Brian Sprout hit a two-run home run and a stand up double as Miesville rolled past Anoka 12-2 in eight innings Friday in the Class B tournament.

Sprout launched the ball over the left field wall in the second inning for a 2-0 Mudhens lead in the bottom of the second inning.

Miesville added a run in the third inning after Austin LaDoux singled with two outs. After Deryk Marks got hit by a pitch, Ronnie Sweeney delivered a single down the right field line to score LaDoux.

Sprout added to the damage with a stand up double as the Mudhens went up 5-0 in the sixth inning. He later scored on a fielding error for a 6-0 lead amid a six-run inning for the Mudhens that pushed the lead to 9-0 at the end of the inning.

Deryk Marks started the sixth-inning offensive fireworks with a leadoff double for Miesville. Cooper Smith came in for Marks as pinch runner with two runners in scoring position. Smith darted home from third as Max Gamm hit an RBI single. LaDoux added the finishing touches of the 9-0 lead with a double.

Joey Werner ended the game in the eighth inning when he connected for a three-run shot. His home run came after Anoka had gotten a pair of runs in the top of the eighth to extend the game, but it didn’t last long.

Mudhens pitcher Riley Ahern earned the win, going six innings with four hits allowed and no runs allowed. Hunter Smith took the loss for the Bucs.

Anoka loaded the bases in the top of the seventh inning, but the Bucs’ best chance at that point ended on a pop up.

Miesville will play the winner of Dundas and Blaine on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Anoka’s season ended with the loss.
