Exhibition Games 

Kimball Express 10 Cokato Kings 6

The Express had a committee of pitchers, as David Joseph started and he went 3 innings, Jake Eiler went 2 innings, Andy Dingmann threw 3 innings and Ben Johnson closed it out with a 1 inning performance. Jordan Joseph continues to swing a hot bad as he went 3-5, he scored 3 runs and he had 1 stolen base. Ben Johnson had a big game as he went 3-4 with 3 big RBI’s and 1 stolen base. Scott Marquardt went 2-4 with a double and a RBI and Zach Dingmann went 2-4 with a double, 1 walk and 2 RBI’s. Austin Ruehle went 1-4, he scored 2 runs and he walked once and Adam Beyer went 1-5 with a double and he scored 2 runs. Matt Dingmann went 1-1 with two 2 RBI’s and Kyle Winter went 1-4 with 1 RBI.

Litchfield Blues 11 Pearl Lake Lakers 9

The Blues topped Central Valley foe, the Lakers with Tyler Kielty starting the pitching duties, Mike Hick being the pitcher of record and Dylan Koll got credit with a save. Tyler Kielty went 3-4 with 1 double and 2 big RBI’s and Eric Hulterstrum went 2-2 with 1 double and 3 RBI’s. Matt Sprieter went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s, Lucas Johnson went 1-3 and Dan Hicks went 1-3. For the Lakers Tommy Linn went 2-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI’s and Cole Denn went 2-4 with 1 double and 1 RBI. Ryan Ruegemer went 1-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI’s and Tim Voigt went 1-4 with a RBI. John Schlangen went 1-4 and Isaak Blitvich went 1-5. Steve Krippner was the pitcher of record for the Lakers.

Watkins Clippers 2 Maple Lake Irish 0 (11 Innings)

The Clippers defeated one of the top Class C teams in the state in exhibition action last Friday evening. Tyler Noracki threw 10 innings, scattered 5 hits, walked just 1 and he recored 10 strikeouts. Dan Berg earned the save with 1 inning of relief, he recorded 1 strikeout and he walked one. Taylor Noracki and Travis Linn drove in the runs in the top of the 11th inning for the Clippers big win. The Clippers collected  6 hits in the game, sorry I had no further details shared with this writer.

VICTORY LEAGUE SOUTH

Holdingford Express 10 Royalton Riverdogs 0

For the Express they went to 3-1 in the league behind the pitching performance of Derek Thielen. He threw 8 innings, scattered 4 hits, walked 1 and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Derek had a big day with the bat too, he went 2-5 with 1 double, he scored 1 run and  he had 3 big RBI’s. Derek  Biniek went 2-4 with a double and he scored a run, Jeremy Springer went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Ian Hoffarth went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Taylor Milbrandt went 1-4 and he scored a run. 

Lastrup Lakers 5 St. Stephen 3

The Steves dropped a Victory League to East foe Lastrup, Nick Krippner was the pitcher of record as he threw 4 innings, he scattered 6 hits, walked 4 and he recorded 2 strikeouts. Paul Schumer threw 4 effective innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, walked 3 and he recorded 2 strikeouts.  Paul Schumer went 2-4 with a double and 1 RBI and Alex Omann went 1-4 with a double and a RBI. Bo Schmitz went 1-4 with a triple and he scored a run and Jason Slivnik went 2-4 and he scored a run. Dylan Hollenkamp went 1-4, he scored a run and Cody Wohlhart went 1-4. Ben Omann went 1-5 and Austin Guggenberger walked once and he had a sacrifice.

The Joes won their first Sauk Valley game of the season, behind the pitcher efforts of Mike Ashwill. He threw 7 innings, scattered 6 hits, issued 3 walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts.   R. J. Alpers earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Ethan Carlson had a big day at the plate, as he went 4-4 , he walked, had 1 stolen base and he scored 2 runs. Brandon Block went 2-5, scored a run and 2 big RBI’s and Greg Anderson went 2-5 with a double, he scored 2 runs and he also had a big RBI. Ben Alvord went 2-3, with a triple, he walked and had a sacrifice and Zach Dehler went 1-1 with two big RBI’s. Aaron Rocheleau, walked, had a sacrifice and 1 RBI and Willie Willats went 1-3, he walked and had a sacrifice. Brock Cheeley went 1-4, Zach Overboe went 1-5 and R. J. Alpers walked, stole a base and he scored a run. The Lakers pitcher of record was Sam Shoeborg. They were led by Jeremy Welle as he went 2- 4 with a double and he walked once, Brett Watercott went 1-4, walked, he scored a run and had a RBI. Rich Petty went 1-4 with 2 big RBI’s and Jake Samulson went 1-4 with a double. Andrew Setrum went 1-4, Mike Golombiecki went 1-4 and Sam Shoeberg went 1-2, he scored 2 runs and had a sacrifice.
