MBA MEETINGAGENDA

SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2020

VIRTUAL MEETING UTILIZING ZOOM

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT RICHTER AT 3:00 PM

ROLL CALL SHOWED THAT ALL BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT

MOTION LEMKE, SECOND BRENNAN, CARRIED TO ACCEPT MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING 

CURRENTLY AMATEUR BASEBALL IN MINNESOTA IS CLOSED.  THERE WILL BE NO GAMES PLAYED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE WILL NOT START OUR SEASON UNTIL THE GOVERNOR OPENS UP BASEBALL AND GIVE US PERMISSION TO START PLAY.  ONCE THE GOVERNOR SAYS GO, OUR GAMES CAN START THE NEXT DAY, BUT UNTIL THEN, UNFORTUNATELY, BASEBALL IN MINNESOTA IS ON HOLD. IF THERE WILL BE SPECIAL RULES THAT WE WILL NEED TO ADHERE TO, WE WILL GET THEM TO YOU BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS AND WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE.  THE BOARD IS OPTIMISTIC THAT WE WILL HAVE A BASEBALL SEASON. THE BOARD WILL BE SENDING A LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR REQUESTING/URGING HIM TO OPEN UP BASEBALL AS SOON AS PRACTICAL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!

THE BOARD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE NEW ULM/SPRINGFIELD TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS UPDATING US ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS THAT HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AT EACH OF THE BALLPARKS AND INDICATED THAT THEY ARE ON TRACK FOR THE 2020 STATE TOURNAMENT.  THEY ALSO NOTED SOME ISSUES THAT THEY ARE FACING WITH REGARD TO THE PROGRAM ADS AND GETTING COMMITMENTS FROM BUSINESSES THAT ARE NOT OPERATIONAL DUE TO COVID-19. THEY HAD SOME QUESTIONS, ALONG WITH MANY PEOPLE IN THE AMATEUR BASEBALL WORLD, AS TO WHETHER OR NOT WE WILL HAVE A SEASON.

MOTION BRENNAN, SECOND SCHLEPER, CARRIED TO REINSTATE THE ROSEAU ROYALS TO THE MBA FOR PLAY IN 2020. 

MOTION NAGEL, SECOND LEMKE, CARRIED TO APPROVE LOGAN SIEMERS REQUEST TO UTILIZE THE HOMETOWN RULE TO PLAY WITH THE ST. STEPHEN STEVES.

MOTION NAGEL, SECOND ROUFS, CARRIED TO ALLOW CHRIS FELLOWS REQUEST TO UTILIZE THE HOMETOWN RULE TO RETURN TO PLAY WITH THE ORTONVILLE ROX.

MOTION KREGER, SECOND SCHLEPER, CARRIED TO APPROVE THE FOLLOWING TOURNAMENT SANCTIONS:

-NEW PRAGUE ORIOLES  TOURNAMENT 6/12-6/14.  AND TO ALLOW ALL MN TEAMS TO PLAY KEWASKUM, WI THAT ARE IN THE TOURNAMENT

-CANNON FALLS BEARS TOURNAMENT 6/10-6/14

-SARTELL MUSKIES & ST. STEPHEN STEVES TOURNAMENT 5/29-5/31.  

-GREEN ISLE AND HAMBURG TOURNAMENT 6/19-6/21.  ALSO TO ALL ALL TEAMS IN THE TOURNAMENT TO PLAY OSCEOLA, WI

-VICTORIA VICS FOR THE MIKE POPPITZ MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT 6/19-6/21

-MORRIS EAGLES FOR THE MIKE JOHNSON MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT 6/5-6/7

MOTION LEMKE, SECOND BRENNAN, CARRIED TO ALLOW THE LAND O’DUCKS LEAGUE A 5 MILE RADIUS EXTENSION

IT IS DULY NOTED  REGARDING BOB DOLAN, MILROY IRISH REQUEST TO ALLOW COLLEGE SENIORS THAT ARE GRADUATING AND RELOCATED TO NOT HAVE TO ADHERE TO THE MARCH 15TH RESIDENCY RULE.  THIS WILL BE DISCUSSED IN NOVEMBER WHEN THE BOARD REVIEWS ALL OF OUR RULES.

MOTION LEMKE, SECOND KREGER, CARRIED TO APPROVE THE CRVL AND THE RVL’S REQUEST TO PLAY AN ALL STAR GAME ON 5/30
