Cold Spring Springers 5 St. Cloud Beadreaus Saints 3  (Cold Spring 7/8)

The Springers topped their regional and Lakewood League rivals the Saints behind four pitchers.  The Springers starter, Reed Pfannenstein, a member of the North Dakota State pitching staff, threw 2 innings, walked 1 and had 2 strikeouts. Jack Arnold threw 2 innings, gave up 1 hit and walked 1. Justin Thompson earned the win with 2 innings of relief, walked 1 and recorded 2 strikeouts. Drew VanLoy was a busy man as he made several nice plays at third base and he threw 3 innings of relief to earn a save. He did give up 5 hits, walked 1 and he had a strikeout. Drew also went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Joe Dempsey went 1-2, he scored, walked and he had a RBI. Zach Femrite went 1-3, scored, had a stolen base and a RBI and Eric Loxtercamp went 1-3 with a sacrifice fly, scored a run and he had a RBI. Garrett Fuchs went 1-3 and he scored and Jeron Terres went 1-3, scored a run and he had a stolen base. Ben Griffin is becoming a very valuable pinch hitter, he had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Nick Maiers threw a very good game, as he scattered 4 hits over 6 innings, he walked 1, gave up 4 runs and he had 6 strikeouts. Nick Denney provided 2 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, no walks, 1 run and he had 2 strikeouts. Brian Minks went 1-4 with a walk and 2 RBI’s and Jeff Fasching went 2-4 with a double and a RBI. Nick Hengel went 2-4 and he scored, Nick Maiers went 1-3, walked and he scored and Dave Carlson walked and he scored a run.

Sauk Rapids Cyclones 9  Brainerd Bees 1  (Brainerd 7/12)

The Cyclones topped their Lakewood and regional, the Bees, behind the awesome pitching performance by David Kroger. He threw 7 innings, he gave up just 2 hits, walked 4 and he had 11 strikeouts. Andy Hinkemeyer threw 2 innings of relief, he walked 1 and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Matt Meyer had a big day for the Cyclones as he went 2-4 with a double, he scored 2 runs, had a stolen base and a RBI. Kyle Hinkemeyer had a good day, as he went 2-2 scored a run and he drove in 2 runs. Scott Geiger went 1-4 with double and 2 RBI’s and Jesse Lavoi went 1-3 with a RBI. David Kroger went 1-5, he scored a run and he had a RBI, Derek Cagle went 2-2 and he scored and Tom Wippler went 1-1 with a walk. Tyler Long went 1-4, was hit by a pitch and he scored a run and Andy Hinkemeyer walked and he scored a run. Burrell Flanagen was the pitcher of record for the Bees. Joel Martin went 1-3 with a walk and Bryce Flannigan went 1-4. Tristan Brecht walked twice, Tom Fairbanks walked once and Blake Peterson walked.

St. Nicholas Nicks 12 Eden Valley Hawks 2 (7 In.) (St. Nickolas 7/8)

The Nicks topped CVL rival the Hawks for their first league win of the season, behind the solid pitching performance by Jon Hofer. He threw all 7 innings, he scattered 5 hits, 3 walks and he had 5 strikeouts. The Nicks scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning with some timely 2 out hits.  Jeff Lutgen led the Nicks offense with a great night at the plate, he went 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Hunter Ahrens went 3-4 with 5 big RBI’s, surely one of his better nights as a Nick.  Matt Schott went 3-3 with a stolen base and Jon Hofer was busy at the plate too, he went 2-4. Robert Lutgen went 1-4 and he scored a run, Joe Wehlage went 2-4 and he scored and Derek Kuechle walked 2 times. Hayden Willner was the pitcher of record for the Hawks. Hayden Willner went 2-4 and Dan Hanson, Tanner Olean and Austin Schlangen all got base hits for the Hawks.

Watkins Clippers 3  Luxemburg Brewers 0 (Luxemburg 7/12)

The Clippers topped CVL rival the Brewers in a very well played game on a very hot day. Lefty Dan Berg threw a great game, he went all 9 innings, gave up just 4 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 6 strikeouts. Gary Peters provided all the offense the Clippers needed on the day, he went 2-4 with a stolen base, a big double to drive in 2 runs. Both Dan Berg and Kevin Kramer had good days at the plate, Dan went 2-4 and he was hit by pitch and Kevin went 2-5 and he scored a run. Taylor Nawrocki went 1-4, scored a run, he had a stolen base and a RBI. Lincoln Haugen went 1-5 and Brendan Ashton went 1-4, scored a run and he had a stolen base. Matt Geislinger went 1-3 with 2 walks and Adam Hiltner was hit by a pitch, had a stolen base and he had a sacrifice bunt. Lefty Austin Klaverkamp really battled the Clippers on this hot afternoon, he threw all 9 innings, he scattered 10 hits, walked 2 and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Ethyn Fruth went 2-4, Luke Harren went 1-5 and Sam Iten went 1-3 with a walk.

Pearl Lake Lakers 3  Cold Spring Rockies 1  (Marty 7/12)

The Lakers topped their CVL rivals the Rockies behind the pitching of Logan Schramel. He threw all 9 innings on a very hot afternoon, he scattered 8 hits, walked 3 and he had 6 strikeouts.  Justin Kunkel went 2-3 with a double and he scored a run and Mitch Wieneke went 3-4 and he scored a run. Nick Roeder went 1-3 with a double, walked and he scored a run and Tommy Linn went 1-4. Steve Krippner had two sacrifice flys for 2 RBI’s and Sam Schlangen had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Chris Lardy was the pitcher of record for the Rockies, he threw 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, no walks and he had 1 strikeout. Jake Brinker threw 2 innings of relief he gave up 3 hits, 1 walk and he had a strikeout. David Jonas went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a RBI. Josh Porwoll went 2-3 and he walked, Ryan Bell went 1-4 and Reese Hemmesch went 1-4 and he scored a run. Marshall Wirtzfeld 1-4, Mike Ficker was 1-4 and Kevin Wenner walked.

Watkins Clippers 10  St. Nicholas Nicks 0  (7 Innings) (Watkins 7/10)

The Clippers topped CVL foe the Nicks in 7 innings, in front of a huge crowd. The ball park was packed with fans from all over the state. Starting pitcher T. J. Frericks was recently diagnosed with leukemia. He is now in remission.  It was a special night, T. J’s night!  He and his father, Tom, who came out of retirement (at 52) and he caught T. J. for 5 2/3 innings. Both were awesome, T. J. gave up just 3 hits and he had 1 walk and his father was 2-4 with a double, scored 2 runs and he had 2 RBI’s.  Matt Geislinger had a great night at the plate, as he went 2-2, with a double, scored 2 runs, walked and he had a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Adam Hiltner showed that he still can run like in his running back days in high school, he went 2-2 with a double, scored 2 runs, walked and he had 2 RBI’s.  Lincoln Haugen went 2-3 with a double, scored a run and he had 3 big RBI’s. Taylor Nawrocki went 1-4 with a run scored and a RBI and Brandon Ashton went 1-4.  Mr. Consistent, Gary Peters went 2-4, he scored a run and he had a RBI and Ryan Tri went 2-4 with a double and he scored a run.  Travis Hanson was the pitcher of record for the Nicks, he threw 5 innings and Kenny Drontle threw 1 inning of relief. Travis Hanson went 1-3 with a walk, Robert Lutgen went 1-3 and Matt Schott went 1-3 for the Nicks.

Kimball Express 11 St. Nicholas Nicks 7  (St. Nickolas 7/12)

The Express topped their CVL rival the Nicks behind the pitching of Matt Dingmann and Andy Dingmann. Matt threw 7 innings, scattered 7 hits, 2 runs, walked 1 and had had 1 strikeout. Andy gave up 10 hits, walked 1, gave up 5 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Ben Johnson had a good game going 2-3, he scored 3 runs, walked 2 times and he had a big 2 run home run.  Brian Marquardt went 2-5 with a double,  scored 2 runs and he had 2 RBI’s. Zach Kuefler had good game, he went 2-5, scored 2 runs and he had a double. Kyle Winter went 1-3 with a big 2 run homer and Scott Marquardt went 1-3, he walked and he scored a run. Zach Dingmann went 1-5 with a RBI and Joey VanWohlde went 1-3, walked 2 twice and he scored a run. Derek Kuechle was the pitcher of record for the Nicks, he threw 4 2/3 innings, he gave up 5 hits, 3 walks and he had 2 strikeouts. Jon Hofer went 3 1/3 innings, he gave up 3 hits, 1 run and he had a strikeout. Kevin Drontle threw 1 inning, he gave up a hit and he walked 3. The Gussies topped CVL rivals the Hawks behind the pitching of Kellen Eurele and Dan Swan. Kellen threw 7 innings, gave up 4 hits, 1 walk and he had 3 strikeouts. Dan threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up a hit and he had 2 strikeouts. Nate Gwost had a good game, going 2-5 with a double, scored 2 runs, he had a stolen base and 2 RBI’s. Nate Laudenbach had a great game, going 3-4, scored 2 runs, he had 2 stolen bases and 2 RBI’s. Matt Skaja had another good game, going 2-4 with a double, he walked, scored a run, had a stolen base and 2 RBI’s. Dustin Schultzenburg went 2-4 with a stolen base and a RBI, Adam Gwost went 2-5 with a double and a RBI and Marcus Lommel went 2-4 and he scored a run. Aaron Fruth went 1-4, Eric Primus went 1-1 and Adam Benoit went 1-1 and he scored a run. Dan Hanson was the pitcher of record for the Hawks, he threw 3 2/3 innings and Travis Theilen threw 4 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 6 hits, walked 1 and he recorded 8 strikeouts. Sartell Muskies 6 Foley Lumberjacks 5 (Foley 7/8)

The Muskies had to come from behind to top Central Valley League rival the Lumberjacks. They were led by the pitching of Max Koprek, he threw 5 2/3 innings, scattering 6 hits, he walked 3 and he had a strikeout. Travis Weaver earned the win with 3 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, hit one batter and he had a strikeout. Jake Sweeter had a big night at the plate, as he went 3-4 with a walk and a RBI and Andrew Deters had another solid game at his leadoff spot, he went 3-5, scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base.  Brian Schellinger went 1-5 with a big double for a RBI and he scored a run. Johnny Schumer had a good game, going 2-3, he scored a run and he had a sacrifice bunt. Adam Wenker went 1-3, he walked and he scored a run, Tim Burns went 1-5 and he scored a run and Jace Otto went 1-5. The pitcher of record for the Lumberjacks was Cameron Jurek, he threw a good game.  Joe Zwicki led the offense, as he went 2-3 with a double, scored 2 runs and he was hit twice by a pitch. Tony Stay went 1-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s and he walked. Cameron Jurek had a good night at the plate, he went 2-3, walked, scored 2 runs and he had a RBI and Rich Rasmussen went 1-5. The Muskies are 18-1 overall and 9-0 in the Sauk Valley League.

The Muskies topped their Sauk Valley foe the Lumberjacks behind the pitching of lefty John Schumer. He threw 7 innings, scattered 9 hits, no walks and he had 6 strikeouts. Casey Allar threw one inning of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and he had a strikeout. Closing it out with a inning of relief was Grant Machenthun. The lefty walked 1 and he retired six batters to preserve the win. Rob Voshell had a big day, as he went 3-4, walked and scored a run, had 2 stolen bases and 2 big RBI’s. Brain Schellinger had a great day at the plate going 3-5, he scored 3 runs, had a double, 2 stolen bases and 1 RBI. Jake Sweeter went 1-4, scored a run and he had a RBI and Luke Sweeter went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI. Tim Burns went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI, Jace Otto went 1-5, Casey Allar went 1-4 with a sacrifice and Adam Wenker walked 3 times, scored a run and he had a sacrifice. Hunter Hamers was the pitching of  record for the Lumberjacks, he threw 3 innings, walked 3, gave up 4 hits and he had 2 strikeouts. Mike Beier threw 5 innings, he gave up 7 hits and Sam Keeler threw the 9th inning, walking 1 and striking out 1. Mike Beier had a great day at the plate, he went 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI’S. Tony Stay went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs and Tyler Midas went 2-5 and he scored 2 runs. Sam Keeler, Mike Plante, Rich Rasmussen and Mitch Keeler all had base hits for the Lumberjacks.

Litchfield Blues 9  Clear Lake Lakers 1  (Litchfield 7/10)

The Blues topped Central League rival the Lakers behind the pitching of Kaleb Kalkbrenner. He was aided by the Blues bats, he they pounded out 16 hits and they played errorless ball behind him. Kaleb threw all 9 innings, he scattered 6 hits, walked 5 and he had 7 strikeouts.  Eric Hulterstum continues to swing a hot bat, he went 2-3 with a double and a RBI. Jacob Johnson went 3-4 with a RBI and Carson Deal went 2-5 with 3 big RBI’s. Stephen Pennertz went 3-4, Derek Koll went 2-4 and Matt Spreiter went 1-5 with a RBI. Dylan Koll went 1-5, Austin Larson went 1-1 and Riley Johnson went 1-1. Matt Korte was the pitcher of record for the Lakers, he threw 6 innings, he walked 3 and he record 3 strikeouts. Brett Stinogal threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, walked 1 and he had a strikeout. Brett Stinogel went 2-5 and Rich Petty went 1-2 with a double for the Lakers. Foley Lumberjacks 5  Clear Lake Lakers 3  (10 Innings (Clear Lake 7/12)

The Lumberjacks topped Sauk Valley rivals the Lakers in a 10 inning game, they scored 2 in the top of 10th to earn the win. Cameron Jurek was the pitcher of record for the Lumberjacks in relief. Cameron Jurek also went 1-4 with a double for 2 big RBI’s, he scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base. Tony Stay was 1-4 with a double and a run scored and Mitch Keeler went 1-4 and he scored a run. Rich Rasmussen went 1-5 with a RBI, Mike Plante walked 2 times and Hunter Hamers walked 2 times.

For the Lakers Hunter Mutterer was the pitcher of record as he took the loss in 3 innings of relief of Sam Schoberg, who threw 7 innings. Jake Samuelson went 1-4 with double and he scored 2 runs and Rich Petty went 2-4 with a RBI to tie the game in the 7th. Kyle Systma went 1-4 and Hunter Mutterer  walked 2 times. Cole Grueningsman went 1-5, he led off the 7th with a single.

Foley Lumberjacks 9  Clear Lake Lakers 2 (7 Innings) (Clear Lake 7/12)

The Lumberjacks topped their Sauk Valley rivals for the second time behind the pitching of Mike Plante, we earned the win with 6 innings of relief. Mitch Keeler was a big leader for the Lumberjacks offense, he went 2-4 with a double and a triple and Sam Keeler went 3-5 and he scored 2 runs. Jordan Bialke went 3-6 and Mike Plante went 2-4. Tony Stay had a big day at the plate, going 3-5 with a double and Rich Rasmussen went 2-4 with a double. Hunter Hamers went 1-4, Rich Cousins went 1-4 and Cameron Jurek went 1-4. For the Lakers Kyle Systma was the pitcher of record, he threw 4 innings. Rich Petty went 1-4 and Jake Samuelson went 1-2 with  walks and he scored. Freeport Blacksox 6 Pierz Bulldogs 4 (Freeport 7/11)

The Blacksox’s topped Victory League foe the Bulldogs behind the pitching of their 45 year old veteran right hander, Rob Mettenberg. Rob threw 7 innings, scattered 11 hits, no walks and 6 strikeouts. He battled thru numerous situations with runners in scoring position. Ben Klaphake earns the win with 2 innings of relief for the Sox’s. Nate Klaphake led the Blacksox offense, as he went 2-4 with a double and he scored a run. Eric Evaslage went 2-4 with a sacrifice and 2 RBI’s and Seth Noll went 2-3, walked, score a run and had had a stolen base. Ike Sawyer went 1-4 and he scored a run and John Benson scored a run.

Freeport Blacksox 6 Buckman Billygoats 3 (Freeport 7/11)

The Blacksox pounded out 12 hits as they topped their Victory League rivals the Billygoats. Carter Saywer got the pitching win for the Soxs, he threw 6 innings, walked three, gave up 4 hits, and he had 1 strikeout. Mitch Reller earned the save with 3 innings of relief, he gave up  3 hits, walked 2 and he had 5 strikeouts. Ryan Tschida had a big night at the plate, he went 4-5, scored 2 runs and he had 2 RBI’s.  Grant Hess had a good night, he went 2-4, scored a run, had 2 stolen bases and RBI. Carter Sawyer went 2-3 with double, he walked and he had a RBI and Eric Evaslage went 1-3, walked and he scored a run. The Royals topped Stearns County South rival the Lakers behind the pitching of Andy Bauer and Jordan Neu. Andy earned the win with 7 innings of work, he gave up just 4 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and he had 6 strikeouts. Jordan Neu earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked 1, surrendered a 1 run and he had 2 strikeouts. Kyle Budde went 3-5 and he scored a run and Dusty Adam went 2-4 walked and scored 2 runs. Brent Ruegemer went 1-3 with a walk, Cory Niewind went 1-4 and Scott Ruegemer walked and he had 2 huge RBI’s. The Lakers came back to top the Royals in the second game of the weekend, it did take 11 innings. Josh Kampson powered the Lakers past the Royals, he went 2-4 as he walked 2 times and he had a home run in the top of the 11th inning. Jason Kampson was the starting pitcher for the Lakers, he threw 9 innings, gave up 10 hits, walked 3 and he had 5 strikeouts. Jordan Lieser picked up the win with 2 innings of relief, he gave up a hit, walked 3 and he had a strikeout. Luke Jokela was the starting pitcher for the Royals, he scattered 8 hits over 6 innings, walked 3 and he had 4 strikeouts. Adam Backes threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked 3 and had 1 strikeout. Jordan Neu took the loss as he gave up the home run to Kampson.  Adam Backes had a great day at the plate, he went 3-5, he had a double, walked and scored and had a RBI. The Stone Poneys got back into the win column with a big win over their Eastern Minny League rival the Rum River Bandits. Behind the pitching of lefty Jeff Amann, he started and earned the win with 7 innings of work. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4 and had 3 strikeouts. Travis Moreno earned a save with 2 innings of work, he gave up no hits, walked 3 and he had a strikeout. Jake Wenzel had a big night for the Poneys, he went 2-5, he walked, had a stolen base and he had 4 RBI’S.  Josh Rathbun had a big night, as he went 2-5, scored a run, had a double and 2 RBI’s and Austin Timm also had a great night, he went 3-5, had scored 2 runs, a stolen base and he had a RBI. Sean Tillman went 1-4, scored 2, walked and he had a double and a RBI and Jim Gabrielson went 1-5, scored, walked and he had a double. Travis Moreno went 1-3, with 2 walks and he scored 2 runs. Sartell Stone Poneys 12  Quamba Cubs 4  (Sartell 7/10)

The Stone Poneys topped the Cubs for another big Eastern Minny West League win.  Steven Fish started on the hill and he earned the win, with 6 innings of work. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, surrendered 3 runs and he had 6 strikeouts. Brandon Reinking threw 3 innings of relief, to earn the save. He gave up 1 hit, 2 walks, hit one batter and he had a strikeout. The Poneys offense was led by Josh Rathbun, he went 3-4 with a home run and a double for 4 RBI’s. Sean Tillman had a good night at the plate, as he went 2-5 with a double and 3 RBI’s. Jim Gabrielson had a good night, going 2-4, he scored 2 runs, had a stolen base, he walked and he had 2 RBI’s. Brandon Reinking went 2-5, he walked, had a stolen base and a RBI and Pat Dolan went 1-3, he walked 2 times and he scored 3 runs. Spencer Timm went 1-4, scored a run, had a stolen base and a RBI and Austin Timm went 1-4, he walked, scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base. Jake Wenzel walked, scored a run and he had a stolen base.

Quamba Cubs 14  Sartell Stone Poneys 10  (Quamba 7/12)

The Poneys fell behind by 9 runs after the first inning and they never could recover. Rob Gabrielson was the starting pitcher for the Poneys, he went 5 innings, giving 7 hits, 4 walks and he hit two batters, he recorded 4 strikeouts. Travis Moreno threw 3 innings of relief; he was the pitcher of record, he gave up 2 hits, 3 walks, hit two batters, he surrendered 3 runs and he had 4 strikeouts. Sean Tillman had a great game, as he went 3-5, scoring 3 runs, home run and double and a stolen base for 3 RBI’s. Brandon Reinking had his best game thus far for the Poneys, he went 4-5 with a double and 2 RBI’s and he scored 2 runs. Jake Wenzel went 2-5 with a double a stolen base and a RBI and Jeff Amann went 2-5 with 2 RBI’s, a run scored and a stolen base. Austin Timm went 1-4 with a double and a RBI and he had a stolen base. Rob Garbrielson went 1-5 with a double, run scored and a stolen base and Pat Dolan walked 3 times and he scored a run.

Mora Blue Devils 6  Sartell Stone Poneys 0 (Mora 7/12)

The Poneys dropped a game to the top team in the Eastern Minney East after giving up 6 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Starting pitcher Jeff Amann threw a complete game, giving up just 4 hits, walking 7 and he had 7 strikeouts. Jeff threw a very good game,  but he had one bad inning. Jake Wenzel led the Poneys on offense, going 3-4 with a double, Jim Gabrielson went 1-4 and Sean Tillman went 1-4.

Moorhead Brewers 6 Cold Spring Springers 4 (Jordan 7/11)

The Springers dropped their first game of the Coors Light tourney to the Brewers of Moorhead. Reed Pfannenstein was the pitcher of record for the Springers, he threw 4 innings, walked 5, gave up 4 hits and he had a strikeout. Jack Arnold threw 3 innings of very good relief, he gave up 1 hit, no walks and he had 4 strikeouts. Jeron Terres led the Springers offense, he went 2-3 with triple to drive in 2 runs. Eric Loxtercamp had a good game, going 2-4 with a double, had had a stolen base and he scored a run. Garrett Fuchs went 1-3, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Joe Dempsey went 1-3, scored a run and he had a RBI, Ryan Holthuas drove in a run and Zach Femrite went 1-1.

Cold Spring Springers 7 Blue Earth Bucs 0 (Shakopee 7/12)

The Springers topped a very good Bucs team behind the very good pitching performance by Justin Thompson. Justin gave up just 3 hits, had no walks and he recorded 5 strikeouts. This was against a team that came into the tourney with a 20-2 record, one of the top class C teams in the state. Eric Loxtercamp was one of the leaders for the Springers on offense, he went 2-4 with a double, he scored a run and he had a RBI. Zach Femrite went 1-3 with a double, he scored a run and had a RBI. Garrett Fuchs went 2-3 and he scored a run, Joe Dempsey went 1-3, scored twice and he had a RBI. Alex Jungels, continues to play a great outfield, but he also went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s. Justin Thompson also went 1-2 with a RBI to help his own cause and Jack Arnold was 1-1 as a pinch hitter.

Cold Spring Springers 2 Jordan Brewers 0 (Jordan 7/11)

The Springers once again were led by the pitching performance by Justin Thompson. He shut out one of the top teams in the state for 6 innings; regardless of class, he gave up only 2 hits, walked 2 and he had 2 strikeouts.  Jack Arnold had yet another great showing, as he threw 1 inning of relief, he gave up a hit and he had a strikeout to earn a save. Ryan Holthaus went 1-1, walked and scored a run and he had a huge RBI. Jeron Terres went 2-3, he had a double and he scored. Zach Femrite went 1-3 and Zach Hinkemeyer went 1-2.

St. Augusta Gussies 4 Lastrup Lakers 3 (13 In.) (Pierz Legion Field 7/8)

The Gussies topped Victory League foe behind the pitching of Aaron Fruth and Dan Swan. It took 13 innings but the Gussies topped their foe.  Aaron was the starting pitcher, he went 8 innings. He scattered 7 hits, 3 walks, 3 runs and he had 5 strikeouts. Dan Swan was credited with the win, with 5 innings of relief, he gave up just 2 hits, had 5 walks and he had recorded 2 strikeouts. Dustin Schultzenburg had another good game at the plate, he went 2-5, walked and he scored a run. Marcus Lommel continues to hit as he went 3-5 with a walk. Nate Gwost went 2-6, he scored and he had a double and Adam Gwost went 2-6. Dan Swan went 2-5 and he scored a run and Brady Grafft walked and he had a RBI. Nate Laudenbach went 1-5, scored and he had a RBI and Zach Laudenbach went 1-4, walked and he had a RBI.

Kimball Express 8  Atwater Chuckers 1 (Atwater 7/10)

The Express behind their young right hander topped one of the top County Line League teams the Atwater Chuckers. Zach Kuefler went 6 innings to earn the win, he gave up just 3 hits, walked 1 and he recorded 4 strikeouts. Big Adam Beyer threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit and Brooks Marquardt closed it out with 1 inning of relief, he record 2 strikeouts.  Two big home runs by the Express offense led the way, Troy Filzen hit a 3 run homer in the 3rd inning and Adam Beyer hit a 2 run homer in the 5th inning. Zach Kuefler also had a good night at the plate, as he went 2-4, walked and he scored a run. Joey VonWahlde went 1-4, walked, scored a run and he had a RBI and Zach Dingmann went 1-4 and he had a RBI. Scott Marquardt went 1-3, walked and scored a run, Brooks Marquardt walked and scored a run and Ben Johnson went 1-3, walked and he scored a run.

St. Joseph Joes 4  Avon Lakers 2 (St. Joseph 7/8)

The Joes topped the Victory League South regular season champions behind some great pitching by R. J. Alpers and Alex Kendall. R. J. started and he went 6 2/3 innings, he scattered 6 hits, walked 4 and he had 8 strikeouts. Alex Kendall earned the win with 2 1/3 Innings of relief, had faced 7 batters and he surrendered a walk and had 5 strikeouts. Erik Vigil had a great game at the plate for the Joes, he went 2-4 with a RBI and he scored a run. Ethan Carlson continues to play well in the field and on offense, he went 2-3, walked, scored a run and he had a stolen base. Caz Novak went 2-3 and Brandon Bloch went 1-3, he walked and scored a run and he had a RBI. R. J. Albers help his own cause with a 1-3, he had a sacrifice bunt for a RBI. Joe Stock went 1-3 and he had a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Ben Bierschied went 1-1 with a walk. Troy Wunderlich was the starting pitcher for the Lakers, he was the pitcher of record.  Rick Hendrickson had his usual consistent game, he went 1-3, walked 2 times and he had 2 stolen bases. Caleb Curry had a great game, going 2-3 with 2 stolen bases and Matt Meyer went 1-5 with a double. Adam Harlander went 1-3 and Cody Stich went 1-1.

St. Martin Martins 5 St. Augusta Gussies 3 (St. Martin 7/11)

The Gussies dropped a close game to Stearns County League foe the Martins. Travis Laudenbach, gave up 13 hits, walked 1 and he had 3 strikeouts. Adam Gwost had a good game, as he went 2-4 with a double. Zach Laudenbach went 2-4 and Marcus Lommel went 2-5 and he scored a run. Dan Swan had a good game going 2-4, with a double and a stolen base. Aaron Fruth went 1-4 with a double, Matt Skaja went 1-5, scored a run, had a stolen base and he had a RBI and Eric Primus went 1-3.

Raymond Rockets 5  Litchfield Blues 4  (Raymond 7/8)

The Blues dropped a close one to the Corn Belt League foe on a walk off home run in the ninth inning. Austin Larson was the starting pitcher for the Blues, he went 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, walked 2, gave up 3 runs and he had a strikeout. Jack Schultz took the loss, he threw 2 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Josh Johnson was the big part of the Blues offense as he hit a 3 run homer in the 3rd inning. Eric Hulterstrum had another impressive day at the plate, as he went 3-5 and Carson Deal went 2-4 with a double. Jake Jones went 1-4 with a double, Matt Spreiter went 1-5 and Austin Larson went 1-4.

Luxemburg Brewers 3  St. Stephen Steves 1 (St. Stephen 7/8)

The Brewers topped Victory League South foe the Steves behind the great pitching performance by John Fish. He threw the entire game, giving up just 5 hits, walked 1 and he record a strikeout. John did induce 23 fly ball outs on the eve of his 23rd birthday. Ethyn Fruth provided much of the offense as he went 2-4 with a RBI and Sam Iten went 2-5 with a RBI. Derrick Orth went 2-4. Ben Omann was the pitcher of record for the Steves. T. J. Bevins led the Steves on offense, as he went 2-3 with a double and Brandon Waldvogel went 1-4 with a RBI. Austin Guggenberger also went 1-4 for the Steves.

Pearl Lake Lakers 6  Roscoe Rangers 5 (7 innings) (Roscoe 7/8)

The Lakers topped Stearns County South foe the Rangers in non-league action behind the pitching of Steve Krippner and Sam Schlangen. Steve threw 4 innings, scattered 5 hits and he had 6 strikeouts. Sam threw 3 innings of relief, gave up a hit, 4 walks, 3 runs and had a strikeout. Preston Peglow went 1-3 with a 2 run homer and Mitch Wieneke went 1-3 with a double and a RBI. Justin Kunkel went 2-3, and Andy Linn went 2-3 and he scored a run. Tommy Linn went 1-4 and he scored a run, Steve Krippner went 1-2 with a RBI and Andrew Lenzmeier went 1-2 and he scored a run.

Nisswa Lightning 7 Brainerd Bees 6 (Nisswa 7/8)

The Bees nearly knocked off the Lightning, they could hold them off as they came back with 4 runs in the 8th inning. The Lightning improved their record to 21-2, they are one of the topped ranked Class C teams in the state.  Blake Eller was the pitcher of record for the Bees. Hanson Devine led the Bees offense, he went 2-4 with a home run. Blake Eller had a good night at the plate as he went 2-5 with a 2 RBI’s. Joel 
Martin had another good night at the plate, he went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s.
