Miltona 11, Fairmont 0 @ Brownton (7 innings)

After the first inning it was all Miltona. They scored 2 in the second, 3 each in the third and fourth, 1 in the fifth and 2 in the sixth. Shawn Krueger threw all seven innings for Miltona allowning 7 hits, no runs, 2 walks and 5 strike outs.

In the second, Tom Steidl singled, Cody Curry walked Colin Erickson was hit by a pitch and Shawn Kreuger had a 2 RBI single. In the third, Sam Steidl was hit by a pitch, Tom Steidl walked, and Jake Leuschke, Colin Erickson and Shawn Krueger all had RBI singles.

In the fourth, Tyler Erickson hit a double, tom Steidl walked, Cody Curry had an RBI single and Jake Leuschke had a 2 run double.

For Miltona, Cody Curry was 2-3 with an RBI and Jake and Jake Leuschke was 2-4 with 3 RBI.

Miltona will play Big Lake at 1:00 P.M. in Brownton on Saturday, September 3.

Waconia 5, Big Lake 2 @ Glencoe

Big Lake and pitcher Asa Patterson were cruising along with a 2-0 lead until the bottom of the seventh inning when Waconia scored 4 runs on a solo home run by Craig LaPlante and a three run double by Ronnie Olson. They tacked on one more run in the eighth to make the final score 5-2.

Big Lake scored one in the first on a David Burkholder RBI single. In the sixth, Burkholder hit a long home run to right.

Ronnie Olson ended the night 3-4 with 3 RBI. Jeremy Saldon, Craig LaPlante and Andrew Fredrickson were all 2-4 for Waconia.

Chris Bullis threw all 9 innings allowing 8 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts to gain the win. Asa Patterson was the losing pitcher.

Miltona will play Big Lake at 1:00 P.M. in Brownton on Saturday, September 3.

Mankato Mets 2, New Prague 0 @ Glencoe

Ashton Dorris threw a complete game shutout for Mankato. He allowed only 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 11. He worked out of a jam in the top of the eighth, but got 2 strike outs to end the inning.

Mankato scored their first run in the second on a Josh Anderson single. Derek Quame reached on an error by the first baseman. Jake Krier singled in Anderson.

In the fifth, Jake Krier singled, was sacrificed to second and Alex Smith singled him in for run number 2.

Josh Anderson was 2-4, Jake Krier was 2-3 with an RBI, and Alex Smith was 1-4 with an RBI for Mankato.

Mankato will play Nisswa on Saturday, September 3 at Brownton at 4:00 P.M.

Isanti 8, Nisswa 4 @ Brownton

Both teams scored a run in the first inning. Isanti added a run in the third and broke the game open in the fourth with 4 more runs. They added another in the sixth and eighth and held Nisswas to two runs in the fifth and one in the seventh to earn an 8-4 victory.

In the first, Isanti scored on an error by the Nisswa shortstop. Nisswa scored on a home run by Luke Schumer.

Isanti scored a run in the third on a Tom Heifort single. In the fourth, Isanti scored four runs on an RBI ground out by Ben Samuelson, an Eric Rysdam single, and a two run Tom Heifort double.

In the fifth, Nisswa scored two runs on a Jason Roepke single. Isanti scored a run in the sixth when Tyler Schaff was hit by a pitch. Nisswa answered in the seventh when Schumer doubled and scored on an error.

Isanti scored their last run on an Eric Rysdam double and Tom Heifort’s sacrifice fly. Losing pitcher was Brett Kramer. The winning pitcher was Wade Reichmann.

Isanti will play Waconia in the winners’ bracket final in Glencoe at 7:00 P.M. on September 3.
