CENTRAL VALLEY LEAGUE

Kimball Express 10 Watkins Clippers 6 (11 Innings)

The Express topped their rival the Clippers in extra innings, behind the pitching efforts of Matt Dingmann. He threw 7 innings, he scattered 11 hits, gave up 5 runs, issued two walks and he recorded 3 strikeouts. The winning pitcher was Andy Dingmann, as he threw the final two innings, he was nearly prefect in his relief effort. Ben Johnson started the Express off with a big 3 run home run, he went 2-6 with 5 big RBI’s. Jordan Joseph continues his hot streak, as he went 3-5 with 1 double, drove in 1 run, he walked once and scored 2 runs. Scott Marquardt went 2-5, walked and scored two runs and Adam Beyer went 2-5, he had 1 RBI and a sacrifice. Matt Dingmann had a good day at the plate, as he went 3-5 and he scored a run. Brooks Marquardt went 1-6 with a RBI and a run scored, David Joseph went 1-4 and he scored a run and Austin Ruehle scored 2 runs. The Express had 14 hits and they left 7 on bases. The Clippers matched them with 14 hits and they left 14 on the bases, Dan Berg led their offense with a 4-6 day with 2 RBI’s , 2 doubles and he scored 1 run. Ryan Tri went 3-5 with a double, 1 RBI and he scored a run, Brenden Ashton went 2-6 with a home run and he scored two runs. Matt Geislinger went 2-5 with a RBI and Adam Hiltner went 1-5, he had a double, scored a run and a stolen base. Taylor Nonrocki went 1-6 with a double and Gary Peters went 1-5 with a RBI. The pitcher of record for the Clippers was Taylor Nanrocki, he threw 3 innings,  gave up 5 hits, issued 2 walks, and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Matt Geislinger  was the starting pitcher, he went 8 innings, he recorded 10 strikeouts, issued 1 walk, and  gave up 9 hits.

St. Augusta Gussies 13 Pearl Lake Lakers 3

The winning pitcher for the Gussies was Zach Laudenbach as he threw 8 innings, he issued 2 walks, scattered 6 hits and he recorded one strikeout.  Marcus Lommel was a big leader for the Gussies offense as he went 2-4, with a double, 2 RBI’s, he walked once and he scored 3 runs. Dusty Schultenburg went 2-3 with 2 stolen bases, and he scored 2 runs, Adam Gwost went 3-4 with a double and he scored a run. Nate Gwost went 3-4, he scored a run and he walked, Matt Skaja went 2-4 and he scored two runs.  Brady Graft went 1-4, Nate Laudenbach went 1- 4 and Dave Fritz went 1-1 and he scored a run. Sam Schlangen went 2-3 to lead the Lakers offense with 2 RBI’s and a run scored. Tommy Linn went 2-3 and he walked once, Mitch Wienke went 1-4 with 1 RBI. 

Cold Spring Rockies 8 St. Nicholas  Nicks 6

The Rockies came from behind to defeat the Nicks behind the pitching of Blaine Athmann, he threw 5 innings, he recorded 3 strikeouts. Rick Burtzel threw 2 innings of relief and Chris Lardy earned the save with a perfect 9th inning. Marshal Wirtzfeld went 3-4 and he scored 2 runs and Chris Lardy went 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Reese Hemmesch went 2-3 with a RBI, Mike Holbrook went 1-4 with a RBI and a stolen base and Ryan Bell went 1-3 and he scored two runs. Travis Hanson was the starting pitcher for the NIcks, he went 6 innings and Derrick Kuechle threw 2 innings of relief. Joe Wehlage went 2-3 with double and a RBI and Travis Hanson went 2-5. Jon Hoffer went 2-5 with a RBI and Jeff Lutgen went 3-5 with a RBI.

Eden Valley Hawks 7 Luxemburg Brewers 4

The Hawks won their second league game of this young season, behind the pitching of Dan Hanson as he went 6 innings, he scattered 8 hits, gave up 4 runs and he recorded 1 strikeout. Nathan Geislinger threw 3 innings and he gave up one hit and he recorded  1 strikeout to earn the pitching win. Nathan Geislinger went 2-4, Jeff Haag went 2-3 and Josh Schumacher went 2-4 to lead the Hawks offense. Austin Klaverkamp went 5 innings  for the Brewers as he recorded 5 strikeouts, scattered 3 hits, walked 1 and he gave up one run. Mitch Ergen was the pitcher of record, as he issued 3 walks and gave up 2 hits. Luke Harren went 3-5 with a double and a RBI and Chase Aleshire went 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Austin Klaverkamp went 2-5 with a stolen base and Derrek Orth went 1-5 with a double. Corey Wenz  went 1-5 with a double and Austin Cicatti went 1-5 with a stolen base Derek Alberts went 1-5 and Ethyn Fruth went 1-4.

The Blues were led by the pitching of Dylan Koll as he threw 5 innings, he scattered 3 hits, walked 5 and he record 5 strikeouts. Tyler Kielty threw 4 innings and he gave up 2 hits. Leading the offense for the Blues, was Eddie Estrada as he went 2-4 with a triple, a stolen base and he scored a run. Carson Deal went 2-4 with a big RBI and Curtis Johnson went 1-5 with 2 RBI’s. Matt Spreiter went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run and Toby Chellin went 1-4 with a RBI, a stolen base and he scored a run. Greg Anderson was the pitcher of record for the Joe’s, he threw all 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, walked 1 and he record 7 strikeouts. Ethan Carlson led the Joe’s offense as he went 3-5 with a stolen base and he scored their run. Greg Anderson went 1-4, Brandon Block went 1-4 and Ben Alvord went 1-4 with a double. Ben Bierschied went 1-2, Dallas Haugan walked 2 times and Aaron Rocheleau had two walks.

Avon Lakers 11 St. Stephen Steves 6

The Lakers topped their league rival 11-6 with Ryan Morse getting credit for the win. Ryan is a former Cold Spring Springer pitcher, he went 4 innings giving up just 1 hit, 1 walk and striking out 2.  Cody Stich threw 3 innings of relief to help close out the game. Taylor Holthaus had a great game; going 2-5 with 2 home runs for 3 RBI’s.   Matt Meyer went 2-3 with a double, 1 RBI, 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Carter Holthaus went 2-5 with a double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored and a stolen base. Cody Stich went 2-4 with a walk and 2 RBI’s and Rick Hendrickson went 2-6 with 2 RBI’s, 1 run scored and a stolen base. Ryan Morse went 2-4 with a RBI and Riley Voit went 1-4 with a double. For St. Stephen Andrew Stolt was the pitcher of record; he threw 3 2/3 innings, he gave up 10 hits, recorded 1 strikeout and he walked no one. Nick Krippner went 5 1/3; he gave up 6 hits, recorded 5 strikeouts and 4 walks. Sam Neeser led the Steves offense, as he went 2-2 with a 3 run homer. Dylan Hollenkamp went 1-4 with a triple, Austin Guggenberger went 1-3 with a RBI, walk and he scored a run and Cody Wolhart went 1-4 with a RBI and he scored a run.

Holdingford Express 6  Pierz Bulldogs 4

The Express topped Victory League East foe Pierz; behind the pitching of Ryan Szymanski, he threw 7 innings. He gave up 4 runs,  scattered 4 hits, issued 4 walks and recorded 1 strikeout. Derek Thielen earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he record 3 strikeouts and he walked one. Jeremy Springer went 1-5 with a 3 run homer run and a sacrifice. Derek Thielen went 1-2 with 1 RBI and 3 walks, Travis Thielen went 1-5 with 2 RBI’s and Ryan Szymanski went 1-4 and he scored a run.

St. Wendell Saints 7 Royalton Riverdogs 4

The Saints topped their Victory League East foe, behind the pitching performance by Ryan Bloomer. He threw 6 innings, he scattered 7 hits, recorded 3 strikeouts, issued 4 walks and gave up 4 runs. Clavin Becker earned the save with 3 innings of relief, he record 2 strikeouts, 2hits and walked 4. Beau Maciej was one of the Saints leaders; as he went 2-5 with a RBI and a he scored a run. Lee Maciej went 1-4 with a double, 2 RBI’s and a run scored and Trevor VanHeel went 2-4. Taylor Nitz had a big day as he went 3-3 with a RBI and he scored a run and D. J. Brown went 1-3, with a RBI, 1 walk and he scored a run.

Pierz Brewers 13 Freeport Blacksox 3

The Blacksox dropped their second Victory league game to Victory League East foe. Carter Sawyer was the pitcher of record, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 4 runs, scattered 8 hits, 2 strikeouts and he issued 3 walks. Chad Hess went 3-4 and scored a run, Troy Frieler went 1-4 and he drove in 2 runs. Ben Klaphake went 1-1 with a RBI and 1 run scored, Seth Noll went 1-4 and he recored 2 stolen bases and Eric Evaslage went 1-3.

Richmond Royals 3 Farming Flames 2 (10 Innings)

The Royals recorded their second win over a Stearns County South rival, behind the pitching of Andy Bauer, he started and went 6 innings, he scattered 7 hits, recorded 8 strikeouts and he didn’t issue any walks. Adam Backes was credited with the win with his 4 innings of relief work, he gave up 2 hits and recorded one strikeout and he did not issue any walks. Cory “Stretch” Niewind went 2-4 and he drove in 2 runs and  credited with a sacrifice. He drove in the winning run with a walk off single in the bottom of the 10th inning. Cole Schmits went 2-4 with a double, Scott Ruegemer went 4-4 with a run scored and he was credited with a sacrifice. Adam Backes went 1-4 with a sacrifice, Kirby Hemmesch wen 1-3 with a big RBI and Brent Ruegemer went 1-4. Dusty Adams walked to led off the 10th inning and he scored the winning run for the Royals.

EXHIBITION GAMES

St. Augusta Gussies 10 Clear Lake Lakers 5

The Gussies topped Sauk Valley League foe behind the relief pitching of Dan Swan, he threw 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, walked 3 and he he recorded 3 strikeouts.  The game was called after 7 innings, because of darkness. Zach Laudenbach went 2-3 with 3 big RBI’s and Adam Benoit went 2-3. Dusty Schulzetenberg went 1-3 with a double, he walked once and had a stolen base. Adam Gwost went 1-2 with a RBI, walked 2 times and Matt Skaja went 1-2 with 2 walks and a stolen base. Dan Swan went 1-3, Dave Fritz went 1-3 with a RBI and Eric Primus went 1-3 with a double and a RBI. Sam Schrobrog was the pitcher of record for the Lakers, he threw 4 innings and Bryce Cash threw 2 innings. Andrew Setrum went 1-2 with a home run and he walked 2 times and Bryce Cash went 1-4. Kyle Systma went 1-2 with a double, he walked twice and he scored a run and Jerry Welle went 1-3 and he walked once. 

Kimball Express 7 Dassel Cokato Saints 3

The Express was led by Zach Dingmann outstanding pitching, he went into the 7th inning with a no-hitter. He walked 2 and he gave up 2 hits and he didn’t walk anyone. Andy Dingmann threw the final two innings, he gave up a hit and he walked 4. Jordan Joseph led the Express offense and their defense, as he made several outstanding plays at shortstop.  He maybe more slick with a glove than he is on the wrestling mat.  He went 3-5 with 3 big RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. Matt Dingmann went 2-4 and he score 2 runs, Adam Beyer went 1-3 with a RBI. Scott Marquardt went 1-4 with a RBI and Austin Ruehle went 1-3 with a sacrifice and he score 2 runs. Kyle Winter went 1-3, Brooks Marquardt went 1-2 scored a run and he had a sacrifice and David Joseph went 1-4.

St. August Gussies 9 Pierz Bulldogs 4

The Gussies were led by Zach Laudenbach’s 9 innings of pitching, he scattered 11 hits, walked 4 and he record 2 strikeouts. Marcus Lommel had a great game, as he went 3-5 with a double and 3 big RBI’s. Dusty Schulzetenburg went 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI’s and Nate Gwost went 2-4 with a double. Mike Laudenbach went 2-4 with a homerun and he scored two runs. Travis Laudenbach went 1-5 and scored a run and Zach Laudenbach went 1-4 and he scored a run and Adam Bonoit went 1-5 with a RBI.

Sartell Muskies 6 Cold Spring Springers 5

The Muskies topped the Springers in an exhibition game behind a strong pitching performance by Adam Wenker.  He earned the win with 6 strong innings. Jake Sweeter led the Muskies on offense with a huge 4-5 night, he hit 2 run home run and he had 3 big RBI’s. Dan O’Connell went 2-4 with 2 home runs and Brett Young with a double. Brian Schellinger went 2-5 and Jace Otto went 2-4 with a walk. Tim Burns went 3-5 with a double, Adam Wenker went 1-4 and Adam Schellinger went 1-3 with a walk.  Ben Griffin lead the Springers offense as he went 2-5 and Zach Femrite went 1-4 with a RBI. Drew VanLoy went 1-4 with two RBI’s.

Justin Thompson went 1-3 with a walk and Tyler Geislinger went 1-4. Justin Thompson and Zach Femrite did the pitching for the Springers.
