long. Too much talent on this team.

6. Waconia Lakers – Another loaded CRVL team. Dropped a tough one to the Mayer Blazers last week. Talent is still there and pitching is too good. The Lakers will be one of the top teams in the CRVL and Class C by the end of the season.

7. Maple Lake Lakers – Another Lakers team in the rankings. Maple Lake is knocking the cover off the ball early on as they’ve scored 12 or more runs in three of their four games. The Lakers put up 22 in a win over Rockford this past weekend. We’ll see if they can keep it up as the schedule gets harder.

8. Plato Blue Jays – Sit at 3-0 in the CRVL early on. Good mix of veterans and young talent. Matt Odegaard back on the team bodes well for the Blue Jays. Looking to prove last year’s CRVL South title wasn’t a fluke and will be tested.

9. Buffalo Bulldogs – Off to a strong start in North Stat League play with one hiccup early on. A powerful offense that was held out of the state tournament this year. Expect them to compete for the NSL title this year.

10. New Ulm Brewers – One of the favorites in the Tomahawk East League. Should make some noise again this year.

Chad Knutson – Heron Lake Lakers

1. Watertown Red Devils

2. Watkins Clippers

3. Maple Lake Lakers

4. New Ulm Brewers

5. Jordan Brewers

6. Montgomery Mallards

7. Waconia Lakers

8. Sartell Muskies

9. St. Patrick Irish

10. Buckman Billygoats

Aaron Worm – Albert Lea

1. Fairmont Martins- Keeping them at number 1, for the 2nd straight poll

2. Waconia Lakers – 2-1 in the Crow to start the season

3. Watertown Red Devils – State Runners up last year and unbeaten in Crow

4. Watkins Clippers – Has started the season with 3 wins by the 10 run rule

5. St. Patrick Irish – off to a 1-2 start in the DRS, but still favorites to win the league

6. Sartell Muskies – Haven’t seen much for scores but will put the Muskies at 6

7. Montgomery Mallards – I am biased they are my hometown team, but the Ducks are 5-1, Quack Quack

8. Buckman Billygoats – Goats are 3-0 in the Victory

9. Dassel-Cokato Saints – I’ve heard they are good :)

10. Minnesota Lake Royals – 3-0 in League play
