Cold Spring Springers 5  Marshall A’s 4 (8/15)

The Springers topped the A’s, behind the pitching and hitting performance of Zach Femrite. The 

Springers found themselves down 2-0 after the first inning, after a 2 run homer by the A’s 

Andrew Kinney. The Springers did rally for 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning, it stayed 4-2 

until the 8th inning. The A’s pickup a run and in the 9th they tied it with a base hit by Justin 

Greenwood. Garrett Fuchs and Joe Dempsey each had base hits, a pass ball allowed the 

runners to move to 2nd and 3rd base and Zach Femrite and had a walk off base hit for the 

Springers.  Zach scattered 8 hits, walked 3 and he had 10 strikeouts, he surrendered 3 earned 

runs. The Springers overcome 5 errors in the game for the win. Travis McGlauflin was the 

pitcher of record for the A’s, he gave up 15 hits, and he record 5 strikeouts. Andrew Kinney went 

2-4 with his first inning home run, had a double in the 2nd inning and he walked. Austin Stubbs 

went 2-5 and he scored a run and Leo Zerr went 1-4 and he walked. Ben Korger went 1-4 with a 

double, scored a run and he was hit by a pitch.  Jordan Kontz went 1-4 with a RBI and a 

sacrifice bunt and Justin Greenwood went 1-4 with his RBI single in the 9th inning. Derek 

Buysse had a sacrifice bunt and Noah Winkelman scored a run. Both teams left 11 runners 

stranded on the bases.

St. Cloud Beaudreaus Saints 10 Sauk Rapids Cyclones 0 (7 in.) (8/15)

The Saints topped the Cyclones in their first round of Region 7B action backed by the great 

performances by Nick Maiers and Jeff Fasching. Lefty Nick Maiers threw 7 innings, he gave up 

just 4 hits, walked 3 and he had 12 strikeouts. Nick had a good day at the plate too, he went 2-4 

with a double for 2 RBI’s, walked and scored 3 runs. Another young left hander had a great day, 

Jeff Fasching went 2-4 with a home run and a double for 3 big RBI’s. Brian Minks went 2-4, he 

walked and scored 2 runs and was credited with a RBI. Brian Imholte went 1-4 with a RBI and 

Jason Kotschevar went 2-4 with a double and a sacrifice fly for a RBI, he walked and scored a 

run. Ryan Schneider went 1-2, he walked twice and he scored a run, Steve Neutzling went 1-3 

and he was hit by a pitch and Chad Hockemeyer walked and he was hit by a pitch. Andy Thayer 

was the pitcher of record for the Cyclones, Jeff Hille threw 3 1/3 innings of relief and Tyler Bjork 

threw 1 2/3 innings of relief. Tyler Long had a pair of base hits as he went 2-4. Matt Meyer went 

1-3 and Scott Geiger went 1-1. Kyle Hinkemeyer, Tom Wippler and Tyler Bjork all earned walks.

Luxemburg Brewers 8 Milroy Yankees 0 (8/14) Elimination Game

The Brewers topped the Yankees behind a 14 hits performance by the Brewers and the 

outstanding pitching performance by Austin Klaverkamp. The Brewers scored in 5 different 

innings, as they kept the pressure on the Yankees for nearly every inning. Austin Klaverkamp 

threw a complete game, giving up just 2 hits, walking 3 and he had 7 strikeouts. He faced 32 

batters, giving up 2 singles and the walks. Big Chase Aleshire had a huge game at shortstop 

and at the plate, he went 3-6 with 2 big doubles and he scored a run. Derrick “DO” Orth went 2-

5 with 2 big RBI’s, he walked and he scored a run. Player/Manager Cory Wenz had a big game 

as he helped get the Brewers on the board early, he went 2-5 with a pair of singles and a big 

RBI. Luke Harren had a good game, going 2-6 with a RBI and he scored a run. Colton Fruth did 

a great job behind the plate, he also went 1-4 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch, had a stolen 

base and he scored a run. Ethyn Fruth went 1-5 and he scored 2 runs, Nick Baker went 1-5 and 

Isaac Klaverkamp went 1-4 with a walk. The pitcher of record for the Yankees was Austin Duetz, 

he went 1 2/3 innings, gave up 5 hits, 2 walks and 3 runs. Josh Hadley threw 3 1/3 innings of 

relief, he gave up 5 hits, 1 walk, 3 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Nathan Duetz, had an 

impressive relief appearance of 4 innings, he gave up 4 hits, 2 runs, no walks and he had 9 

strikeouts. Andrew Mathiowitz and Riley Carpenter both got base hits and Matt Bauer, Aaron 

Mathiowitz and Chris Verdoes all walked.

Raymond Rockets 10 Sacred Heart Saints 0 (7 Inn.)(8/15) Elimination

The Rockets broke open a close game, it was 4-0 in the top of the 6th inning and then they went 

to work. They pounded out 15 hits in their win over the Saints, led by a huge game by Mike 

Jeseritz. He went 4-5 with 3 big RBI’s, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. The big right 

hander, Tyler Knott (6’9″) threw all 7 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 2 and he had 9 

strikeouts. Kyle Knott has a good game going 2-4 with a home run and he scored 2 runs. Jason 

Meyer went 2-4 and he scored 2 runs and John Sawatzky went 2-3 with a double, sacrifice bunt, 

scored 2 runs and he had a RBI. Austin Smith went 1-2 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a 

run, he had a sacrifice bunt and Jordan Smith went 1-4. Brandon Madson went 1-4 with a stolen 

base and he scored a run and Justin Koenen went 1-2 with a walk and a stolen base. Calvin 

Kosminkas went 1-3 with a with a sacrifice bunt and he scored a run. Jeremy Hinderks was the 

pitcher of record for the Saints, he threw the whole game, he gave up 15 hits, walked 2 and he 

had 5 strikeouts. Nate Hebrink got a base hit and a stolen base for the Yankees. Mitch Treml got 

a base hit and he had a stolen base. Darren Eschen got a base hit and Mike Kretsch walked.

 Watkins Clippers 6  Kimball Express 4 (10 Innings) (8/15)

The Clippers topped the Express behind the solid pitching performances by Taylor Nawrocki 

and Matt Geislinger. Taylor threw 9 innings, he scattered 8 hits, walked 1 and he had 9 

strikeouts. Matt Geislinger closed out the game with 1 inning of relief, he had 2 strikeouts. Gary 

Peters and Miah Kramer had great games for the Clippers at the plate. Gary went 3-5 with a big 

RBI, he drove in the go ahead run, he also scored a run and he had a stolen base. Miah also 

had a big RBI single early in the game, to drive in the Clippers first run of the game and he led 

off the 10th inning with a big base hit and scored the go ahead run. Dan Berg had another good 

game at the plate, as he went 3-5 and Kevin Kramer had a good game, he went 2-6 with a big 

RBI, he drove in the insurance run in the 10th inning. He had a stolen base and he scored a run. 

Adam Hiltner went 2-5 with a double and he scored a run and Brenden Ashton went 1-5 with a 

double and a RBI. Matt Geislinger went 1-5 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and he scored a run. 

Lincoln Haugen walked twice and Ryan Tri walked and he scored a run. Starting pitcher for the 

Express was Zach Dingmann, he went 7 innings, gave up 9 hits, walked 3 and he had 4 

strikeouts. Zach Kuefler was the pitcher of record, he gave up 5 hits in 3 innings of relief. Matt 

Dingmann had a good game, he went 1-4 with a double that drove in the first 2 runs of the game 

for the Express. Brian Marquardt went 1-5 with a RBI and he scored a run and Kyle Winter went 

1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Austin Ruehle went 2-4 and he scored a run and Brooks 

Marquardt went 2-5. Ben Johnson went 1-5 and he scored a run and Adam Beyer walked.

Raymond Rockets 7 Luxemburg Brewers 6  (8/15) Elimination Game

The Rockets topped the Brewers, to qualify for the state tournament, behind a veteran 

performance. The Rockets experience prevailed in this game, as they came from behind to 

score the tying runs and the go ahead runs in the bottom of the 8th inning. John Sawatzky was 

the starting pitcher for the Rockets, he threw 5 2/3 innings, gave up 9 hits, walked 4 and he had 

4 strikeouts. Calvin Kosminskas threw 1 2/3 innings of relief, he walked 2 and he had a 

strikeout. Zach Nelson earned the save with 1 2/3 innings of relief, he recorded 2 strikeouts. 

Mike Jeseritz went 3-4 with a sacrifice fly and 2 big RBI’s and Austin Smith had a big game, he 

went 1-2, he had a sacrifice fly for a RBI, for the winning run, a sacrifice bunt and he scored a 

run. Jason Meyer went 1-3 with a RBI, he was hit by a pitch and he scored a run. Brandon 

Madsen went 2-3 with a double, walked, had a stolen base and he scored a run. Justin Koenen 

had a sacrifice fly for a RBI, Calvin Kosminskas went 1-3 with a double, walked and he scored 

and Brett Swanson went 1-3 and he scored a run. Kyle Knott went 2-3 with a walk and he 

scored 2 runs. The Brewers starting pitcher, Mitch Ergen went 7 innings, he scattered 10 hits, 

he walked 2, surrendered 4 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Brice Adelmeyer was the pitcher of 

record for the Brewers, he gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, had a strikeout, gave up 3 runs, 1 of which 

was earned. Issac Matchinsky had a big game going 2-3 with a home run and a double for 2 

RBI’s and he walked twice and scored 3 runs. Player/Manager Cory Wenz had a great game, 

going 3-5 with a double and he scored a run. Austin Klaverkamp went 2-3 with a double, 

sacrifice fly and 2 RBI’s. Chase Aleshire went 1-4 with a walk and he scored and Colton Fruth 

went 1-3 with a walk and he scored. Derrick Orth had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Nick Baker 

had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Luke Harren earned a walk.

Raymond Rockets10 Kimball Express 1 (8/15) Seeding Game

The Rockets topped the Express behind the pitcher efforts of Brandon Wedel and Zach Nelson. 

Brandon threw 5 1/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 4 walks and he had 8 strikeouts. Zach earned 

the save, throwing 3 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 walk and he had 5 strikeouts. The 

Rockets pounded out 13 hits, blowing open a game that was 2-1, going into the top of the 7th. 

Kyle Knott had a good game going 1-2 with a double for a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. 

Mike Jeseritz went 2-5 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run. Calvin Kosminska went 2-5 

with a triple and a RBI, he scored a run. John Sawatzky went 3-4 with a RBI, he walked and he 

scored a run and Jordan Smith went 1-6 with 2 big RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. Justin Koenen 

went 1-4, he scored and he was hit by a pitch. Jason Meyer walked twice and Cole Christianson 

walked twice and he scored a run. Andy Dingmann was the pitcher of record for the Express, he 

threw 6 1/3 innings. He gave up 9 hits, walked 3 and he had a strikeout. Zach Kuefler threw 1 

2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, walked 1 and he had a strikeout. Adam Beyer threw 1/3 

of a inning and Brooks Marquardt threw 2/3 of inning, he recorded 2 strikeouts. Austin Ruehle 

went 2-3, and Ben Johnson went 1-4. Adam Beyer went 1-4 and he hit a home run in the bottom 

of the 4th inning and Scott Marquardt went 1-4 with a stolen base. Zach Kuefler walked twice

Watkins Clippers 3 Raymond Rockets 2  (10 Innings) (8/16) Championship

The Clippers topped the Rockets for the Region 11C championship behind the steady pitching 

of Matt Geislinger. Matt threw 10 innings, scattering 8 hits, walked 2 and he had 10 strikeouts.  

Kevin Kramer walked and he stole 2nd and Lincoln Haugen had the big RBI single to drive in 

the winning run. Matt Geislinger had a great day at the plate too, he went 2-2 with 2 doubles 

and a RBI and he walked twice. Gary Peters went 2-4 and he scored a run and Branden Ashton 

went 2-4. Lincoln Haugen went 1-4 with a sacrifice bunt and a RBI.  Kevin Kramer went 1-2 with 

a walk, stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Miah Kramer went 1-3 with a sacrifice bunt and Dan 

Berg had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Ryan Tri and Adam Hiltner both earned walks. Calvin 

Kosminkas was the starting pitcher for the Rockets, he threw 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, 2 

runs, 2 walks and he had 3 strikeouts. Jordan Smith threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up 1 hit 

and Cole Christianson was the pitcher of record, he gave up 2 hits, walked 3 and surrendered 

the winning run in 2 innings of relief. Jordan Smith went 2-5 with a double and Justin Koenen

Sartell Muskies 2 Mora Blue Devils 0  (Hinckley Brennen Field 8/15)

The Muskies topped the Blue Devils in a pitcher dual; young lefty Johnny Schumer prevailed. 

The young lefty threw all 9 innings, he scattered 4 hits, walked 3 and he had 6 strikeouts. The 

Blue Devils were ranked No. 6 in the late July state ratings, so this was a big win. Luke Sweeter 

went 1-4 with a double for a big RBI and Paul Schumer walked twice and reached base on a 

catcher interference call to force a run in, for a big RBI. Jake Sweeter went 2-3, he scored 2 

runs and he was hit by a pitch. Rob Voshell walked twice, Cody Partch and Tim Burns each 

walked 1 time. Adam Wenker had a sacrifice bunt and Tyler Zelinksi had a sacrifice bunt. 

Derrick Graves was the pitcher of record for the Blue Devils, he went 8 innings, scattered 3 hits, 

5 walks and he had 15 strikeouts. Sam Johnson, Dylan Graves, Aaron Oslin all had base hits 

for the Blue Devils. Greg Chmiel has a  sacrifice bunt, Derrick Graves and Kendall Bowe both 

earned walks.

Sartell Muskies 9  Mora Blue Devils 1  (Hinckley  8/16) Championship

The Muskies topped the Blue Devils for the Region 1C championship with a 11 hit attack and 

very good pitching performances by Adam Wenker and Max Koprek. Adam threw 7 innings, he 

scattered 4 hits, 0 walks and he had 7 strikeouts. Max threw two innings of relief, he faced just 6 

batters and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Tim Burns had a good day as went 2-4 with a first inning 

homerun, to get the Muskies on the board early. Two Muskies really came up big Cody Partch 

and Paul Schumer both a great days at the plate. Cody went 2-4 with 2 big home runs for 4 

RBI’s  in the 4th and in the 6th innings and Paul had a base clearing triple for 3 big RBI’s, he 

also had a sacrifice bunt, he walked and he scored a run in the 7th inning. Jake Sweeter went 2-

4 with a RBI, he walked and he scored a run and Luke Sweeter went 1-4, he walked and scored 

a run. Jace Otto went 2-4 with a walk and he scored a run and Adam Schellinger went 1-5. Rob 

Voshell had a sacrifice bunt and Brian Schellinger earned a walk. The pitcher of record for the 

Blue Devils was Jake Oslin, he threw 5 innings, gave up 9 hits, walked 1 and he had 2 

strikeouts. Aaron Oslin threw 2 innings of relief, he walked 3 and he had a strikeout. Logan 

Orazem threw the final inning, he walked 3 and he gave up a hit. Derek Graves went 1-4 with a 

RBI and Sean Graff went 1-3 with a stolen base and he was hit by a pitch. Darin Erickson went 

1-3 and Eric Raivo went 1-2.
