This week it was unanimous that Sobieski is the top-ranked team in Class C. In the last poll the Skis received three of the four first-place votes and retained the top spot for the fourth straight poll. Sobieski has opened the Victory League playoff with a pair of dominating wins over Flensburg and Upsala.

What has changed is New Market’s spot in the rankings. The Muskies keep climbing up the poll and grabbed the No. 2 spot this week. The chatter has started that New Market is a serious contender for a Class C state title this year after winning just one game at last year’s state tournament. The Muskies did fall 5-3 to the eventual state champion Kimball to see their state tourney run end.

Sartell, which held the No. 2 spot in the July 3 poll, moved down to No. 3 following a 4-1 loss to New Market July 7.

Behind the strength of its record against Class C opponents Jordan moved up a spot to No. 4. The Brewers have lost just one game against Class C teams and picked up a 5-2 win over Northfield, a team ranked in the top five of Class B.

Maple Lake fell to the No. 5 position in the rankings despite winning the North Star League with a 16-2 record.

Plato continued its ascension in the poll and reached No. 6 this week and appear on track for a No. 1 seed in the Region 7 tournament.

New London-Spicer remained at No. 7 in the poll while the Milroy Yankees broke into the top 10 for the first time at No. 8 after putting together an 18-4 record.

Lastrup joined Milroy as another team to enter the top 10 rankings this season after going 14-1 and clinching a spot in the Region 8 tournament.

Carver stayed at No. 10 for the second straight week despite some struggles down the stretch.

Records were accurate at the time pollsters submitted their rankings.
