Cold Spring Springers 8  St. Cloud Beadreaus Saints 2  (St. Cloud 6/17)

This was a matchup that a number of local baseball fans were looking forward too, the last time they played was for a state championship last fall. This was a very good game till the 8th inning, a couple of errors by the Saints opened the gates for the Springers. Starting pitcher for the Springers was nearly perfect, after giving up a 3 run homer to Nick Maier in the 3rd inning. This made the score 3-1 at the time and it appeared this was the spark the Saints needed. The Springers scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning to tied the score at 3-3. The Springers scored 4 big runs in the top of 8th inning and an insurance run in the 9th inning. Zach Femirite threw all 9 innings for the Springers, he scattered 3 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Zach Femrite had his best game of the season, as he went 4-4 with 2 doubles, scored 2 runs, walked and he had a RBI. Garrett Fuchs went 2-5 with a big base hit in the 2nd inning to drive in the first run in the game. Tyler Geislinger went 1-5 with a triple to drive in 2 runs and Alex Jungels went 1-3 with a double and 2 sacrifices. Eric Loxtercamp went 1-4 with a double, stolen base, walk and he scored a run and Joe Dempsey went 1-5 and he scored a run. Drew VanLoy went 1-5 and he scored a run and Justin Thompson walked twice and he scored a run. The starting pitcher for the Saints, Nick Denny went 5 1/3 innings, he gave up 7 hits, walked 2 and recorded 3 strikeouts and he surrendered 3 runs. Brad Haag was the pitcher of record, he threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 1 walk and 4 runs. Chris Koenig threw an inning of relief, he gave up a hit and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Dave Carlson and Chad Hackemeyer got base hits for the Saints and Ryan Schneider walked twice.

Sauk Rapids Cyclones 4  St. Cloud Bedreaus Saints 2  (Sauk Rapids 6/21)

The Cyclones scored 4 runs in the bottom of the first to answer the Saints, which scored 2 in the top of the first inning. It became a pitching duel after the 1st inning. Kyle Hinkemeyer had a big hit to drive in  two runs in the bottom of the first. Andy Thayer threw 6 innings to earn the win over the Saints, he scattered 5 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 3 strikeouts. David Kroger took the mound in the 7th inning and he was nearly perfect thru 3 innings to earn the save, he gave up 1 hit, walked 1 and he recorded 1 strikeout. Derek Cagle went 1-3 with a big RBI single in the first inning and Tommy Wippler went 1-4, he walked and scored in the first. Scott Geiger went 1-2 with a RBI single, he walked twice and scored a run, Andy Henkemeyer scored a run, he was hit by the pitch three times and Paul Schlangen, walked and scored a run. Lefty Jeff Fasching was the pitcher of record for the Saints, he threw 5 innings, gave up 3 hits, 4 walks and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Nick Denny threw 3 innings of perfect relief, giving no hits, no walks and striking out 3. Ryan Schnieder went 1-4 with a big double in the first to drive in the 2 Saints runs. Tom Imholte went 1-4 scored a run and Brian Minks went 1-4 walked and scored their 2nd run. Nick Maiers went 1-4, Dave Carlson went 1-4 with a walk and Tommy Auger went 1-3 with a double.

St. Cloud Beadreaus Saints 7  Brainerd Bees 1  (Brainerd 6/20)

The Saints topped Lakewood league and regional rival the Bees, behind the pitching of Ryan Schneider. He threw all 9 innings, gave up just 4 hits, walked 3 and he had 11 strikeouts. Ryan also had a good day at the plate, as he went 2-5 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Nick Hengel had an awesome day, going 4-4, he scored and he had a RBI. Dave Carlson went 2-5 and he scored, Tom Imholte went 2-5, he scored, he a stolen base and a RBI. Chad Hockemeyer went 1-4 with a run scored and Will Spaniol went 1-4 and he had a RBI. Blake Peterson was the pitcher of record for the Bees, he threw 7 innings, gave up 10 hits, and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Burrell Flannagan threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked one and recorded 2 strikeouts. Blake Peterson went 1-4 with a RBI, Brady Prince went 1-4 with a double and a he walked. Paul Augustinach went 1-4, Blake Eller went 1-3 with a walk and Tom Fairbanks, walked, scored a run and he had a stolen base.

Luxemburg Brewers 11 Cold Spring Rockies 1 (7 Innings) (Cold Spring 6/17)

The Brewers topped the CVL rival Rockies in a game stopped by the ten run rule after 7 innings. Austin Klaverkamp pitched a complete game for the Brewers, he scattered 6 hits, gave up just one run and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Derrick Orth had a big evening, he went 3-4 with 2 RBI’s and Luke Harren went 2-4, he scored 3 runs and he had a RBI. Cory Wenz had a good game, he went 1-2, with 2 walks, he scored 2 runs and had had a RBI. Ethyn Fruth went 1-3, walked, scored 2 runs and he had a RBI, Austin Klaverkamp went 1-3, he walked twice and he scored a run and Chase Aleshire walked twice, scored a run and he had a RBI. Tyler McElwee was the pitcher of record for the Rockies. Josh Porwell went 1-2 with a double and he scored a run and Calvin Kalthoff went 1-3 with a double. Reese Hemmesch went 1-3, Mason Ruegemer went 1-3 and Jake Hennen had a sacrifice and an RBI.

Luxemburg Brewers 7  St. Augusta Gussies 5  (Luxemburg 6/21)

The Brewers topped CVL rival Gussies behind the pitcher efforts of Isaac Matchinsky and Austin Klaverkamp. Isaac threw 6 innings, he scattered 7 hits, walked 1, surrendered 5 runs and he had 5 strikeouts to earn the win. Austin earned a save with a nearly perfect relief appearance, he gave up a hit and he had 5 strikeouts. Cory Wenz had an awesome game, as he went 4-5 with a double, scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Derek Orth went yard again, he was 2-5 with a home run and 2 RBI’s and Chase Aleshire went 2-4, scored a run and he had a RBI. Colten Fruth went 2-5 and he scored a run and Luke Harren walked 3 times, scored 2 runs and had one stolen base. Travis Laudenbach was the pitcher of record for the Gussies, he threw 4 innings, gave up 7 hits, walked 3.  Zach Laudenbach threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked 2 and he had 3 strikeouts. Adam Gwost went 2-4 with 2 doubles for a RBI, Brady Graft went 1-4 with a home run for 2 RBI’s and Aaron Fruth went 3-4 and he scored a run.

Watkins Clippers 9  Cold Spring Rockies 5  (Watkins 6/21)

The Clippers was led by Matt Geislinger’s pitching effort, he threw 7 innings, scattered 8 hits, walked 2, he gave 2 runs and he had 6 strikeouts. Adam Hiltner threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked, gave up 3 runs and he had 1 strikeout. Matt Geislinger and Lincoln Haugen had great games at the plate, Matt went 3-5, scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s and Lincoln went 4-5, with a double and he scored 2 runs. Gary Peters went 3-4, scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base and Brandon Ashton went 1-4, scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Travis Linn went 1-4 with a sacrifice, Adam Hiltner went 1-2, walked, scored a run, had a sacrifice and he had a stolen base and Micah Kraemer went 1-4, scored a run and a stolen base. John Rossman was the pitcher of record for the Rockies, John threw all 8 innings, as he battled the Clippers all the way thru.  David Jonas and Mike Holbrook had good games at the plate, David went 2-4, walked, scored and he had 2 RBI’s and Mike went 2-3, he had a double and he scored. Kevin Wenner went 1-4 and he scored and Trevor Lardy went 1-3. Ryan Bell went 1-4, walked and he scored, Chris Lardy went 1-3 and Ryan Hennen went 1-1 and he had a RBI.

Watkins Clippers 8  Cold Spring Rockies 5  (Cold Spring 6/21)

The Clippers topped the Rockies for the second time on Sunday behind the pitching of Taylor Nowacki, he threw a complete game, scattering 11 hits, he walked 2, gave up 5 runs and he had 14 strikeouts. Adam Hiltner had an awesome game, as he went 3-4 with 2 triples, 2 runs scored and a RBI. Taylor Nowacki went 1-5 with 2 RBI’s and Gary Peters went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s. Brandon Ashton went 3-5, he had a double and he scored, Lincoln Haugen went 1-5, scored and he had a RBI. Danny Berg went 1-3, walked twice and he had 2 stolen bases and Ryan Tri went 1-4 and he scored a run. Josh Porwoll was the starting pitcher for the Rockies, he threw 2 innings and Tyler McElwee threw 7 innings of relief, he scattered 6 hits, walked 3 and he gave up 5 runs, he recorded 4 strikeouts. Josh Porwoll had another good game with the bat, as he went 3-5 with a double and a RBI and David Jonas went 2-5 with a double and a RBI. Ryan Bell went 1-4, scored and he had a RBI and Jeff Lindbloom went 1-5 with a RBI. Chris Lardy went 1-4 with a double, Reese Hemmesch went 1-3 with a RBI, Mike Holbrook went 1-4 and he scored and Calvin Kolthoff went 1-5.

Kimball Express 14  Eden Valley Hawks 4  (7 Innings) (Kimball 6/21)

The Express topped CVL rival the Hawks behind a trio of pitchers, Zach Dingmann was the Express starter, he earned the win with 5 innings of work, he scattered 5 hits, walked 1, gave up 4 runs and he had 5 strikeouts. Adam Beyer threw 1 inning of relief and Ben Johnson threw the final inning, Adam and Ben each recorded a strikeout. Ben Johnson , Brooks Marquardt and Brian Marquardt all had great days with the bat. Ben went 3-3, Brooks Marquardt went 2-4 with a home run and Brian Marquardt went 2-3. Tanner Olean was the pitcher of record for the Hawks, he threw 4 innings. Dan Hanson went 2-4 with a home run and Chad Hesse went 2-4 with a double.

Cold Spring Rockies 8  St. Nickolas Nicks 4  (Cold Spring 6/19)

The Rockies topped CVL rival the Nicks, behind the pitching efforts of Chris Lardy and Josh Porwell. Chris threw 7 2/3 innings to earn the win and Josh Porwell earned the save with 1 1/3 innings of relief. Josh also had a great night at the plate, as he went 4-4 and he scored 2 runs. Paul Schreiner had a very good game, as he went 3-4, scored a run and he had a RBI. Marshall Wertzfield  went 1-4 and he scored a run, Mike Ficker went 1-2 with a sacrifice and Ryan Bell went 1-2, he scored a run and he had a sacrifice for a RBI. Reese Hemmesch went 1-3, he scored a run, had a sacrifice and a RBI and Trevor Lardy had a sacrifice for a  RBI. Travis Hanson was the pitcher of record for the Nicks, he threw 6 innings, Kevin Drontle threw 2 innings of relief and Jon Hofer threw 1 inning. Joe Wehlage had a great game, as he went 3-5 and Hunter Ahrens went 2-4. Brett Hofer went 1-3, scored a run and he walked, Tanner Anderson went 1-1, scored and he had a RBI and Matt Schott went 1-3.

Watkins Clippers 8  St. Augusta Gussies 5  (Watkins 6/19)

The combined pitcher efforts of Taylor Nowocki and Dan Berg topped the Gussies in CVL action. Taylor threw 6 innings, scattered 7 hits, walked 3, surrendered 2 runs and he recorded 10 strikeouts. Dan went 3 innings, gave up 4 hits, 3 runs and he had 1 strikeout. Brandon Ashton had another awesome day with the bat, he went 3-5 a double and a 3 run homer. Dallas Evenson went 2-3, he walked and had a RBI, Taylor Nowcacki went 2-5 and Travis Linn went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Matt Geislinger went 2-4 with a double, stolen base, 2 runs scored. Gary Peters went 1-4 with a run scored and Dan Berg went 1-5. Mike Laudenbach was the pitcher of record for the Gussies. Marcus Lommel had another great game at the plate, he went 3-4 with a double, he walked, scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base. Adam Gwost went 2-5 with a double and he scored, Aaron Fruth had a big game, he went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a RBI and Nate Laudenbach went 1-4 with a double and a stolen base. Dusty Schultzenburg went 1-4, walked and he had a stolen base, Nate Gwost went 1-4 and Brady Graft, walked and he had a sacrifice and 2 RBI’s.

Eden Valley Hawks 12   Pearl Lake Lakers 2  (8 Innings)   (Eden Valley 6/19)

The Hawks pounded out 17 hits, 16 of which were singles, Jake Anderson led the way with his 5-5 performance, he had a double and he scored 2 runs. Matt Pennertz had 2 hits and Josh Schumacher had 2 hits. Dan Hanson pitched all 8 innings for the Hawks, he scattered 8 hits, walked 2, surrendered 2 runs and he had 1 strikeout. Jake Anderson went 5-5 with a double and he scored 2 runs and Matt Pennertz went 3-5. Josh Schumacher went 2-4 and Tanner Olean went 2-5. Austin Schlangen went 2-5 and Zach Schlangen was 1-1, walked and he was hit by a pitch 3 times.  Derek Schlangen was the pitcher of record for the Lakers, he threw 3 2/3 innings and Steve Krippner threw 4 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 5 hits, 3 runs, walked 2 and he had 2 strikeouts. Tommy Linn was 2-4, Mitch Wiencke was 2-4 and Logan Schramel went 3-4 with a triple.

Pearl Lake Lakers 4 St. Nickolas Nicks 1  (St. Nickolas 6/21)

The Lakers topped CVL rival the Nicks behind the pitching efforts of Logan Schramel. Logan threw a complete game, he scattered 4 hits, walked 4 and he record 3 strikeouts. Sam Schlangen went 2-4 with a double for 2 big RBI’s and Tommy Linn went 1-3 with 2 walks, a sacrifice and a RBI. Justin Kunkel went 1-4 with a big double to drive in a run and Mitch Wieneke went 1-3 and he scored. Ike Blitvich went 1-2, Andy Linn went 1-1 and Preston Peglow went 1-1 with double and he had a sacrifice. The pitcher of record for the Nicks was Juff Lutgen, he threw 7 innings, scattered 7 hits, walked 1 and he surrendered 3 runs. Dennis Kuechle threw 2 innings of nearly perfect relief. Tanner Anderson went 2-5 with a double and he scored a run, Jeff Lutgen went 1-4 and Joe Wehlage went 1-4. This was really a tight game, as the Nick scored their run in the bottom of the 4th and held the lead till the Lakers scored three runs in the top of the 6th inning and they added a run in the topped of the 7th.

Cold Spring Rockies 8 St. Nickolas Nicks 4  (Cold Spring 6/19)

The Rockies topped their neighbors and CVL rival the Nicks behind the pitching efforts of Chris Lardy and Josh Porwoll. Chris went 7 2/3 innings, he scattered 10 hits, walked 2, surrendered 4 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Josh Porwoll earned a save with 1 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and he had 2 strikeouts. Paul Schreiner had a great game, as he went 3-4, he scored a run and he had a RBI and Josh Porwoll went 4-4 and he scored 2 runs. The Muskies topped Sauk Valley league rival the Joes behind the pitching and hitting of Adam Wenker. He threw 8 innings, gave up just 3 hits, walked 1, hit 5 batters and Adam went 2-3 with a walk and 3 big RBI’s. Paul Schumer had an awesome game, going 4-4 with a sacrifice, he scored a run and he had 3 RBI’s. Jace Otto had a great game, going 3-4 with a double, sacrifice, 2 runs and 2 RBI’s. Jake Sweeter went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs, Rob Voshell went 1-3, scored 2 runs, he had a double, walked, a stolen base and sacrifice. Tim Burns went 1-4, scored a run, he had a double and a RBI, Brian Schellinger went 1-5 with a stolen base and a RBI and John Schumer went 1-4 and he scored a run. Josh Woods was the pitcher of record for the Joes and R. J. Sartell Muskies 6 Clear Lake Lakers 1   (Sartell 6/21)

The Muskies upped the Sauk Valley league record to 7-0 and to 14-1 overall with their win over Sauk Valley league rival Clear Lake. Lefty Johnny Schumer threw a great game, he went 8 innings, scattered 4 hits, gave up 1 run and had 11 strikeouts. Paul Schumer threw the final inning with a nearly perfect inning, including a strikeout. Rob Vosehll and Jace Otto both had great games, Rob went 3-5, with a double, scored a run and he had a stolen base. Jace went 3-5 as he scored 3 runs and he had a stolen base. Tim Burns and Paul Schumer both went 2-4 and Cody Partch went 1-3, he walked and he had a RBI. Jake Sweeter went 1-4, walked, scored, he had a RBI, Luke Sweeter went 1-5 with 2 big RBI’s and Adam Wenker went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s. Ken Schoenberg was the pitcher of record for the Lakers, he threw 7 innings, scattered 12 hits, walked 2 and he had 4 strikeouts. Mike Golembieshki went 2-3 and Brett Stinogel went 1-4 with a RBI. The Joes topped Blues with a walk off walk to Brandon Bloch; Brandon went 3-4 with a double, walked 2 times, scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Mitchel Ashwill was the Joe’s starting pitcher, he threw 5 1/3 innings, scattered 9 hits, walked 2 and he had a strikeout. Alex Kendell earned the pitching win with 3 2/3 innings of work, he walked 3 and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Caz Novak had a great game as he went 4-5, he scored and he had a RBI and Ben Alvord went 1-4 with a double and a RBI. Joe Stock went 1-3, with a double, scored and he had a sacrifice and Ethan Carlson went 1-5 with a double. Eric Vigil went 1-4 and he scored and R. J. Alpers, walked, had a sacrifice and a RBI. Kaleb Kalbrenner was the Blues starting pitcher, he threw 8 innings, he scattered 7 hits, walked 2, surrendered 6 runs and he had 7 strikeouts. The Joes topped Sauk Valley foe the Lumberjacks behind the pitching efforts of R. J. Alpers and Alex Kendall. R. J. was the pitcher of record, he threw 5 innings, scattered 4 hits, walked 3 and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Alex threw 3 innings, he walked one, gave up one hit and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Ethan Carlson had a great game, he went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a stolen base and a RBI. Joey Stock went 2-2, he scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Caz Novak went 1-4 with a stolen base and a RBI, Tyler Mueller went 1-3 with a sacrifice and a run scored and Ben Alvord went 1-2 with a run scored. The Blacksoxs topped Victory league south foe the Saints behind the strong pitching efforts by Carter Sawyer. He threw a complete game, scattering 3 hits, walking 5, surrendered 3 runs and he recorded 4 strikeouts. The Sox sent 14 batters to the plate in the 4th inning. Seth Noll had his best game as a Sox, he went 3-4 with 2 doubles, he scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Carter Sawyer had a good night both on the mound and at the plate, as he went 3-4, he score 2 runs, walked twice, and he had 3 RBI’s. Eric Evaslage went 2-2, he scored 2 times and he had a sacrifice for a RBI and Troy Frieler went 2-5, he scored a run and he had a RBI. Kyle Klasen went 2-3 with a double walked, score a run and ha a RBI. The Steves topped Victory league foe the River Dogs behind the pitching effort of Austin Guggenberger. He had a complete game, scattering 10 hits, walking 2 and he had 9 strikeouts. Austin also had a good game at the plate, 2-2, scored 3 times and he had 1 RBI. Ben Omann had a great game, going 2-4 with 3 walks, 2 runs and he had 3 RBI’s. Brandon Waldvogel went 2-5, with a run and a RBI and Jason Slivnik went 2-5 with a double, scored a run and a RBI. Nick Kripper went 1-2, walked twice and he scored a run and Cody Wolhart went 1-3 with a sacrifice and a RBI.

Buckman Billygoats 7  Avon Lakers 5  (Buckman 6/20)

The Lakers dropped a game to Victory league rival the Billygoats. Adam Harlander was the pitcher of record in relief. Troy Wunderlich was the Lakers starter and he threw 6 innings. Riley Voit went 3-3, with a sacrifice fly and 3 RBI’s and Adam Harlander went 2-4. Tony Schoenberg went 2-4 and Rick Hendrickson went 1-2 with a sacrifice, run scored and a stolen base.

The Steves topped their Victory South rival the Express behind the pitching of Blake Guggenberger, he threw 9 innings, scattered 4 hits, walked 5, gave up 2 runs and he had 7 strikeouts. Ben Omann had another good game, as he went 2-4 with a double, scored 2 runs and he had 2 RBI’s. Bo Schmitz had another good game, Mr. Consistent went 2-5, he walked, score 2 runs and he had a RBI and Blake Guggenberger went 2-4 with a double, scored a run and he had a RBI. Austin Guggenberger went 1-5 with a double, scored 2 times and a RBI and Dylan Hollenkamp went 1-4 with 2 RBI’s. T. J. Bevens went 1-1, scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Sam Neeser went 1-2 with a double, walked twice, scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Austin Guggenberger went 2-2, with a walk, 2 sacrifices, he scored a run and he had a RBI. Dylan Hollenkamp went 1-4, scored a run and he had a RBI and Cody Wolhart went 1-2, scored a run and he had a RBI. The Lakers dropped their second game of the weekend, Kyle Collins was the pitcher of record, he gave up 9 hits, surrendered 7 runs and he had 5 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Cody Stich threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked 1 and surrender 4 runs. Caleb Curry threw 1 inning of relief to closed out the game. The Blacksox’s dropped a Victory League game to the Lakers of Lastrup, for a split of their weekend league games. Mitch Reller was the pitcher of record, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, walked 4 and he gave up 3 runs. Peter Burg threw an inning of relief, he gave up a hit, walked 1 and 3 runs. Nate Winter threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, 2 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. The Royals had a huge win over Stearns County South Rival the Martins and their second win over them. All the scoring was done in the third inning, the Royals loaded the bases and Scott Ruegemer ripped a single to drive in two huge runs. They never did surrender the lead, as Luke Jokela battled them for 7 innings, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 5 and he had 9 strikeouts. Andy Bauer threw 2 innings of relief to earn the save, has was nearly perfect. Scott Ruegemer was 1-3 with a sacrifice and those 2 big RBI’s. Dusty Adams went 1-3 with a sacrifice and Adam Backes went 1-4 and he scored a run. Cole Schmitz went 1-2 and he walked and Cory Niewind went 1-4 and he scored. Brent Ruegemer went 1-4, Kyle Budde went 1-4 and Jordan Neu went 1-4 and he scored. I believe the Royals are off this week, but they do have their All Star game this coming Friday night and they have four Royals that will be participating.

Rob started and he went 4 2/3 innings, he gave up 8 hits, walked 2 and he gave up 2 runs, he had 5 strikeouts. Brandon threw 1 2/3 innings of relief and Travis Moreno earned the save getting the last 2 outs of the game. Now and then you have a off day, as the Poneys split their double hitter with the Knights. Cold Spring Springers 8 Blaine Fusion 4 (7 Innings) (Victoria 6/19)

The Springers topped the Fusion last Friday evening; they were ranked 1st in Class B state in last week’s poll. Justin Thompson, pitched 6 innings to earn the win; he scattered 6 hits, walked 1, gave up 4 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. The Springers had a number of very good performances; lead by Zach Femrite and Garrett Fuchs. Zach went 2-4, he walked and had 2 RBI’s and Garret Fuchs went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s. Drew VanLoy had a good game going 2-4 with a home run and Joe Dempsey went 1-3, scored 2 runs and he walked. Alex Jungels went 1-3 with a RBI and Ryan Holhaus went 1-3 and he scored a run.

Cold Spring Springers 5  Midway Snurdbirds 4  (Victoria 6/20)

The Springers topped Class C Midway Snurdbirds; one of the top teams Class C teams in northern Minnesota. They came from behind to win a very tight ball game. Jack Arnold battled the Birds, scattering 12 hits, and he had 3 strikeouts. Eric Loxtercamp had his best game as a Springer, he went with 2 doubles, he scored 2 runs and he had 2 big RBI’s. Garrett Fuchs continues to hit the ball, he was 3-4 with 2 big RBI’s. Chris Butala had a great game, he went 2-3, he scored a run and he had a RBI. Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-3 and he scored and Drew Bulson got his first hit as a Springer. Drew is only going to be a sophomore in high school.

Cold Spring Springers 8  Moorhead Brewers 3  (Victoria 6/21)

In the championship game the Springers continued to bang the ball around the park. They collected 16 hits against the Brewers, lead once again by Eric Loxtercamp and Garrett Fuchs. Eric went 3-6 with a triple and a double and a RBI and Garrett Fuchs went 3-5 with a triple, he scored and he had 4 big RBI’s. Joe Dempsey finally got to show that he has been hitting ball hard, without luck; by picking up 2 hits for 2 RBI’s. Alex Jungels had another great game with a 2-3 showing, he had a double and he walked twice. Tyler Geislinger went 1-5 and he scored and Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-3, he scored and he had a RBI. Jeron Terres went 1-3 and he walked, Jack Arnold went 1-1 and Ryan Holthaus went 1-2, he walked 3 times and he scored. The Springers pitcher threw a complete game, for the second week in row; Drew VanLoy battled thru the game, he scattered 11 hits, walked 2 and he had 10 strikeouts.

The Muskies topped CVL foe the Gussies behind the pitcher performance by Travis Weaver. He threw 7 innings, scattered 6 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 2 strikeouts to earn the win. Adam Wenker earned credit for a stop, he threw 1 inning, gave up 1 hit and he had 3 strikeouts. Cody Partch earned the save with 1 inning of relief and he record 1 strikeout. Luke Sweeter went 2-3 with a double, walk and a RBI and Jace Otto went 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. Tim Burns went 1-3 with a stolen base and a walk and Cody Partch went 1-4 and he scored a run. Nate Laudenbach was the pitcher of record for the Gussies. Marcus Lommel had a great night at the plate as he went 3-4 with 2 doubles. Adam Gwost went 1-4, Nate Laudenbach went 1-4 and Aaron Fruth went 1-3 with a walk.

The Avon Lakers topped CVL foe the Pearl Lake Lakers in Marty 4-3, behind a trio of pitchers. Putter Harlander was the starter, he went 4 2/3 innings, he gave up 6 hits, walked 5, recorded 3 strikeouts and he surrendered 2 runs. Riley Voit earned the win with 1 1/3 innings of relief and Kenny Weber earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, walked 1 and surrendered 1 run. Riley Voit went 2-4 including a home run and Rick Hendrickson went 1-3, he walked, scored a run and he had 2 stolen bases. Caleb Curry went 1-4, Kenny Weber went 1-3 with a stolen base and Conner Huberty went 1-3 and he scored a run. Cody Stich went 1-1, he walked twice and he had a stolen base and Carter Holthaus went 1-2, with a sacrifice, stolen base, he scored a run and he had a RBI. The Blues topped Eastern Minny West foe the Stone Poneys on a walk off hit by Josh Johnson. Dylan Koll earned the pitching win for the Blues with 5 innings of relief, he scattered 5 hits, walked 1, gave up 1 run and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Eric Hulterstram had a big night, as he went 3-5 with 2 RBI’s and Jake Johnson went 2-4 with a double. Josh Johnson with the walk off single, went 2-5, Carson Deal went 1-3 with a RBI and Lacus Johnson went 1-3. Travis Moreno was the pitcher of record for the Stone Poneys, he threw 3 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, walked 4, surrendered 2 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Tyler Waytashek was their starting pitcher, he went 4 1/3 innings, gave up just 2 hits, walked 6 and surrendered 7 runs. Sean Tillman had a big night, as he went 2-5 with a double and a grand slam in the 5th inning for the Poneys. Sauk Rapids Cyclones 5  Fort Ripley Rebels 4   (Sauk Rapids 6/17)

The Cyclones topped Victory League foe the Rebels with a walk of single by Joel Haller, he drove in the tie and the winning runs. Bryce Gapinsky was the starter for the Cyclones, he threw 6 innings, scattered 8 hits, walked 2 and surrendered 4 runs, he recorded 2 strikeouts. Charlie Oltz earned the win with 3 innings of very good relief, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Andy Henkemeyer went 2-5, with a double and he scored the winning run. Paul Schlangen went 1-4 with a triple and he scored a run, Bryce Gapinski went 1-4 with a double and a RBI, Adam Wippler went 1-3 with a walked and he scored a run and Nate Friehammer went 1-3.

Roscoe Rangers 6  Luxemberg Brewers 5  (Luxemburg 6/19)

The Brewers dropped a game to Stearns County South foe the Rangers. John Fish was the pitcher of record for the Brewers, he threw 6 innings, gave up 10 hits and 5 runs. Casey Underwood threw 2 innings of nearly perfect relief, but he did gave up 1 run. Nick Baker went 2-4 with a double and he scored, Cory Wenz went 1-4 with a double and he scored. Casey Underwood went 2-4, Mitch Ergen went 1-3 with a walk and Austin Cicatti went 1-3 with a walk.
