Cold Spring Springers 6  Brainerd Bees  (Cold Spring 7/1)

The Springers topped their Lakewood League rival the Bees behind the pitching of Justin Thompson. Justin threw a complete game, scattering just 5 hits, no walks, gave up 2 runs and he had 7 strikeouts. Drew VanLoy had another good game, as he went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Joe Dempsey went 1-4 with a big double, scored 2 runs and he had 2 RBI’s. Alex Jungels, played a great left field and he went 2-3, with a double, walk and he scored a run. Garrett Fuchs had another good game going 2-4, scored 2 runs and he had 2 stolen bases. Eric Loxtercamp went 1-4, score a run and he had a sacrifice to drive in a run. Jeron Terres went 1-3 and William Huls earned a walk in his first appearance as a Springer. Blake Eller was the pitcher of record for the Bees, he threw 5 innings, gave up 7 hits, 4 runs, no walks and he had 2 strikeouts. Blake Peterson threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Joel Martin had a big game for the Bees, as he went 2-3 with a double, scored a run and a sacrifice. Bryce Flanagan went 2-4 with a pair of base hits and Dylan Vanek went 1-1 with a single.

Kimball Express 9  Cold Spring Rockies 4  (Cold Spring 6/30)

The Express topped CVL rival the Rockies behind the pitching efforts by Ben Johnson. He threw 5 innings, scattered 5 hits, walked 1, gave 1 run and he had 6 strikeouts, it was Ben’s first start of the season.  Zach Kuefler earned the save, he threw 4 innings, gave up 6 hits, walked 1, gave up 3 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. Ben Johnson also had a big night at the plate, as he went 3-5 with 2 doubles, he scored 2 runs and he had 2 RBI’s. Adam Beyer had another good game, as he went 3-5 with a double, scored twice and a RBI. Austin Ruehle had his own personal cheering section and he responded going 3-5 with a double, scored a run and he had a RBI. The Marquardt family was certainly in the game; Brooks went 1-5 with a double and a RBI, Scott went 1-5 with a RBI and Brian Marquardt went 1-4. But the highlight of the evening for the family, was when Tom (Dad) stepped up to the plate as a pinch hitter, he delivered with a base hit to drive in 2 runs. Zach Dingmann went 1-2 with a walk and Matt Dingmann scored, walked and he had a RBI. The Pitcher of record for the Rockies was Jeff Lindbloom as he threw 3 1/3 innings, the Rockie starter was Blaine Athmann threw 2 innings and he gave up 2 hits. Chris Lardy threw 3 2/3 innings of relief, he gave up 8 hits, a walk, 3 runs and he had a strikeout. David Jonas had a good offensive game, going 3-5 and Mike Holbrook went 3-5 and he scored a run. Josh Porwoll had a good night at the plate, he went 2-3 with a double, walked and he had a RBI. Reese Hemmesch went 1-4, Ryan Bell went 1-5 and scored 3 runs, Paul Schreiner went 1-4 and Marshall Wirtzfeld had a sacrifice for a RBI.

Kimball Express 12  Eden Valley Hawks 8  (Eden Valley 7/1)

The Express topped their CVL rival the Hawks behind the pitching of Matt Dingmann. Matt threw 5 innings, gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, no runs and he recorded 3 strikeouts. Zach Dingmann threw 3 1/3 innings of relief, he didn’t have a good night, he did give up 8 hits and he walked 4 and he recorded 5 strikeouts. Jordan Joseph got the save as he closed the door with 2/3 innings of relief, he did give up a hit and he recorded two big strikeouts. Jordan also had a big game with the bat, he went 2-6 with a triple and a double, scored two runs and he had 2 RBI’s. Adam Beyer had another good night at the plate, as he went 3-5, he scored and he had 2 RBI’s. Joey VonWahlde is a big welcome back addition to the team, he went 3-5 with 3 RBI’s. Ben Johnson is heating up as he went 2-5 with a double and he scored 3 runs. Troy Filzen had a good game going 2-5, scored and he had a RBI. Zach Kuefler went 1-4, walked twice, scored a run and he had a RBI and Kyle Winter went 2-5. Scott Marquardt went 1-5, scored 2 runs and he walked and Brooks Marquardt walked and scored a run. Nathan Geislinger took the pitching loss for the Hawks, he threw 7 innings, he gave up 12 hits, 4 walks and he had 5 strikeouts. Hayden Willner threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 4 hits, walked 2, gave up 3 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Hayden had a good night at the plate going 3-5 with a double, walked and he had a RBI and Chad Hesse went 1-5, scored a run, had a stolen base and walked. Jeff Haag went 2-6 and Dan Hanson went 2-5 and he scored. Matthew Pennertz went 1-5, he scored 2 runs and he had a RBI and Nathan Geislinger went 1-5, scored a run and he had a RBI. Tanner Olean went 1-4 walked and he had a RBI and Josh Schumacher went 1-3, he walked and scored a run.

Kimball Express 7  Luxemburg Brewers 2  (Kimball 7/5)

The Express topped CVL rival the Brewers behind the pitching of Joey VonWahlde, he threw 7 innings. Joey gave up 6 hits, walked 4, gave up 2 runs and he had 6 strikeouts. Andy Dingmann closed it out with 2 innings of relief, he walked 1 and had 1 strikeout. Express turned double plays in both the 8th and the 9th innings. Ben Johnson led the Express with his 2-3 performance, he had a solo home run, walked and he had 2 RBI’s. Matt Dingmann went 1-3, he scored and he had a RBI and Brian Marquardt went 1-3 with a walk. Scott Marquardt went 1-3, walked and he scored and Adam Beyer went 1-4 and he scored. Austin Ruehle went 1-5 and he scored and Zach Kuefler went 1-1. Kyle Winter walked and he had a RBI on a fielder’s choice, Jordan Joseph had a RBI on a fielder’s choice and Tom Marquardt had a RBI on a fielder’s choice. Isaac Matchinsky took the pitching loss for the Brewers, he threw 3 innings, gave up 5 hits, 3 runs, walked 1 and he had 2 strikeouts. Casey Underwood threw 4 1/3 innings of relief, he gave up 1 hit, walked 4 and he recorded 3 strikeouts. John Fish completed the game as he retired 2 batters and he gave up 2 hits.  Mitch Ergen led the Brewer offense, as he went 2-4 with a double and he scored a run and Ethyn Fruth went 2-3. Nick Baker went 1-2, he walked and he had a RBI and Isaac Matchinsky went 1-3 and he walked. Derrick Orth walked and he scored a run and Darrin Kiffmeyer had a RBI on a fielder’s choice.

Watkins Clippers 2  Pearl Lake Lakers 1  (11 Innings)  (Watkins 6/30)

A pitchers dual between Matt Geislinger and Tony Garding went 11 innings, before the Clippers topped their CVL rivals. Matt threw 10 innings, scattered 7 hits, walked 2 and he had 11 strikeouts. Dan Berg was the pitcher of record, as he threw 1 inning of relief as he closed it out. Dan Berg went 2-6 with 2 doubles and he scored and Lincoln Haugen went 2-5. Adam Hiltner went 2-5 with a stolen base, Ryan Tri went 2-5 with a double and Matt Geislinger went 1-4 with a big RBI.  Tony took the loss for the Lakers, he threw the complete game. He gave up 10 hits, no walks and he had 7 strikeouts. Andy Linn went 2-5 and Justin Kunkel went 2-4 with a walk. Logan Schramel went 1-4 and he scored and Tommy Linn went 1-5. Andy Linzmeier went 1-3 with a sacrifice and Isaak Blitvich went 1-3 with a sacrifice.

Cold Spring Rockies 7  Eden Valley Hawks 4  (Cold Spring 7/5)

The Rockies topped their CVL rivals the Hawks behind the pitching of Chris Lardy and Blaine Athman. Chris threw 7 innings, gave up 11 hits, 4 runs and had recorded 7 strikeouts. Blaine earned the save with 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked 1 and he gave up 1 run. David Jonas was the big offensive leader for the Rockies, he went 4-4 with 4 singles, he scored 3 runs and he had 2 RBI’s. Rich Burtzel had a good game going 2-3 and Josh Porwoll had a great game going 2-2, he scored, walked and he had a double and 2 big RBI’s. Mike Holbrook went 2-3, he scored and he had a stolen base and Marshall Wirtzfeld went 1-2 with a RBI. Ryan Bell went 1-3 with a stolen base and Paul Schreiner went 1-3 with stolen base. The Gussies topped their CVL foe behind the pitching of Travis Laudenbach and Dan Swan. Travis threw 7 innings, scattered 6 hits, walked 1, surrendered 5 runs and he had 4 strikeouts. Dan Swan threw 2 innings of relief, he walked 2 and retired 6 batters. Dusty Schultzenburg had a great game, going 3-4 with a 2 RBI’s and Marcus Lommel with another good game, he went 3-6, with a double and he scored 2 runs. Nate Gwost had a great day at the plate, he went 2-3, with a double, he scored a run and he had 2 RBI’s. Aaron Fruth had a great game, going 3-5, scored 3 runs, had a double, 1 stolen base and a RBI. Matt Skaja went 2-5, he scored and had a RBI and Brady Grafft went 2-2, scored 2 runs, walked and he had 2 RBI’s. Zach Laudenbach went 1-2 with a sacrifice and a RBI and Nate Laudenbach went 1-2, scored 2 runs and walked. The Lakers topped Victory League foe behind a trio of pitchers.  The starter for the Lakers, Cody Stich threw 4 2/3 innings, gave up 5 hits, 5 walks, 3 runs and he had 7 strikeouts. The pitcher of record Kyle Collins, he threw 2 1/3 innings to earn the win, he walked 1 and he had 4 strikeouts. Tony Schoenberg threw  2 innings of relief had walked 1 and he retired 6 batters. Rick Hendrickson went 2-5 with stolen bases, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI’s. Riley Voit went 2-4 with 2 walks, stolen base, run scored and 2 RBI’s, Reed Voit went 1-4 with a sacrifice fly for a RBI and Conner Huberty went 1-5 with a RBI. Kenny Weber had 2 stolen bases, 2 runs scored and he was hit by a pitch 2 times.  The pitcher of record for the Express was Justin Szymanski, he threw 4 innings, gave up 2 hits, walked 7, gave up 3 runs and he had 5 strikeouts. The Lakers topped the Express in their second game of their split double hitter, behind three pitchers.  Jon Harlander was the pitcher of record, he threw 3 innings, gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run and he had 2 strikeouts. Caleb Curry gets credit for a stop, he threw 3 innings of relief, he gave up 2 hits and he had 4 strikeouts. St. Wendel Saints 2  St. Stephen Steves 1 (10 Innings) (St. Stephen 7/5)

The Saints won their final game of the season, because the number 5 team in the south division will not make the playoffs. They topped their Victory League rivals the Steves in 10 innings, behind the great pitched game by John Pogatchnik. He threw all 10 innings, he scattered 7 hits, had no walks and he had 3 strikeouts. John also had a big game on offense, as he went 2-5, he scored and he walked once. Lee Maciej went 2-5 with a stolen  base and he was hit by a pitch. Trevor VanHeel went 1-5 with a walk, Grant Pierskalla went 2-4 and he scored a run, Jack Beckius went 1-4 with a walk and Beau Maciej walked. The pitcher of record for the Steves was Austin Guggenberger, he threw 1 inning, gave up a hit and 2 runs.  Nick Krippner threw 6 innings of relief, he gave up just 6 hits, 4 walks and 7 strikeouts and Blake Guggenberger threw 3 innings of relief and he gave up 2 hits and walked 2. The Royals dropped a game to Stearns county rival the Flames, Andy Bauer was the pitcher of record. He threw all 8 innings, gave up 9 hits, 5 runs and he had 2 walks. Scott Ruegemer had a good game, as he went 2-4 with a double and Cole Schmitz went 1-3 with a double. Adam Backes went 2-4 and Jordan Neu was 1-3. Dylan Adams went 1-3 and Kyle Budde went 1-4.

The Muskies improved to 17-1 on the season with a big win over the Saints. The Muskies used a trio of pitchers, Adam Wenker the starter, gets the win. He threw 5 innings, scattered 5 hits, 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Grant Machenthun threw 2 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, walked 3 and he gave up a run. Travis Weaver threw the final two innings, he walked 1 and he hit a batter. Luke Sweeter had a good game, going 2-5 with a double and a RBI and Andrew Deters went 2-5, he scored a run, he had a stolen base and a RBI. Tim Burns went 2-5, he scored 2 runs and he had a stolen base and Cody Partch went 1-3, he walked, scored a run and he had a stolen base. Brain Schellinger went 1-5 with a RBI, Jace Otto went 1-4, with a sacrifice and he scored and Adam Schellinger went 1-5. Paul Schumer walked and he scored a run and Johnny Schumer had a sacrifice. The Cyclones had a great pitching performance by David Kroger, as he threw 6 innings, gave up just 2 hits and he recorded 9 strikeouts. Nate Friehammer threw 3 innings of very good relief for the save, he had 2 strikeouts. Andy Henkemeyer went 2-4 and he scored a run, Tyler Long went 2-4, scored a run and he had a RBI and Derek Cagel went 2-3 with a RBI. Evan Warnert went 1-3 and he scored a run, Charlie Oltz went 1-3 and he had a RBI and Paul Schlangen walked 2 times and he scored a run. Dan Berg threw 8 good innings, giving up 5 hits, he walked 2 and surrendered 5 runs. Dustin Kramer threw the final inning of relief. Lincoln Haugen went 1-4 with a double and a RBI. Nisswa Lightning 5  St. Joseph Joes 2  (St. Joseph 7/1)

The Saints dropped a close game to the Lightning, in what was a very good game. The Joe’s starting pitcher, Josh Woods, took the loss, he gave up just 5 hits in 5 innings, he walked 2, gave up 3 runs and he had 3 strikeouts. R. J. Alpers threw 4 innings of relief, he gave up 3 hits, 3 walks, 2 runs and he had 2 strikeouts. Joe Stock and Ben Alvord both had good games at the plate, as they both went 2-4 and they each scored a run.  Alex Kendall went 1-4 with a triple and a RBI and Ethan Carlson went 1-4 with a double. Ben Beirscheid went 1-3 and he scored a run, Caz Novak went 1-4 and Zach Overboe hit into a field choice for a RBI.  The Lightning are considered by many to be one of the top Class C teams in the state, they are now 17-2 on the season.

Luxemburg Brewers 8  Richmond Royals 2 (7 Innings)  (Richmond 7/1)

The Brewers topped their Stearns County opponent the Royals, behind the pitching of Mitch Ergen. He threw 7 innings, scattering 6 hits, walked 3, gave up just 2 runs and he had 6 strikeouts. The Brewers were led by Derrick Orth as he went 1-4 with a double, walk and 2 big RBI’s and Nick Baker went 1-4 with a double, he scored and he had 2 big RBI’s. Mitch Ergen gave himself some good support too, going 2-3, he scored and he had a RBI and Sam Iten went 2-3 and he scored. John Fish went 1-4 with a RBI, Derrick Kiffmeyer went 1-4, scored and he had a RBI and Tanner Skaja went 1-3, he scored and he had a RBI. There no information made available on Richmond!

Sartell Stone Poneys 7  East Bethel Bandits 6   (Sartell 7/1)

The Poneys topped Minny Metro foe the Bandits behind the efforts of four pitchers. Spencer Timm was the starter for the Poneys, he only went 1 inning and Tyler Waytashek went 2 innings, giving up 5 hits, 5 runs and 3 walks. Travis Moreno threw 4 very good innings of relief, he gave up just 2 hits, walked 2 and he had 3 strikeouts.  The pitcher of record for the Poneys was Dan Gaughan, he threw 2 innings, gave up 2 hits, 1 run and he had 2 strikeouts. Jake Wenzel was one of the Poneys big offensive leaders, he went 2-4, scored 2 runs, walked, had a stolen base and 2 RBI’s.  Sean Tillman had another big game, as he went 2-4, with a double, stolen base, scored and he had a RBI. Tyler Waytashek went 1-4, he walked, scored and he had 2 RBI’s, Pat Dolan went 1-2, he walked 3 times and he had a RBI and Jeff Amann went 1-2. Dan Gaughan walked 2 times and he scored a run, Jesse Ourens walked 2 times and he scored, Spencer Timm walked, and Travis Moreno had a sacrifice.

Atwater Chuckers 12   Litchfield Blues 3  (7 Innings)  (Atwater 6/30)

The Blues took on County Line foe Atwater with just 9 guys and they game up on the short end. Dylan Koll was the pitcher of record and Kal Volinkaty threw some relief. Eric Hulterstrum led the Blues offense with a 2-3 showing with a double. Derek Koll had a good night too at the plate as he went 2-4. Riley Johnson went 2-3 and Matt Spreiter went 1-1.
